The talks didn't break down between planners, Conygar and any other interested parties, it was just that we didn't remain at them. Once it was obvious we wouldn't have the finance to take an active part we were off This was my post on the 11th August "Sounds like Hussain has had to break the bad news to Wael that he's got two Hopes of raising the finance for the Fruit Bat Arena and one of those is Bob Hope" Oh right. You made it up then 👍 Sorry you've lost me there

I think that was pretty obvious when Wael and the new owner didn't last 5 mins in their first joint meeting with the planners and Conygar after the new owners arrived. Do you know this to be true, or is it a rumour? I haven't heard anything about the talks breaking down after 5 minutes. It was just over a month ago today that it was apparent the deal wasn't happening.
Our expectations regarding of what we could achieve were tens of millions of pounds out. Conygar must have been left fuming. I suppose the only good thing to come out of the last 10 years is that any new construction partner will be very careful before they allow our club to produce fantasy plans in their name.
Hopefully we will now all be aware of the limitations our owners have and we can apply some pressure on them to produce realistic aims regarding our near derelict stadium.

Get comfortable at the Mem as the FM is never going to happen. How very dare you. You'll be telling me there's no Father Christmas next

I predicted this happening back around page 50 of this thread, it was obvious then. we will have to install extra lighting along the stand root like they have at AG cheers from smug gashead Stand root??

Strange decision by the club to charge £20 to sit down for a game of this status after the way fans have mucked about with the removal of seats at the ground. Fairly sure that until recently seats for these games were £10.

Pitch looks a bit narrower too. Did we sell half the ground late last night as well

Listening to all the talk coming from JCH'S club in the last week I'd assumed he'd moved to PSG or Real Madrid. Did a quick Google and found hea playing a run of the mill third division side called Peterborough, I think that's how you spell it...oh well just goes to show Wrong thread Chap. Was I close?

Noticed it said the catering was back in house. I remember the days of Robert Laurence. Great food in hospitality and in the pasty huts - even better than Delia! He used to be almost omnipresent that bloke! Football, rugby and functions - when we used to do them. He must have done a 50hour+ week during the season. 50 hours a week as a Chef would be regarded by many as part time in the industry. I remember waking up in Southmead Hospital in the early 90s having completed 80 hours and had collapsed in the kitchen with no memory of the build up. Don't miss those days at all! "You were lucky....when I were a lad we used to get up before we went to bed and work 26 hours a day down pit....."

He’s a million miles from an England call up. Can’t even get minutes for his club and third in the pecking order, Gashead bias aside & no matter how talented we all know he is, that Three Lions debut is a world away right now. The depth of the England side especially in attacking areas is obscene. I’m not surprised he’s jumped at the jock opportunity. McTominay did it for the same reasons. Can't see anything but an easy Engerland win at the Euro's next year. They're so far ahead of anything else in Europe it's ridiculous

I'm actually extremely impressed......Blackthorn next May' and keep the terracing below Could well be the plan. Wouldn't take much to build over the Blackthorn bar area in time for next season. By then the rust will have caused the West Stand to collapse and the insurance will hopefully get that one done

Looks like the planners accept within planning law there's little they can do to stop redevelopment of the Mem. Should be fine to replace the East Stand with a similar height structure in the not too distant future,🤞

So far we only have one side of the story, from various local politicians. Greens causing their now traditional chaos trying to delay and distract and then Labour trying to make political capital. We don't have any information from the club or the council planning department. So whilst I can't deny Rovers have probably made their traditional mistakes, that doesn't mean the Green Party are not playing their traditional role of trying to delay/stop any development happening... But it is arrogant to not prepare for such a possibility. But I don't believe that, I think it is rank incompetence, especially as they were warned in advance of the reality of the timescale. It's pure deflection to blame local residents, political parties or individual councillors. It is a sad situation that whilst the club is making great strides on the pitch under Barton, off the pitch we're still at our bumbling worst. Maybe Barton should get a group together and buy the club, might see stuff actually getting done

Great to see JB making good on his promise to have a proper go at promotion. Just a shame the capacity is so reduced with the South Stand cock up. Hopefully resolved by Christmas and a waiting list for half season season tickets
