Back to the original topic. I would be surprised to see JCH play again at the Mem. His farewell was made on Boxing Day to the crowd. Just a feeling.

An internal appointment would be interesting in that we could be developing our own boot room mentality. ( For those of a certain generation )
Could make the appointment of the No 2 more interesting knowing he', or indeed she, will be the manager come next December.
We could be the first club in the country with a Manager Academy.

Great to see our defenders celebrating doing their job so well. Love seeing them rejoice in great tackles, challenges and blocks, like the Italians of the 80's

Whoever it is, hopefully they'll be given a map with their home address highlighted along with the Mem and a contract to Mid December 2020

Wasn't Lee Mansell telling us all a few months ago that he had suffered mental health issues, very honest but surely management wouldn't be advisable suffering from that condition. I wouldn't agree with that. I think anyone who has the emotional intelligence to deal with psychological health issues is a better prospect than someone who throws their toys out of the pram when things don't go their way

Sometimes when you're on the crest of a wave you need to throw caution to the wind and ride it. Holloways passion and character will hit the ground running and carry fans with him. There's better managers and better long term prospects but sometimes there comes the right man for the situation and that maybe Holloway.

It will all come down to how the players react to this, not the supporters. We can shout as much as we like, but if the squad becomes disillusioned then we could easily go into free fall. A quick appointment of someone who will command their respect and lead with some ambition. I was no fan of Craig last season alongside Lockyer. This year he's been excellent in a back three. Managed the defence like a proper captain and shown a great attitude. Reminiscent of some the old guard Gas of yesteryear.

Sad to reflect that I thought Coughlan was a bigger man than this. He signed a contract fully aware of where Bristol is and the clubs finances but he's bottled it.
Good luck in Mansfield I,m sure you'll be adored by the faithful three thousand. In the meantime I'm sure you'll find time to grow a pair.
As they say "it's not the size of the dog in a fight but the size of the fight in the dog"

The thing is, he could well have killed his career with that interview. Surely his position here is now untenable and if he goes to Mansfield there is no guarantee that he will hit that magic formula he has with us. Football is all about reputation and momentum and just sometimes getting lucky. Having just the right players and a bit of luck. I'm sure many managers will admit everything only aligns a handful of times in their careers. To shoot himself in the foot when right on the brink of something that could have made his name is utterly bizarre. That Fourth Division battle of the giants, Walsall vs Mansfield in front of 3815 could be just the boost his career needs

Why don't we run a raffle like we used to with the sponsorship. Would appoint a manager and raise a few quid for transfers.

One lesson for the future might be ensuring the next manager lives within an hour or two's drive away. Had problems with Gerry Francis second time around, Mark McGhee and others. Living or moving closer must be a requirement in future. I think we maybe better getting the club Doctor to check the next manager has got some balls!!

No doubt like many who attended the "Works Christmas Do" last night Mr Coughlan will be waking up thinking did I really say that out loud. "I meant to say that to the wife in the taxi on the way home"
But like everyone else who made a bit of a tit of themselves last night he'll hopefully just go into work on Monday and get on with the job he's paid well to do.

I think if I was GC's boss he'd be in work at 8.30 tomorrow morning to explain himself. Thanks GC for ruining everyone's weekend with half a story. I like his passion and his talent as a manager but that interview was real Facebook fodder. You ok Hun? Xxx

It's funny to hear everyone saying how ALQ should back him when only 6800 could be arsed to turn up last Saturday when we're fighting for promotion. Unless he's been promised something by ALQ which he's reneged on it's pretty clear we have no money to spend. Why should Wael be bothered if the fans can't.
