I'm sure someone can help me out of my embarrassment. Someone asked me what the odd looking structure on top of the South stand at Eastville was. I had to admit that I wasn't sure - I thought it was a commentary vantage point on one level and perhaps some sort of 'executive' box on the other, but on the admittedly only few times I visited the old ground, only one was before it was demolished. My recollection having had season tickets in both the enclosure and the stand itself was that it was the local hospital radio commentary box.

Hoole is having a really poor game, feel he will be let go next year Thought he'd played OK, it's Gordon who's looked out of his depth. Thought both Hoole and Gordon were both absolutely awful. Bad enough to not be picked again. Vale is not a great left back but far better than Gordon and would play Crama at right back until Thomas or Hunt are fit (assuming we stick with a back 4).

Go to matchday centre - it's there Weird it’s just not there on mine. No option to watch. I’ll give it a miss I guess! Watching ok on EFL app on iPad. Will not work on the laptop.

Interesting to note the Leyton Orient forum has the following prediction set-up: (1). The final score, (2). Name 2 players who start, (3). Time of the first goal scored, (4). Overall attendance, (5). Total corners in the game. Too elaborate? Maybe one or two good ideas? Get with it? Who cares? Leave things alone? None of the above? All of the above? Leave things alone!

Lewis Gordon seems to be dividing opinions.
I really want the lad to do well. I love his effort and his enthusiam as shown when he was in the away end at a game earlier in the season singing with the gasheads.
However, I cannot at the moment get my head to come to the conclusion that he is a League One standard player. Was watching him closely yesterday. I thought that he was terrible when switched to right back. Was always trying to favour his left side and foot and put the team in trouble often when players got past him on the outside. I would of thought that if he had ambitions in the game he would have worked a lot harder to make his right foot better. Was better later in the game when going back to the left side and although he did well in the middle third of the pitch, he was hesitant when he got forward and his defending and ability to stop crosses still need working on. His effort though could not be faulted and he was out on his feet at the end.

Not helped by various local groups who will scrutinise analyse ask for more consultation dialogue and will exhaust the process. We have made errors I accept . But can you imagine the difficulty the club will have in submitting more plans?. I'll be surprised if its built within 5 years now we have agreed to the whims of the Green intellects. No difficulty in submitting properly prepared plans. As we've seen with every other planning application for the Mem, the council will approve sensible plans - even if they are large scale and/or significantly change the appearance/capacity of the ground (or even change the usage of the site). The Greens want to keep it as a football stadium, all we will be doing is making it a better football stadium... Only half true. We once had plans approved for an approximately 5,000 seater north end stand but the council put so many licensing restrictions on it ,compared to other local drinking establishments, that it meant that the whole project was abandoned as it was no longer viable. Hence the whole exercise was a total waste of time and cost the club a lot of money. All the fault of the council.

The new statement does not really add anything. However if we are only going for a 16,000 capacity the plans will almost certainly cause a big disappointment as certainly will not include a large new fit for purpose East Stand. Also based on previous comments there will still be standing in the East and West enclosures. If we do reach the Championship then putting seats in the standing areas could well reduce the capacity closer to 14,000.
It will be cheaper in the long run if we do things properly now as opposed to ending up with only slightly better Mem than we have now at a significant cost. If cannot afford to do it all in one go would prefer a new 8,000 seater East Stand (no pillars!) and Thatchers and West side left as they are.

With Evans and Conteh both out for the weekend game. Who the hell is going to play in midfield? Is Jerry Lawrence still here? Assuming no players coming back unexpectedly I would be inclined to play Crama as the defensive midfielder and Thomas as the attacking midfielder. Think that Thomas could easily replicate Stuart Campbell before him and switch from wide man to midfield. Would play 4-4-2 Ward; Hunt, Wilson, Connolly, Gordon; Brown, Thomas, Crama, Sinclair; Martin, Marquis If want to go a bit more defensively for an away match then Hoole at right back pushing Hunt forward and Brown replacing Marquis
