I wonder how JCH will approach Saturday's game, want to prove a point by scoring a goal or two, or hope the transfer will be resurrected in January and so won't want to score against his potential new employers? I think we’ll have our answer if he scores a hat trick of own goals.

Going to pens - a shame they don’t have to play extra time.

Peterborough unchanged team tonight from their last outing at Bolton.Surprised by that (changed the entire starting 11 in last round) and hopefully will work to our advantage. And that’s two away trips they’ve had to make so hopefully that will take its toll as well.

I’d say Ward and Greenslade are rated and decent prospects getting good experience. Hoole and Gordon are first team squad members (albeit down the pecking order now we’ve brought in some experience). Connolly is only 21 and getting first team experience elsewhere (now that opportunities more limited) but I expect him to be in our long term plans after signing him permanently. Macca an important member of the first team squad (if you mean Luke M). Not sure if you’re agreeing that we’ve developed young talent or disagreeing. Worth bearing in mind though that some of the youngsters were inherited by JB and team and so might not have been players they would have brought to the club. I doubt if JB and team have any input into the recruitment of youngsters till they are ready for pro forms, so not sure of youth point. At 21, Connolly is older than the three players you mentioned as are some of the others. Two of the three you stated were selected for prem games, two tiers above us. Coburn on level above. Yet you state ours are squad members. Fair enough. I suppose all I was initially trying to say was we’ve been trusted to take on loan and develop a number of players and three have gone back to their clubs with the experience of being with us and have found their ways into their first teams (maybe that would have happened regardless of us, who knows, but it signals to other clubs we can be trusted with their youngsters). I then look at the signings of Taylor and Connolly, and how Hoole and Gordon have been given chances, and I see a club and manager wanting to, and doing ok at, bringing in and developing young talent. Obviously Joey does like to mix it up with experience and older players too.

So that’s Coburn, Quinsah and Anderson all playing first team football at their parent clubs having been on loan to us. Can only help with our reputation for developing players (although appreciate that one or two haven’t worked out). Hoole Gordon Connolly Macca Jed Ward And others out on loan. How's it going for them? I’d say Ward and Greenslade are rated and decent prospects getting good experience. Hoole and Gordon are first team squad members (albeit down the pecking order now we’ve brought in some experience). Hopefully not like City’s pre-printed champions t-shirts in 1990! I remember that John Kayes bought some for a bargain price, and had "Cancelled - for further details see the Gas" overprinted on them. Would have made a good Del Boy script! Remember these being available at the open top bus tour.

What I found interesting (unless I misunderstood it) was the part about kits for next season being ordered soon. I guess it makes sense that there is a long lead in time for manufacture, delivery etc. but presumably it means the design for next season’s kit has already been decided?!? Yep I can confirm this. Champions 2023/24 written on the sleeves . Hopefully not like City’s pre-printed champions t-shirts in 1990!

Thanks for posting - hadn’t heard that until now. Sounds to me like we’re definitely interested in signing him but there’s still work to do to agree a deal (I’d speculate that length of contract would be more of a sticking point than wages, with CM wanting long term security while we’re more interested in a short-term fix). Hopefully we can agree something and add to our forward options.

Be interesting to see what kind of reception JCH gets from us on Saturday. Do we give a player who may still join us in January stick? Chants along the lines of ‘he wants to come home’, ‘he thinks you are sh**’ etc.?

Gordon failed a test pre match. Looks like we have one center half fit and no left back. Just Grant to cover the two positions. Vale did well at left back yesterday but fairly untested. Suppose we have Hoole and Gibbons as cover for CB and Gibbons has played LB. Suddenly this squad looks light. Any youngsters to provide cover in defense? If Gordon failed a late test then that suggests he’s not too bad. So, I think we’re ok with Gordon, Hunt, Taylor and Grant in defence (thought Grant did well there). But agree that that leaves us vulnerable to one more injury over the next 4-6 weeks (so 🤞). Harvey Vale was good at LB but instinctively played in a very forward position, which worked yesterday but could leave us open on that side against other opposition.

Charlie Wyke went from Mr Cocky Tw** to Mr Egg on Face, although I'm not sure they're real Mr Men characters If Adam Hargreaves (son of Roger) reads this forum then maybe they will be.

Couldn’t make it today, and annoyingly ticket exchange for ST holders to sell their ticket still doesn’t seem to be working (at least for the Thatchers anyway). A pity because the money I built up from the few games I missed at the end of last season has paid for our Oxford tickets.

I’m sure I’ve seen us play Wigan at home since, but the game that sticks in my memory is the 6-1 hammering of them in ‘89/‘90 at Twerton. A repeat of that please!

I see AG will host a Take That concert. Love to know how much money they will make from that. No matter how well redeveloped, I can’t see an act like that ever coming to Horfield and playing at the Mem. A new stadium is crucial. Thank God, Take That and Olly Murs arent welcome Well, I suppose Take That being inflicted on South Bristol is a silver lining!
