How about a white and blue quartered shirt to compliment our Blue and white one?

Gutted he is leaving, has been a truly outstanding player for us. So many amazing Gas memories with him a the centre, DC will have an incredibly hard job finding a replacement with not only his ability... but with his attitude and commitment to the Club.
Good luck where ever you end up next Browner... You are a Gas legend!

We're on about Craig still right? I really can't think of the mistakes he's made to warrant that. Shrewsbury, Wombles, Northampton...and that's just the few i've seen. He is no better than we already had here imo. Are you Sweeney's dad!?! Craig has been solid since joining

Bah humbug you doubters. If Ryan Giggs had done that it would have been goal of the decade. Ellis does it and it's lucky. When Giggs did it, you could see he meant it

I'll go for a cross to Moore (that he wouldn't have got)... I'm not Ellis' biggest fan, but his work rate this season is double that of previous seasons. Easily justifying his place in the squad, Earlier this season I said he didn't score enough from the chances he gets... but he's managed to turn that around... fair play to the lad... long may it continue!! (weaker foot, miss hit cross... take that all day long... and he deserves it this season) Regardless of where the ball ended up, it's great to see he has the confidence to try and whip in a cross with his weaker foot. So many times you see players shy away from doing that. he should 'have a go' more often, he clearly can... in lots of games the player on the ball does try and create a perfect opportunity when just having a go might be the better option. I also think the supporting players don't gamble enough on A: The ball arriving in the box B: The keeper making a mistake... at least one should be busting their balls to get in the box, a bit like Moore for Ellis' goal Saturday, if the keeper gets a glove on it, he's got a tap in... if it's a quality cross... he heads it in....

I'd let Lines go, think he's past it now, Moore obviously has to go. Sweeney won't be returning, think Clarke will go, Parts is a better option. Telford wont be returning either. Is your view on Lines based on what you think of his performances or the number on his birth certificate? Personally I've not seen any downturn in his performance, speed or mobility but the staff will know a lot more about that with the GPS vests the players wear in matches and training. Agree with you on Moore. He's an experienced player and has had the best part of two years to show what he can do. There's no point just making an impression in the final months of a contract. Would anyone have the confidence to rely on him next year? I imagine his wages are quite high and could be put to far better use on new signings. It could be that Sercs has come in to replace Lines going forward (the future, not attacking), and Lines has not needed resting as much as DC thought (or Lines for that), and as you say, there has been no noticeable dip in his performances so we have the luxury of playing them both.

Easy tiger... that’s the same stats as Ellis, you can’t go calling him crap!!! Many in Kingswood did and now have been trying to extricate themselves from their out and out abuse of our own player. Plenty gave him stick, some still do ! I am one of those not convinced by EH, he has taken massive steps forward this year. Just needs to add goal scoring consistency to his game.

* it - he aint that great. 12 goals in 57 games. That's 1 goal per 5 games in L2. Thats 9 goals a season. Who cares? That's an average L2 winger at best, just the fact he's in a crap team it makes him look better than he is. How many did BB get? 13 goals this season in L1? More than this lad in his entire Yeovil career & he left a month ago (Dont forget he was injured for what, 5 games?) Perhaps the lad wanted 1st team football which DC wouldn't guarantee him Easy tiger... that’s the same stats as Ellis, you can’t go calling him crap!!!

There are many small clubs out there with crowds of a lot less than ours that have built small but decent stadiums and acquired and built reasonable training facilities. Why have we failed? I guess it partly bad luck over the years but there must also be an element of owners who have lack vision and ambition. There was always huge potential but no one seems able or willing to exploit this. Very true as Bluebutterfly points out Walsall FC seem to operated at a profit and have a modest stadium, training ground and an acedemy so as you say this should not be beyond our reach if you manage things properly. And they may well have done so by their owners lavishing millions of pounds on those 'small but decent stadiums', we are (as fans) wanting something more than a small decent stadium to build the future of our club. They current owners tell us they have the same vision and are trying to move in that direction. I don't buy the bad luck story, yes we've had some 'bad' luck regarding a new home, mostly born out of poor vision/management from way back in the Eastville days, but they did what they had to do at the time to save the club. Over recent years you could point to low levels of ticket prices increases as part of the problem we see ourselves in now (greater cash flow to the first team budget), along with the lack of development of the resources (Mem) we have had at our disposal. We perhaps should have purchased land to build a training ground at the early possible time and then not wasted money renting suitable facilities. The investment into youth at all levels should help in generating income into the club (if we can find a few gems and get them on decent contracts). And the Training ground is part of that plan. DC has said he thought the club was 30 years behind other clubs, and he's probably right. It's all about how quickly and effectively we can make up that ground.

We have to remember BRFC is a beast that, at the moment only consumes vast amounts of cash. All the things we would like to see... stadium, training ground, players, etc all take even GREATER amounts of cash. There is not one of us, as fans of this club, that would not want to progress these projects as quickly as possible if we had the money to do so... but I'm pretty sure we'd be listening to financial advisors and reading the feasibility studies before rushing ahead.
We have had taken great strides forward these last few seasons, and we need to take stock, review the plans (for growth, etc), and then push on. Out of choice, I too would want promotion at the end of this season (last season ideally) but we have to be realistic.
Keep the faith

If Ollie Clarke is 'woefully out of form', why do you have him in your suggested line up? surely selecting A.N.Other player showing some form would be better... or, judging by your selection, do you subscribe to 'play the home grown talent at any cost' theory!?! Not a dig at you... I'm just curious as your statement and team selection don't appear to be from the same song... let alone song book. Because although he is out of form, I know he is capable of a lot better. We also don't have another Defensive central midfielder. I don't know the stats, but would be interested if anyone does know what our 'form' is like without OC in the side... also, I'm sure I've seen Lines play the defensive role from time to time, I agree it would be a waste of his attacking ability.. but he has done the job.

As I keep saying I am surprised DC has not used a 5-3-2 formation this season, like he used a lot last couple of seasons (especially away from home). That way we can use wing backs (as we don't have wingers) and the two strikers can actually play up front and not out wide. Some have suggested that Bodin doesn't fit into that formation so well but its all about the much needed added protection by including another defender. I'm not convinced the defence is the problem though. I think they are getting too easily exposed to midfield. We only have Ollie Clarke as a DCM and he is woefully out of form from what I have seen. The 5-3-2 may work better away from home and then sacrifice say Nichols. So... ---------Slocombe------- Leads/Part----Lockyer----Broadbent----Sweeney----Bola --------Sercs-----O Clarke------Lines -----------------------Bodin---------------------- ---------------------Ellis------------------------- If Ollie Clarke is 'woefully out of form', why do you have him in your suggested line up? surely selecting A.N.Other player showing some form would be better... or, judging by your selection, do you subscribe to 'play the home grown talent at any cost' theory!?!
