I daren't say anything for fear of being jumped on for my continual 'Barton OUT' rant ....however.....yes the team are starting to get it together (kind of what they get paid for really!!) and I hope it continues. I still believe that Barton is totally the wrong man to have in charge and maybe the players we have would play well for any manager. Of course they are going to sing Bartons praises. What player is going to say 'Barton is a thug' etc and then expect to get into the team the following game!! I will just add that Man Utd have suspended Greenwood before his alleged offences go to court (if they get that far) ....

I still think he is a vile man, regardless of whether he is found not guilty of the charges against him. His results so far are simply not good enough, but even if they were my opinion of him as a man won't change. Ditto!

I'm flattered that someone spent so much time scrolling through my posts to find that! As Oscar Wilde said 'The one thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about!!'

Being on this forum is like having another wife....they remember things you said that you had forgotten about or don't remember saying and keep it in their locker ready to use at the appropriate moment!!!!

Well I do apologise. I don't even remember writing that!! I know I was very angry when we sacked probably the best manager we've had for a very long time but I bow to your very experienced memory for these things. I still think Barton is a twat though!

I have never criticised the Gas in all my 50 years of following them, I always thought Garner should have been given more time and bought my first Season ticket the year we got relegated out of the league. My one gripe is the appalling decision to hire Barton - which I will continue to moan about until the day he has gone. I still support the team and want them to do well but the thought of Barton dividing this club (which he has done!) makes my blood boil. You want to support him....fine but show me what he has done to deserve your support. Damned if I can see any positives about the man. If you don't like my posts (and judging by the 'likes' you are wrong to say 'We're all fed up with it') can I point out the 'downward' facing arrow on your keyboard. Try using it. “I have never criticised the gas in all my 50 years of following them” Didn’t you want to start ‘some sort of protest’ against our owner a few years back? I think you must be confusing me with someone else. I have NEVER wanted to start a protest against our owner, whom I think is a very decent bloke (maybe misguided by other Board members) and I have met him of a couple of occasions and always found him to be a very pleasant man. Suggest you do your research a bit better!

I am glad Garner has gone, the crap he brought to this club was embarrassing, I'm also glad Barton is our manager, I can see good things happening on the pitch That's fair enough. We are all entitled to our opinion and are allowed to differ.

I will ....once he's gone! Point me in the direction of one positive post to do with Rovers that you've made. Anything, anything at all that doesn't involve you're boring tedious obsessive anti Barton rant. We're all fed up with it. Do something else. In other words "Ignore Joey Barton, he's a clown who doesn't have a clue what he is talking about!' Totally agree! Oh here he is, chipping in with his tedious anti Barton post. Give it a rest. I will ....once he's gone!

I think part of the problem is Joey’s critics say he’s a big mouth, he doesn’t put his brain in gear before talking, he says stupid things, you can’t believe a word he says …….. …… and then go on to hold him to everything he says. 🤦♂️ In other words "Ignore Joey Barton, he's a clown who doesn't have a clue what he is talking about!' Totally agree!

So you are comparing the most deadly virus to hit the world for 100 years to Brexit (which some of are very happy about!)? Really? Yep 😀 Brexit will have a bigger hit to the economy than covid In your opinion....but sod the number of lives lost to covid...it money that matters eh?

It still amazes me that some people are still trying to claim covid is no worse than a bad season of flu despite all the evidence out there . It’s normally the same ones who are still trying to claim Brexit has been a roaring success. 🙄 So you are comparing the most deadly virus to hit the world for 100 years to Brexit (which some of are very happy about!)? Really?

With no Rovers game on tonight, I was a little bit bored so I was wondering what’s the best goal you’ve ever seen scored against Rovers? Bit of an unusual question I know. Kemar Roofe’s goal against us a few years ago for Oxford comes to mind for me but I know I’ve witnessed more I just can’t recall them. That's the one that came to mind for me as well.

I know footballers aren't renowned for their intelligence but even the not so bright ones realise that if they say positive things about the manager they are more likely to get a game compared to those who criticise him! It's human nature! ‘Footballers aren’t renowned for their intelligence’? Wow, what a sweeping stereotype for you to post. I happen to think footballers are pretty intelligent.

I guess you could choose to dismiss some of the citations in The Athletic if they are not attributed to the actual player by name (although you can understand why they would choose to remain anonymous). But there were a couple of quotes where the players did allow their names to be mentioned. eg. Ryan Taylor, formerly a team-mate of Barton’s at Newcastle, was another one. “I walked out of Fleetwood, which was all to do with what Joey said to me,” says Taylor. “I broke my nose in a game. It needed fixing but he didn’t want me to get it fixed. I got it fixed anyway and then he told me I wouldn’t play because I had to wear a mask. If I wore a mask, he wouldn’t be playing me. I walked to the boot room, got my stuff and left.”Another player says he felt “intimidated” by Barton’s presence and, specifically, some of the manager’s outbursts at his players. Michael Fowler, now playing for Coastal Carolina University in the USA, moved from Burnley to Fleetwood in 2019, aged 17. “I hated it,” he says. “In the space of a few weeks, I lost complete confidence; and that went on for two years. I haven’t got a clue why he would do or say the things he does. I respected him and he was the reason I went to that club. I was just intimidated by who he was and that, I feel, prevented me from being the player I was even two weeks before.”Yet there are quite a few Rovers players who say very positive things about him - and not just the ones he has signed. I know footballers aren't renowned for their intelligence but even the not so bright ones realise that if they say positive things about the manager they are more likely to get a game compared to those who criticise him! It's human nature!

Yes, amazing how we believe the judges that sent him to prison etc. How gullible are we? And here's another one. Who's got the list? But it's okay, we haven't got a divided fanbase!!

Presenting a false narrative leading to questionable reality of the situation. Blatant distraction from the original point about Barton's behaviour. Surely it's Barton's alleged behaviour? A bit like he was supposed to have headbutted Stendel and knocked his teeth out. You have to love the way the Barton hate mob truly believe everything that's posted about him. Meanwhile, the ones that matter, the players, seem to be giving him 100% Yes, amazing how we believe the judges that sent him to prison etc. How gullible are we?

Can we change the name of this thread to the Barton hater thread please, thet are out in force tonight, music to their ears Maybe you could start a pro Barton thread listing all the positive news articles, good deeds, fantastic examples of man management and wax lyrical about all the wins he has had since joining Rovers. You know, just for balance. You could call it the "I will accept any old sh** and defend the indefensible" thread. You're welcome. Love it!! It would be a very short thread!

What the hell did Wael see in him? ? I am still looking for something positive about him but I have yet to find it. Of all the managers in all the leagues I just can't believe that Wael thought Barton would be the best choice!!
