I mean if there was such a big problem with the coaching practices, surely Joey has had enough time to turn them around given he’s been in the job for a fair while now? Also with Tisdale’s years of experience and success of as a professional manager, find it hard to believe that his coaching was negligent, Garner I can believe. Would like to hear less of these damning sound bites and see more action from Barton now, he’s got his point across. A fair while? Four weeks?

Do you have any comparisons of XG (maybe for, against and net) between managers? The shots information is illuminating but I think XG but would further expand on this? Well I didn't... but I really wanted to see it so made it happen lol View AttachmentHopefully it makes sense UTG Thank you so much for putting that together, really appreciate it. Extremely illuminating but makes it all the more frustrating that we are not seeing the change in results to go with the change in performance metrics. Not exact numbers as I have had to take rough readings from the graphs but it looks like the xGD is something like the below... Garner -0.74 Tisdale -0.18 Widdrington -0.56 Barton +0.32

I'm not sure i've ever seen such a frank assessment of one of our players by any manager.
It will be interesting to see whether the players come out on the side of the manager or Ehmer in their performances.

It would be helpful if they could actually pass the ball better. Other teams always seem to have better stats Which stats are these? Against Plymouth we had more possession, more shots, more corners, more passes, more attacks, more dangerous attacks and a greater XG value. Bizarrely we never really looked like scoring though despite all that!!

Objective data unmatched since 2018. Had BG or PT come out with that I think they would get absolutely hammered on here. I think it's important. Data has a big role in football these days and although results are not yet following it is clear by all objective performance metrics that performances have improved. I fully understand that results are ultimately the thing that matters but XG analysis can certainly be used in conjunction with that.

All things being equal he’s a Premiership level ref.

This is my best estimate around our current squad that are under contract, summer decisions needing to be made and loanees: View AttachmentYou've missed a fairly big one in there - Kyle Bennett. If GasChat fact is to be believed, him leaving would clear up enough budget for about 12 new full time pros.

I think i'd go with the following in a 4-2-3-1 sort of formation although I wouldn't be against the same players in a 4-3-1-2.
Day
Williams Baldwin Harries Leahy
McCormick Rodman
Westbrooke
Nicholson Ayunga Hanlan
Feel Hanlan may be a bit better when not expected to hold the ball in the middle. Rodman did ok whilst playing in the middle against Hull and has more legs than Upson.

Just listened to JB's after match comments. Disappointed with his comments about the referee, suggesting that he was favouring Burton.I saw no evidence of that. We were totally dominant in the first half but missed several very decent chances. McCormick was foolish to kick the ball away, particularly when he's on a yellow already and ultimately that swung the game. Moral is 1. Don't miss good chances and 2. Keep 11 players on the pitch. To be honest I agreed with him. Burton made 21 fouls in the match including 13 in the first half. There were numerous times when they kicked the ball away, stopped free kicks being taken and deliberately brought players down as they were making progress and the ref was very lenient with his cards. To then completely go over the top with a second yellow for McCormick was totally inconsistent in approach.

Lee Brown and Ellis on the bench? What disrespect.

Will be interesting to see whether that’s a 5-3-2 or a 3-4-3.

So, i'm right then? Going from the list, I don't know if there is anything it's missed in this time period, Joey is currently innocent of any wrong doing since becoming a manager? That's an arbitrary line drawn in the sand though. Like saying "I've not sh** myself since I last sh** myself". I'm not sure it is arbitrary though - if you're looking to appoint someone as a manager then I think looking at their conduct as a manager is a fair place to start really. Don't get me wrong, he's clearly no angel but I also think it's fairly clear he's calmed down somewhat with age. Whether he's calmed down enough is open to interpretation really.

I'd argue that the vast majority of those were over five years ago and many much longer - people can and do calm down as they age. Since becoming a manager he is innocent of any wrong doing at all going by that list. He has a court case upcoming for assault on another manager 😂 So, i'm right then? Anyone else feeling big parallels with the Dave Penney season? Hopefully this one works out better than that did.

You have to view this in the context of the time.
September was around the time that the Government were subsidising 50% of people’s meals to pack people into pubs and restaurants.
In that context does playing darts with your colleagues seem that bad?

So frustrating when they show Premiership vs Premiership matches on TV in the FA Cup - surely there has to be something a bit more inspiring to put on BBC One than Arsenal vs Newcastle.
