Wait til the end of the season, Cheltenham will go down and we’ll nick DC, knowing us we’ll get GC back (still a better option) When DC left, he was talking about structure in the club. Unhappy that we didn't have the infrastructure needed. Now, with the quarters we are led to believe that we are getting there. Maybe DC wouldn't be a bad option. If Friend know the players and DC does the man management, maybe we have a team. I love DC as much as the next man but there is a massive concern over his recruitment. He built the conference team which did so well for us but was unable to move on from that whilst here and is still 'getting the band back together' with the likes of Sercombe, Taylor, Harrison etc all these years on.

Sinclair put a photograph on Instagram of him in his Rovers kit, with the caption "Locked in". Make of that what you will - could be he's agreed a new contract? With the greatest of respect to Scott, I really hope not.

Injuries are still a bit of a problem with him? Seems a bit harsh to me! So it begins haha! Haha! Think he’s been playing injured for a few weeks now which may be good timing as I’m not sure he gets back in with our new superstar!

Anyone know whether Bond and Carlisle are part time or full time?

He’s one of the few I would offer a new deal. He’s reliable, hard working and a great injury record. Something that we’ve soon enough of in recent years. I'd be happy if he did stay but also think it might be a good time to move on and go in different direction. He has some excellent moments in games/form but also some inconsistencies. Will be 32 in August and injuries are still a bit of a problem with him. Injuries are still a bit of a problem with him? According to Soccerbase, since he joined he's played 115 games in 2.5 seasons. Seems a bit harsh to me!

I’m sure that JCH will do a deal with Peterborough over what remains of his contract and become a free agent and then I guess it will be an auction amongst whatever clubs are interested I believe that would have needed to happen before the window shut for him to be eligible to sign for anyone this season.

That squad list really does highlight the drastic rebuild, once again, needed in the summer.
6 loans to go back and a number of players out of contract / not really worth keeping.
Obviously exactly which players is subjective but we've only got about 12-14 players that I would expect to be in the squad next season!

Really surprised at what some of our fans would accept for Aaron!
Anything less than £1m would be awful business, we got £750K for Ellis Harrison years ago for god sake!

Would love to swap from the West terrace to the South Stand for a match but needing to get to the stadium shop before 5pm kills it.

To be fair, McCormick was starting to play well this season under Barton until he got injured.

How did we do when Aaron came off?
I thought the double sub ended all chance we might have had. Collins is not on top form but we all know at his best he can do something special, didn’t have that feeling after he’d gone off.

I’ve always thought we tend to play well as a team if Finley plays well but the problem is that his good performances were becoming increasingly sporadic.
Since Taylor has come in he has been a lot more consistent in stringing a number of good performances together. I think this is probably down to more structure in our play in general than under Barton, a change in formation and Grant Ward being amazing.

Genuine question, based on what? I see a lot from people asking for Monk, but he hasn't held a job more than 18 months, apart from Swansea. He's been out of the game for years and has a low win rate too. If your having to ask that . You do not know much about football. I’m also asking that. Perhaps I don’t know anything about football. Can someone explain why Monk would be a good appointment? His stats on pure numbers are not brilliant and it’s also fairly telling that he hasn’t held onto a job for long anywhere he’s been. Genuinely interested in the case for him.

Another away win and another clean sheet.
All whilst playing pretty poorly again.
Funny old game!

Can add Matt Taylor to that list now. Been sacked by Rotherham. That might just change things now. Although he's done an awful job at Rotherham with a 18% win record I have always thought he was a terrific lower league manager. Doesn’t the 18% win record at Rotherham lack a bit of context? He kept Rotherham in the Championship last season which is no mean feat!

My posts re Oxford were nothing to do with the Mafia. It was you who said our current squad was the best since Holloway’s, I replied severa times re DC’s and you ignored all of them. 👍 My posting style won’t change, people need to accept it or jog on wish you would. You have Turned this forum into a very unpleasant place yet can't see it. Completely agree. This forum has really deteriorated since Roadman has returned.

It is possible JCH can buy himself out of his contract and become a free agent. As it stands Rovers down to 1 recognised striker, and Peterborough left paying for a striker they don’t want and might no longer be able to afford under SCCP (Ffp) rules. If that happened, I believe JCH couldn’t sign for anyone else until January anyway. He would have had to have been a free agent when the window closed.

We have recruited really well all over the pitch, other than a striker. Would be really strange to not bring a proven goal scorer in. Possibly negligent! Thinking back it's just what TW/BG did but at least they signed one striker in Hanlan. Ignoring strikers - You are comparing Ben Garner’s team to our current squad? Surely they are miles apart on paper?

I think with some of the players recruited by Joey this summer he might eventually be looking at going with a 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 sort of formation or variant of, with Vale providing an extra option for the left of the 4 in an attacking wing back sort of role, but his versatility means he can slot in anywhere in the attacking 3 behind the CF if we wanted to go with a 4-2-3-1 for example. Harvey Vale (if he signs), Aaron Collins, Luke Thomas, Jevani Brown, Antony Evans, John Marquis etc and maybe even another CF would be intriguing options going forward and I'm excited to see how it all plays out. Could be fun to watch. Barton has clearly wanted to play a 3-4-3 variation since he came here and tried to introduce it several times with very limited success. Looks to me like you’re bang on about this with the squad we are building, however surely you’d want to get the shape work done in pre-season?
