It is possible JCH can buy himself out of his contract and become a free agent. As it stands Rovers down to 1 recognised striker, and Peterborough left paying for a striker they don’t want and might no longer be able to afford under SCCP (Ffp) rules. If that happened, I believe JCH couldn’t sign for anyone else until January anyway. He would have had to have been a free agent when the window closed.

We have recruited really well all over the pitch, other than a striker. Would be really strange to not bring a proven goal scorer in. Possibly negligent! Thinking back it's just what TW/BG did but at least they signed one striker in Hanlan. Ignoring strikers - You are comparing Ben Garner’s team to our current squad? Surely they are miles apart on paper?

I think with some of the players recruited by Joey this summer he might eventually be looking at going with a 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 sort of formation or variant of, with Vale providing an extra option for the left of the 4 in an attacking wing back sort of role, but his versatility means he can slot in anywhere in the attacking 3 behind the CF if we wanted to go with a 4-2-3-1 for example. Harvey Vale (if he signs), Aaron Collins, Luke Thomas, Jevani Brown, Antony Evans, John Marquis etc and maybe even another CF would be intriguing options going forward and I'm excited to see how it all plays out. Could be fun to watch. Barton has clearly wanted to play a 3-4-3 variation since he came here and tried to introduce it several times with very limited success. Looks to me like you’re bang on about this with the squad we are building, however surely you’d want to get the shape work done in pre-season?

You'd have to assume James Wilson starts?
When Taylor signs we seem to be spoilt for choice for centre backs but I still don't believe we have the wing backs to make 3 at the back work.
Weaknesses from your line up are surely the full backs, another option for defensive centre mid (how many games do Rossiter and Grant play between them??) and possibly striker (I like Marquis but how many games will he 90 minute?).

Get him gone. Can’t ever remember belly spilling the ball so clumsy once his whole time with the gas. Glad he ain’t a wicket keeper. Swindon at home last season - very similar.

"Substantial" fees for both Marriott and Stockley. Seems a bit short termist bearing in mind their ages and limited chance of any significant resale value. I think in the lower leagues if you spend 'substantial' money it needs to be on someone you can hope to sell for more in the future ala Peterborough.

I want to get tickets for this - me and a mate are both ST holders and our accounts are linked on the ticket system.
Will it be possible for one of us to buy both tickets? (think they are limited to one each you see).

Joey is slightly unfair on the defenders as I think the defensive midfielders (Whelan no where near, Coutts off the pace a little) are an issue too. Finely and Rossiter when fit would give me much more confidence. Also 10 of the goals conceded in 2 games were his own selection issues. Take those away and it doesnt look too bad. This is not something I have seen mentioned much elsewhere but completely agree. The defensive midfield position is just as much of a concern as the defence, if not potentially more of an issue for me.

It’s a difficult one because we currently have Thomas, Gibson and Connolly all of whom are good options in the middle. However we have also seen Hoole, Kilgour and even Whelan play there this season, all of which I’d like to avoid happening again.
I’d also agree our full back options aren’t as strong.
It would be nice to get a permanent signing for Taylor as being so reliant on loans in a key position isn’t ideal and Connolly and Taylor both as our players would be a really strong sign for the future.

This must be the last game of the Hoole as a centre back experiment.

Not read all 6 pages on this subject but I want to add my comments. If I was involved in either the premiership and EFL, with all information regarding the high temperatures over the next few days, then all premiership and EFL games should be postponed. This would be a health and safety issue to protect both players and supporters, but mainly the players who in all onnesty should not be running about in such high temperatures. How would the authorities feel if any player collapses with heat exhaustion? Postpone all fixture today!s Don’t agree , with all due respect we are talking about professional athletes here , Like i said earlier I have done two 10 k runs this week which ( because I’m overweight and 39 ) took me roughly an hour and ten mins. It was unpleasant but I took all the relevant precautions as anyone with half a brain would and completed both runs with no issue. It would be sensible for supporters with health issues to possibly think about attending but that would be their choice, to cancel / postpone a game of football due to our recent heat would be an over reaction in my opinion. I mean no Ill feeling or disrespect to anyone who doesn’t agree it’s purely my opinion , i hope you read it as that also my friend UTG SAS soldiers have died of heat stroke training in hot weather so the professional athlete argument is a bit moot.

I thought Nick flew out with the others who went from London, isn't that him 2nd right at the front of the photo, looks like his sleeve. View AttachmentMaybe I’ve missed something here but Connor Taylor and Luke Thomas are in this photo so can’t be from Portugal.

I have recently swapped to the West Terrace from the East Terrace and on Saturday entered the Stadium from the usual gate at the Muller Road end of Filton Avenue. I have to say getting through the crowds first at the new ticket office, and then outside the bars and then through the fan zone was a bit much!!
Next game we'll just go in through the gate at the Gloucester Road end of Filton Avenue which should solve the problem I would think.

JBs confidence in himself to deliver has nearly always been at crazy high levels bordering on arrogance … just read his book and you will see what I mean. I actually think he is struggling to deliver the signings we need as his repeated dealings with previous relationships may well be running thin… Maybe someone in from Newcastle ? … but where else will he turn to ? Waels connections at Chelsea have vanished to a Gulag somewhere …’ He is living off of a reputation for developing youngsters … we need experience at CB and the pool is pretty dry by now. The usual trolls will shout me down but IF and it’s a huge IF he gets the bodies in … they could well be coming in to a squad who are bottom of L1 and out of two cup competitions… this was so avoidable…. We had a tough start and needed early reinforcements … Others in L1 have shown that you don’t need to chase unicorns 🦄 to put a decent squad together. Loan players should be the icing on the cake not the main ingredients. I'd love some signings in as much as the next fan but would you not say this is a little melodramatic? It sounds like you want to conduct a post mortem when the patient isn't even dead. Shall we calm it down a little bit and wait and see what happens?

Well I thought so too but… I haven’t had an email and neither have people I know. Maybe because I’m not a new season ticket holder but have just moved stand - may be that this has been somehow overlooked. If you care to read the club statement, you will see that existing ST holders who have been moved to another part of the ground can use there existing ST as the information will be uploaded. Thank you, I’d missed that.

I was sure that the statement on Friday said we would receive an email, that the club wanted us to return by Monday, choosing our preference between e-tickets and a card.
I haven’t received an email.
So, has anyone received the email? Did I read it wrong?

The queues to get into the ground for the first few games are going to be hideous.

Taken from the past month fixtures (since Mansfield on 9th April). This is the team they started with on Saturday - Only Oliver Lobley hadn't started a game this month. And Lobley only played for 27 minutes in which time we only scored two of the seven. Northampton should be fined for wasting the FA's time.
