In a way, Andy Monkhouse, came in at a difficult time for the club, used his experience and helped guide us to promotion chipping in with a fair few goals and assists, certainly did a job for us and faced no ill manner when he left, top bloke!

I got stoned earlier in the hope that deadline day would offer up something to entertain me, sadly I've just melted into the sofa into my pit of despair. "Everybody must get stoned". Yes boss 😂

D.C. puts his hand on his chin and thinks hmmmm ,this squad and defence needs some experience to take it forward and the other players to learn. What I could really do with is a player who has shown he can lead ,has tons of experience at league one and some championship experience. I want winners though players who know how to get out of this division. Let me start looking at players that might fit this role. Hmmm Tony Craig. Has been captain at both Millwall and Brentford. Has played many seasons at league one and has a seasons worth of games in the championship. What about success though ? hmm only four playoff finals for millwall though they did win two. Just the one losing playoff final for Brentford though but he did captain them to automatic promotion the following season. So does this player have the experience im after in league one ? does he have the leadership skills in league one ? has he got experience getting to playoffs in league one ? has he experience of winning playoffs in league one ? has he gained automatic promotion from league one ? The answer is yes to all the above...but is he a glory signing that the forum users want...hmmm...shall I go for my experience of whats needed to gain promotion or follow the wisdom of the forum ? decisions decisions This. Weve been crying out out for an experienced CB since MM left, couldn't care less how old the fella is, such experience can be so valuable to a team and its fans, they can handle pressure on their shoulders and come through in the big games, they slow the game down and play at their pace, Easter springs to mind, I know different positions but he had so much composure on the ball and always knew where to find someone.

You can't blame them, if you get promised something and it comes up short, naturally you're disappointed, still have a slight suspicion Muzzy will make his way back to Bristol tonight. I'm one of them mate. Muzzy going to Ipswich. Well no need to moan just yet, DC may just pull something out the hat, if it goes past 11 and there isn't a winger in the building then everyone is within their rights to moan about it, we've been crying out for width all season and everyone can see it.

Whingers? Definitely. Wingers? Probably not. You can't blame them, if you get promised something and it comes up short, naturally you're disappointed, still have a slight suspicion Muzzy will make his way back to Bristol tonight.

Wow, that's come from nowhere. Very interesting. I'd imagine how he does there will decide whether we need a back up to Broadbent next season or if Menayese will be good enough. Exactly. It's a very important loan for him and us. I think he will do great there, huge imposing CB and has looked fairly decent when he has played, be great for him to go and get some decent FL experience, DC clearly rates him highly as he's just signed a contract extension, Good Luck Rollin!

Such a shame Sweeney hasn't been able to find the consistency of last season, he's been about as useful as a chocolate teapot so far this season. I dunno I think he's pretty useful to be honest! I'll be more impressed when he starts keeping clean sheets, good that he's scored and I'm delighted we are back in the game but it still doesn't take away from the fact he's been poor defensively this season and still has been in this game despite scoring.

I'd already be looking to extend it. He's class, enjoys playing for us and likes the area. He's our biggest asset playing wise and is already worth 10 times what we paid for him IMHO. How much did we pay for him? I seem to remember £150,000? But not 100% sure. Twas less than half of the cost of Nichols.

How've we been doing since the goal? Is Bernie warming up enthusiastically?

Ellis, every day of the week. Can't believe the back lash after he missed one at Wigan, didn't even miss the keeper made a good save!

Moore had his best game vs Oldham at home on the right. That was the game, I couldn't think if it was that or Walsall at home, but he played on the right and Bodin on the left, Moore was fantastic and Billy was poor. On the left, he will pretty much always be ineffective because he can't cross with his left and he's not the type to cut it, his delivery is brilliant with his right and he keeps possession smartly, I think he should be given a run in the side but I can't help but feel DC has already decided on him.

Yeah, I think he’ll mainly play LF or RF in a 433. Maybe on either wing in a 442 once we sign the other wide player DC is after. Agree about bedding him in slowly in an ideal world, but I think our side could do with his pace, skill, direct running etc sooner rather than later. We’re a very industrious team now we’ve lost Bodin, which might be OK for grinding out some more 0-0 away draws, but I fear isn’t going to achieve much at home against Blackburn, Wigan, Shrewsbury etc. Hopefully Mensah and another new winger can provide the ‘stardust’ we lack atm. It's a catch 22 situation. I totally agree with you about needing someone like that now but I wouldn't want to be putting too much pressure and expectation on him too quickly. We were a good option for him from the fact that he can get regular league one football but that can also have it's downfall with the weight of expectancy on him. Yes, looking forward to another winger too. May get shot for this but surprised Byron Moore hasn't been used at all lately. I don't rate him like others but he is at least direct andcould have been useful on Saturday for example near the end. That for me tells you all to need to know about his future at the club. (cue him coming on or starting Saturday lol) I think Moore should be used too, when he plays on the right hand side I honestly believe he's a handful. It's where he stood out when I saw him playing for Crewe, having Bodin play in his position hasn't helped him, he's a much better option than Broom imo

No Nichols then. Nine lives all used up. I doubt that very much, one of the focuses in DC's last interview was that he wants to work on players, likes of Bodin and Taylor had poor records in their first 20 or so games for us
