Cant help but feel we are going to be adopting the 3-5-2 formation this coming season, with so many talented CM's on the books it would be silly not to, especially with the addition of Upson, anybody who has seen him play knows that he controls and dictates the pace of the match, lined up along side Sercombe and Lines we would have a hell of a lot of creativity out there, all we need now is a strong little striker that gets in behind and in the right areas, i pray that man will be Telford but i wouldnt be surprised if it isnt

With Sercs in the middle and Ed Upson behind him, what happens to Lines and Ollie ?? Hopefully have to up their games and find more consistency, well Ollie for sure. Anyway DC loves to change the team so i expect they'll all get opportunities .

I agree that its good to get the best of the football scrap heap, but that really only gets you so far when it comes to ability, a lot of players are released because they do have their limitations in terms of ability, obviously DC is a man that likes to work on players and see's them as more a project rather than the finished article, but if we are to compete at the top end of this league then we need to dip in to waitrose for a couple of bits and bobs, Im happy for the majority of the meal to be bought at tesco as it serves a purpose but you cant keep relying on freebies to get where we want to be, we need accomplished players with football league pedigree.

I'd rather keep Rory and write off Nichols. He just kept disappearing at the end of last season. Anyone notice how quiet the crowd were when he came on as sub? To be honest I would have thought DC would have been more careful with the money but having Stewart telling you how good he was is a bit like Lines telling you how good Byron Moore is. Or in other words both wrong. Nichols will come good this coming season

Why is Sinclair not good enough?! In my opinion, he is the kind of player that can play at any level as his job is and always will be the same, hassle the player on the ball and use positional sense to make interceptions and give the ball to more talented players to do something with, that and the energy that exudes through the team when he is on the pitch is there for everyone to see. He is a vital cog in our machine! But i also fancy Broadbean to have a more solid season, id like to see us with a 3 at the back with Craig leading our Tom's, would love to see Lumley back between the sticks. Gaffney should leave before the start of the season and i hope Nichols does too but due to the investment given to him i cant see it happening this summer. Would like to see more of mensah and im excited about Bagdadi coming into the first team.

I don't see why we have to pussyfoot around him tbh, I think DC needs to publicly call him out on how he isn't meeting expectations tbh, could be the only thing that'll give him a kick up the arse, if it doesn't work then oh well, we get rid. But that's not DC's style and if he is a player who lacks confidence then is calling him out in public really going to help his cause? We all love the team spirit DC's creates but you are now asking him to do something which is totally the opposite. As get rid he's got at least one, possibly two years, left on his contract and cost us £350K, I'd sooner DC keep working with him in the hope he comes good rather than write off £500K+ just yet. Although I'd now play Telford ahead of him a otherwise it seems pointless players putting in an extra shift in DS matches etc. Not being funny, he's a grown man, not a very strong one but still a man, if he can't take DC saying something along the lines of 'yeah Tom isn't in the match day squad, I need more from him but while he's getting it together I need to be able to see if other members of my squad can step up to the plate and provide competition for places' then he's not cut out to make it IMHO, football is a cutthroat business at the end of the day and managers, fans and chief executives want their players to be able to deliver, if they aren't delevering then I don't feel it's wrong to acknowledge that.

Must be total bullshit, there some of the nicest people I've ever meet at Ashton gate, 😂 You're right, I'll always remember the warm welcome I got there before Jpt semi, getting spat on by a group of grown adults as a 12yr old and hearing racial slurs towards a couple of our black fans, top notch supporters them 😃

I like D.C. but I think that’s a sh**e excuse for a player who’s so far been sh**e for us. He’s a forward he should be able to score goals or create goals f he’s played in attack. Agreed but it would be hard for DC to say publicly that Nichols has proved to be a cr*p signing and he now wishes he had not spent all his money on him. DC has got to encourage the lad provided he doing his best but I'll be surprised if he's not back at Exeter next year. It's a shame it's not working out for whatever reason but we are where we are on this one. I don't see why we have to pussyfoot around him tbh, I think DC needs to publicly call him out on how he isn't meeting expectations tbh, could be the only thing that'll give him a kick up the arse, if it doesn't work then oh well, we get rid.

I really have not seen a decent player in there at all. I also haven't seen supporters on his back. He gets support while he is playing. Oh, and he has had a run in the team. He did nothing with that opportunity. Scored more at Peterborough where the fans were on his back .... And the little lad came crying to us because the fans didn't like him, tbh I'm starting to see why they didn't.

Taylor>James>Nichols. Diminishing returns. That's not true though is it? Nichols is a much better player than James. He worries me with his lack of strength but it is obvious there is a player in there. His control and technique are surely the best in the squad and he makes some really intelligent runs. I have faith in him personally. If allowed to have a run in the team without his own 'supporters' on his back then I believe he'll come good. His runs aren't that intelligent, if they were, he'd be getting on the end of crosses and passes in dangerous areas. His technique is better than LJ but that doesn't really say a lot. I hope we cut our losses with him tbh, but while he's on the pitch I will back him 100% even though he shouldnt be on it.

Looked out of his depth at the Wolves game, hardly had a touch,a match in which the team as a whole were excellent,Bola and Parts especially.Last time I saw Telford play. Strange, I don't rate Nichols but I thought the wolves game was probably one of his better performances for us, funny how we see it differently. Don't worry guys, he'll be at Forest Green by mid July.

He's still knocking about doing a coaching role I believe, when him and Mansell retired I was under the belief that they will be working together in whichever role it is they've taken up

Nichols reminds me of Luke James I'm afraid. If anything James had more technical skill. Nicholls is just too lightweight and gets knocked off the ball easily. He didn't intentionally set up that goal against Rochdale, it was a crap header which fortunately fell to our player to score. I don't know who recommended him to DC, but for his league you need physical brutes to compete with the robust defenders we come up against. I think DC should admit defeat with Nicholls, move him on and never do business with f@cking Peterborough again. Yep, let's just flush £350K down the toilet and start again. He's 25k away from being our most expensive signing ever, I think it's already been flushed tbh
