Hasn’t he largely been played out of position on the wing or have I got that wrong? Imagine saying that about Jude Bellingham, good players adapt, guess you would have kept bale as a left back all his career? Seen some daft posts on here in my time but this one will take some beating.

Yes. A concourse underneath It’s bigger that it looks jn a photo. Really ?! I’ll have to have a good nose around when it’s operational , looks are very deceiving. Thank you !! If you zoom in on the picture you can see a couple of workers in the stand for scale.

When we move onto the North end options are more limited - the only option is surely to demolish and build one big high stand similar to that which got planning approval in the late 1990’s. Plenty of space behind to build some quite sizeable bars and hospitality rooms. which approval was this?

Based on nothing more than the words used by the owner in the last interview. He talked about years to come so hardly indicates this is short term.

I seem to remember a Tory “gashead” councillor also supporting a site visit?

Looking forward to the artist impressions/plans for this.
Also looking forward to hopefully seeing some amateur artist impressions and maybe even Lego models put together by forum users with too much time on their hands while we wait.

Agree would be lovely to have something resembling these designs however these kinds of developments are expensive. While the owners seem able to put some money in, surely to end up with a stadium resembling the above, we are looking at a lot of debt? I think we need to wait and see what is planned however I for one would be satisfied with a more pragmatic approach that sees our capacity/facilities improve while not saddling the club with a debt that could become impossible to service should something change at ownership level. I don't really understand that, football isn't like any other business. I imagine very few clubs outside the premiership are making any soft of profit. The new owners surely know what they have bought into, if they want to own a football club, developing it is necessary, to bring success. We are a club in need of new stadium not just a tidy up. We know so little about our owners, still no idea really what they do, how much they are worth. Debt exists everywhere including football and there are plenty of examples of clubs that have ended up in huge trouble sometimes ceasing to exist at all, due to unmanageable debt. if building a top class stadium involves an unmanageable level of debt, which it will unless the owners can just pay for it, then I would rather any upgrades be reflective of what we can actually reasonably afford. Some on here seem to think we need to have a new state of the art stadium regardless of the practicalities and potential consequences or that we are somehow owed it and that it would be a huge injustice were we to end up with anything less. I just don’t understand that viewpoint. The plans further back in the thread didn’t happen because we couldn’t afford to pay for it, there seems to be a belief that we now can and I have seen no evidence of this and the new owners have not indicated this to be the case.

I feel like Holloway is an itch that we may just need to scratch just to put it to bed so he is not linked every time going forward. Once it’s over everyone can put it behind them and move on.

If we're just going to start listing managers that we definitely are not getting from abroad then I'm going with Magne Hoseth Ernesto Erbstein for me. Plays good football with a limited budget, sure he's been dead for 74 years but we've certainly got more of a chance of getting him than others listed. Jack Beby for me, achieved great things at AEK Athens.

As I said on another post, the East was built as a bit of a favour/thank you to the Rugby club for selling the land on which Trubshaw Close is built very cheaply. So it’s hardly surprising that the thing is unfit for purpose and it was probably unfit for purpose back in 1987. Pretty sure trubshaw close was built around 20 years after the east stand was built?

It is becoming worrying that we do not have the money to build a modern stadium with a decent capacity. Wait until you hear about what happened to us in the 80s.

There seems to be a feeling amongst some that the world owes us a shiny new stadium and it would be unjust were we not to get one, don’t understand that mindset given our history. So just because we are used to sh**, we should keep expecting and accepting it? Lets be honest the new south stand looka good , because what used to be there and that the rest of the ground is a complete shambles as well. It is a big improvement on the tents but will look dated as soon as it is completed. Watch Oxfords video for their new ground if you want to see what a forward thinking club should be looking to build. These things need to be paid for, and there are plenty of examples of that being done on tick and almost destroying clubs. We own our own ground in a location I know many fans of teams like Oxford are very envious of. There have been improvements and more appear to be coming, maybe that’s not so bad?
