When a manager walks into someone else's mess, it is still a mess, there's no magic wand, no rabbits being pulled from hats. How many clubs play the sack race merry go round to try to survive and still get relegated? Managers need time and even then they need to right opportunities to sign available players who are a good fit for your plans, sometimes you get them, sometimes they go elsewhere, sometimes they are simply not there in the window. Often it's a lottery even for the best managerial prospects because your squad building efforts are only as good as what becomes available. Even then you factor in injuries and the whole situation because even more unpredictable. Yet many call for the manager's head. If you have a good one be patient www.planetfootball.com/nostalgia/how-alex-ferguson-saved-himself-from-the-brink-of-the-sack-at-man-utd

If Posh have him, could use him but choose not to, what does that say? I say there's something wrong. maybe when it didn't go through last time we found something we didn't like? Who knows! So much chat on here about building a top 6 squad and we want to sign a player that can't get into a top 6 squad? Big no from me. Posh have a strict wage structure of transfer listing their players within 1 year of their contract. I think the way they would look at it is why keep playing him improving his contract negotiations for him when he leaves in the summer on a free vs playing a player with potential who they know they will have for a longer period and hopefully sell on for a lot of money I.e Toney/Gayle etc. I honestly don't think the posh's main focus is winning promotion etc, they are run more like a sustainable business taking the odd gamble here and there in a player to make a lot of money potentially. So keep paying a player but don’t play him? If he’s good enough that’s cutting your nose off to spite your face and makes no sense at all. More to this, not fit, underlying injuries, personality, better options, whatever if he’s not good enough for their top 6 push then he’s not good enough for our aspirations either. When he was with us some said Championship material, quality etc. Clearly not. I still suspect we found/saw something we didn’t like. Move on, look elsewhere

we weren’t absolutely battered today I don’t think we were battered, 🤔 we just weren’t very good ! 🙃💙 2 mistakes at the back, more mistakes made up top. If that had been reversed we would have all gone home happy

We were absolutely battered today. Yes, there were some sparks of life at the start of the second half, and a couple of players actually decided to press (our Costa Rican loanee mainly). But Bolton never stepped out of first gear and still managed to walk through us at will. For all the carrying the ball forward we tried (mostly Connelly), all we did was run it into trouble. We looked dire. Martin is a sly player but looks knackered. LT one who looks like he actually cares along with Connor and Evo. Sinclair giving it his best but spending more time as a left back. Jevani Brown an absolute masquerade of a footballer. Jed Ward not the answer in goal if we are serious about pushing for the playoffs next season. Conteh, Grimsby got one hell of a deal out of us for him, and if that’s MTs level of signing we will be back in league 2 soon. The most worrying is a number of times seeing the players slagging each other off ‘s**t pass’. For me, we have to cut our losses, get rid of MT now and try to find someone who will actually be able to rebuild this squad. we weren’t absolutely battered today

Bolton aren't great away from home and they didn't get out of first gear today. The performance was the same as the long line of dross performances since Taylor took over, and yes I did watch today for my sins. We are nowhere near league 1 standard. The next 3 games will show where we are as they are all against bottom 8 sides, even if we lose all those and fail to score they'll still be posters saying MT needs a transfer window before he's judged! And they may be right

Judge him once he’s had a couple of transfer windows If he had a couple of transfer windows we’d already be relegated. He failed to win an away game in a calendar year for Rotherham ffs. He’s basically turned us into them That’s one amazing crystal ball you have

It was a very muted celebration. But a celebration nonetheless If you score you’re entitled, I dont get the problem

Our record in the last 6 games looks like the name of a Welsh town...we have no chance Talking of our form and Welsh names, the hamlet of 'shwt' is quite apt But it has a nice beach

Sometimes we all need a kick up the arse and we got one.
DC was the man, lead the charge and railed the whole club.
Never forget his interview with 20mana week after we were relegated. The next season he pretty much delivered the whole vision.

Watched Extended Highlights of Rochadale, (the same Rochadale that Harvey Greenslade ran riot in with 1 goal and 1 assist in a 2-2 draw)! The player in question only came on as sub and was average! The one player i was Really impressed with is Cian Hayes, he's on loan from Fleetwood but what a player. Was told he is out of favour at Fleetwood but god knows why is was awesome! quick Strong and Hungry like LT but better and the Rochadale fans love him! Jesus, buying a player from Rochdale. How low have we sunk... 🤑 We once bought a player from non league Stevenage who turned out to be quite good

So it wasn't a great watch, but are there reasons to be cheerful?
Part 1. Clean sheet
Part 2. A few players returning and we looked better for it
Part 3. We have 3 damn good chances to not only win, but win comfortably. Chances squandered and we could all have gone home happy
