It's just a generic AI story. Transfer in the name of Bristol Rovers, Ajax, New England Patriots, etc. and it reads the same. Pretty crude, but shows how even a half-arsed effort can spread confusion. God help us as AI becomes more targeted in the use of propaganda. We have an election coming. Its really concerning this stuff is the new wild west!

First time we have heard about it on this thread and according to the article we have all been speculating about it for quite sometime. Very strange? The likes of Sinclair has been absent for a few games until yesterday, but he has been our worst performer by a country mile in the last 22 games, so would hardly warrant being an influential top performer.. Gordon was absent for a while as well but other than those two, I for one cannot name anybody else who fits the profile the article harps on about. I await the club comment if any will be forthcoming . Gordon clearly went off with a hamstring injury in his last game? The same newsite includes another article about MT, it's clearly a fake new website, I've no idea why the OP etc can't see that? Bit unnecessary Topper
The easiest way to double check something especially if you are not that ofay with some of the detail in technology is check with multiple people who are like minded. Which is what I did. Afterall this is a forum for discussion.

It's a very odd report? It names nobody. It lists no source. I can't find the club statement (at the moment).
Is this the clubs first experience of negative AI?

Not heard anything myself. If true you can only speculate it involves 2 players who didnt play yesterday but have normally been key players. So who didnt feature yesterday ? Wilson Hunt Woods Rossiter Friend Gordon I wondered about Sinclair? As his absence has been unexplained

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. DMac can say what he wants about bids.
If the player does not want to go to X club then he will remain a Peterborough player & see out his contract and leave for nothing in the summer.

Reallstically, I don’t see how the East stand could take 7.5k without either being knocked down or extender higher - neither of which will happen IMO. The current east stand holds 1,000. If you extend it to look in uniform the max you’re getting is 3k. If you Frankenstein it like Carlisle and have different gradients/spacing of seating then you could squeeze in more, but it’ll look ugly. Then there’s the lower east terrace, it has to remain terracing otherwise you’re dropping another 1-2k off the current capacity. In the redesign I did, that stand only holds 4k. IIRC the new owners said 18k would be ideal, but realistically 15k? If they’re going to do this on the cheap then just extending the East stand would take us to 14k. Put a bigger version of the South stand at the north and you’re already at 15/16k. All depends what their plans/ambitions are really. It this a temporary solution or a permanent home? No one’s going to build a £10m north stand with all the facilities if we’re not aiming to stay for the next 10-20 years, I’d imagine I agree with your figures in terms of what an extended stand would hold, I did a back of the envelope calculation on here a while ago. It was 16-17 iirc. If the West stand and South stand hold c 2,500 and 3,500 respectively, the revamped East and North would hold a combined 10,000 ish. Could be a 4&6 or 5&5 split, or a variation of.Lets work on the Low side.... Even if you built exactly the same as the new south stand the full length of the east side of the pitch you would get to 7K. Say 4K North. 3.5 South, Existing West 2.5K Total = 17K

Aaron Collins - ENIGMA indeed.I find myself so frustrated with Aaron Colins wondering what he is doing on the pitch & yet his stats make him undropible! The player I see from the stands can't hit a barn door with a banjo, not stood in the right postion for a number 9 or a number 10! He rarely tackles. When he does & is making defensive tackle its from the wrong side. He has no body strength and falls over when the wind blows. He also takes a dive every time someone shakes his hand? And yet! His stats say most fouled player & most assist's! What do I or any spectator know about football! More of the same please Aaron in 2024 & I will cheer & support but remain frustrated!

The East Stand development is so important. The design needs some thought for future proofing.
I'm really hoping the terrace is taken out & the pitch is moved sideways the depth of the terrace & the "new east stand" starts from that point. This way we would have the space to develop the west stand in the future. Tomorrow we go to Wycombe their main stand holds 4990. This is made up of Upper Tier 2840, Lower Tier 1740, 20 hospitality boxes & a Corporate lounges. This would ideal for "the new West Stand" in the distant future. As for the "New East Stand" my hope is 7k to 8K capacity two tier with proper spectator & hospitality facilities with a Wrap round to the North Stand.
The Sensible (approx) dream capacity: New South / Southwest Stand - 3,412 New East Stand - 7,500 New North Terrace 4,500 Existing Family/ East 3000 (NEW East as per Wycombe 5000)
Target Capacity: 18.5K with an option to extend to about 21k (if needed). If you built a new east stand behind the east terrace in the carpark you could use the terrace the entire time of the build & could take it our after the build was complete then move the pitch across.

From the Bristol Live Today (7am 31/12/2023): (So everyone does not have to the clickbate links:
Matt Taylor has admitted that he doesn't expect Bristol Rovers "to be overly busy" in the January transfer window but hasn't ruled out that there could be additions made to his squad over the course of the next month.
It's already been confirmed by Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry that the Gas have told Posh that they won't be going back in for striker Jonson Clarke-Harris after missing out on re-signing the 29-year-old on deadline day in the summer window. However, that doesn't necessarily mean Rovers won't be in the market for players.
In terms of positions targeted, that's currently unclear but you would assume that adding another centre-back and possibly a striker would help given limited numbers as is the case at left-back with George Friend expected to be out long-term while Lewis Gordon is also side lined.

'Hasn't changed' - Chris Martin lifts lid on his Bristol Rovers future after Charlton bracebristolpost
Bristol Rovers verdict: Robust Rovers, Martin hosts another late show and halfway point reachedbristolpost However, as is always the case, January is an inflated market and you wouldn't expect Taylor to push for a signing unless it would absolutely improve his squad.
In terms of potential outgoings, that's also currently unclear with there plenty of discussion regarding Chris Martin's future after the striker's brace against Charlton Athletic on Friday night. The 35-year-old signed a short-term contract when joining as a free agent in September which is understood to expire on January 26 with no extension agreed yet.
Bristol Rovers striker Chris Martin celebrates his late winner against Charlton Athletic (Image: Bristol Rovers FC) Discussing what Gasheads can expect in terms of business from Rovers in January, Taylor admitted: "I think we've got to be realistic - we're not going to be overly busy. Even more so because we've got a good squad and squad that's working hard together now they're performing in a certain manner so I've got to be careful I don't upset that in any way or throw it off course but you're always looking for improvements. We've just mentioned Jamie McAllister coming in as a coach, it's no different with players.
"But January is the worst market because it's a false market. Everyone's price is inflated. Players aren't available anyway, generally, unless it's at a huge cost. But we want to be proactive and this window and the next one we'll start building towards where we want to take it."
Nothing will happen on January 1 in way of business as the Gas travel to Wycombe Wanderers targeting a third consecutive win, something they haven't managed this season. However, there is arguably the best feeling surrounding the club so far this season after late wins over Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic as well as beating Bolton Wanderers away a fortnight ago.
Taylor has certainly overseen improvement in his squad with the Pirates taking 10 points from a possible 15 over a tough run in the league as well as advancing to the third round of the FA Cup. Now, they travel to a Wycombe side that haven't won in the league since October 7 looking to make amends for their 2-1 defeat to the Chairboys at the Mem back in August.
Asked about the buy-in from his squad and the challenge of Wycombe following the Charlton win, Taylor exclaimed: "[I'm] Pleased. There's nothing better than winning games of football, especially scoring in the last minute and the manner of the wins but also performances as well.
Bristol Rovers manager Matt Taylor celebrates his side's 2-1 win over Portsmouth (Image: James Whitehead/PPAUK) "We're away from home playing against a good team. It's a different challenge on New Year's Day but we've finished the year strongly, it would be great to start it well as well.
"It was a poor start from us tonight. Charlton hit the crossbar early and had a couple of set piece moments and that was their only moments in that first half, possibly over the course of the game, so we have to start better than we did tonight. And I've mentioned set pieces, there will be a physicality in Wycombe's team, there always is, so we have to be so strong in our mindset of what we want to achieve when we go there. But it's generally a good pitch and there's space there which will suit our football and players and the type of players that we've got.
"But it's a good game of football. I hope we go well supported. I'm sure we will on the back of the Christmas period and the results that we've had. Not only is there a bit of a confidence in the group, there hopefully is in the stands as well but then it's all about backing it up. To make it three wins on the bounce would be a special moment because then we go into an FA Cup weekend where we get a little bit of rest and recovery from the league I suppose."

I would be saying to JCH's agent. I know JCH wants to come back to Bristol. We will sign him on a free in the summer with a big signing on fee. Tell JCH to see out your last 6 Months at Peterborough. Refuse any contract offers from Peterborough or any transfer proposals put in front of you. In the meantime Rovers should do a deal with Chris Martin until the end of the season with an option for an extension based on goals & appearances.

Without doubt the best striker on the 6 yard line in the division at the moment. Also holds the ball up as good as anybody. But..... his mobility & pace is a like an elephant on an ice rink! Useless elsewhere on the pitch. Between Martin & Marquis we have one good killer striker. Half each! Deserves a contract but not too long! 6months, 12months but not longer. Give an option for option based on appearances after that.
We need some pace running at defenders

Spoke to Lee yesterday and he mentioned they needed a good window so I am surprised by his sacking, I am sure he is as well. I only caught up with him re McAllister and he said we would have a brilliant management team if he joined us. I think he needs to look at Paul Trollope now and perhaps admit he’s more suited to coaching or something else in football, DOF or scouting etc. He gets a lot of banter on here as I do because of my friendship with him but he is a good caring person. When my best mates wife died in March, Lee flew down from Edinburgh and missed training at Hibs, some could say he should have put his job first but he didn’t, he actually let McAllister take care of things for the week to be there for our friend. Nice post Roadman. It gives the human side. But I still don't want him here.

Messing about on photoshop. This is what the East Stand would look like if extended north and south and seating continued to pitch level (click to enlarge). Good job with this! It gives ideas Out of interest how many seats do you reckon this would be? If i have got my sums right this is over 7000 seats
