In January
We DO NOT need JCH. offer Martin a longer deal. Any money set aside for The JCH transfer spend on Minimum one ideally two decent Central midfielders
Definitely threw the points away today!

Have heard Taylor isn’t interested , too soon after leaving Rotherham, Mangan going to be given 2.5 year contract From Whom? Would make you as a newbie more credible if you could quote a source. Just in case it's the guy down the chip shop who swears he's Elvis...

Interesting to read about the 34500 capacity stadium proposed for the Euros in Northern Ireland "The new stadium was originally due to cost £76m, but it is now expected to run to at least £110m." puts the cost of a large purpose built stadium in perspective ..... We Would'nt have to build to International Stadium or National Stadium standards so you cost a lot less. No Question thro you are looking for Financing for approx 50M+

15-20,000 is fine unless we are regularly challenging for promotion to the Premiership, and the rare cup tie. Either of those would be nice. MY Point is about building in such a way that we are future proofing upto about 27K

Future ExpansionI would be very disappointed if they did'nt plan for future expansion. Looking at UK city's of equal size around the country, They have two or three stadiums bigger that the two that Bristol has. A stadium is community asset & I would be going toe to toe with the planners about the Infrastructure getting to & from the stadium. That's not down to the stadium user. Looking at Numerous stadiums the land at the Mem is more than Big enough for 40K stadium. Specifically looking at the Redevelopment I would like to dream to see the following over the next 10 years: Phase 1 - Underway New South Stand Phase 2 - New East Stand at Pitch Level but the front of the new stand at the back of the current terrace. Capacity 7500 to 9000 Phase 3 - Move Pitch towards the new east Stand (width of Current Terrace). Phase 4a - Extend "New" South stand Finishing about Level with the back of the current East Stand Terrace. Capacity Approx 3500 Phase 4 - New North Stand Two Tier. Capacity 5000 to 6000 Phase 5 - New East Stand full length of the Pitch But Starting about where 10 m inside the current Pitch lines because we have moved the West stand over: Capacity 7500 to 9000 All of course with the bars & corporate facilities. Doing it this way you you could get to a capacity of between 23500 & 27500. If the Owners were brave they could have the capacity they desire. As they say "Build it and they will come" In Bristol as I see it (Ie the old county of Avon - Bristol, South Glos & North Somerset) There are a Million People. Even if you you went for the most adventurous numbers here you would only be accounting for seating of less than 6% of the population across AG & The Mem. Unfortunately any planning application of this type will require a travel plan, the one for the South Stand needed one and that wasn't changing the capacity much. Bumping up the capacity as we are planning, means we'll need to have a plan in place. This is the clubs responsibility and no one else's. As mentioned elsewhere our six fingered friends put on shuttle busses to the park and ride for example. This is what I mean about going Toe to Toe with the local apriority / Planners & ultimately you would win. This is happening in Newcastle & has happened in Liverpool with Anfield. It would be a fair time before you would really push there boundary's Based on my Hypothetical development plan (in round figures); Capacity during Phase 2 - 9900New South Stand - 3400 Current North - 3500 Current West - 'Say 2000' Capacity during Phase 4 - 12900 (14400)New South Stand - 3400 New East Stand - 7500 (9000) Current East - 'Say 2000' It's only at this point that would you be into unchartered capacity's at the Mem but you would have the Space and the ability to really challenge the Non stadium things that would stop expansion. You could also review exactly what we needed Capacity at Start of Phase 5 - 15900 (18400)New South Stand - 3400 New East Stand - 7500 (9000) New North Stand - 5000 (6000)

Footprint of the Mem is bigger than Goodison Park for example at Nearly 40K

Made hard work of it in the end. I really don't know what's happened to Marquis, Sinclair, Collins all look lacking in confidence? Just a lack of conviction when they are about to shoot, it's a bit half hearted. We made enough chances to win three games tonight. You can add Brown to that list too!

1) John Eustace 2) Paul cook 3) Gary Rowett Hard No's 1) Carl Robinson 2) Steve Cotterell 3)Dean Holden From way back on page 1 on this thread! Karl Robinson still at 1/1 for the fourth day! I'll be absolutely gutted if we end up with this jobbing manager on the merry go round! Would also like to add Andy Mangan (Was open minded until after the Reading Game) & Gareth Ainsworh to the No list. Come-on Rovers be brave push the boat out & get Cook or Eustace. www.bettingodds.com/thesackrace/teams/bristol-roversIn other Managerial News Fankie boy has been desperately hawking the CV around saying "I used to play for England, I was quite good" & it looks like Oxford could have just bitten! www.bettingodds.com/thesackrace/teams/oxford-unitedIf we end up with Robinson & Oxford up with Lampard I predict we will end up bottom 6 & Oxford will end up between 12 & 7th. IE both teams will go backwards.

As Requested Moved to the Correct Thread.
Our View of Last Night
Cox 5 - Worst distribution game since he has been with us. Put us under real un-nessacary pressure at times.
Grant 4 - Being played in too many different positions by both JB & AM. Not sure he knows what he's doing at RB! Got done far too much! Wilson 5- Not match fit & made too many mistakes. Protected by Taylor which saved his blushes. Taylor 8.5 - Won everything in the air thankfully covered Wilson & Grant. Did more work than he should have! Friend. 5 - Some positive's but I would like to judge him at CB, not LB. Concerning lack of pace & the turning circle of HMS Ark Roayal
Findley 3 - So inconsistent game to game. Team has moved beyond him. A move to League Two must be on the cards in January Woods 7.5 - Excellent game (except one big mistake that lead to the goal) - Out of position time and again but this is because he was covering Finley & forced to make too many covering tackles from Finley's errors Thomas 7 - Looks soooo frustrated! Tried to get us going but gave up in the second half. Clever back heal for Brown. Martin 6 - Missing apart from the run through & shot for the goal. Looked slow on occasions but no question he is a proper goal scorer! No real support. Collins 5 - Just looks so uncomfortable on the wing sometimes Brown 2.5 - Worst game so far in a Rovers shirt.
Subs …
Bogarde 6 - Played almost as a sweeper at time rather than a midfielder. Played behind Finley not alongside him. Marquis 6 - Did Okay but needed to be on the pitch sooner. Vale 7 - Changed the game and excellent assist. Needed to be on from the start. Crama 5 - Did ok when on - better than Wilson. Gibbons 5 - Gave away a Pen fortunately not given. Another Struggling to look like a League 1 player
Referee 7 - Really good game until the Marquis Pen & red card that he should have given for stopping a goal scoring opportunity. Compounded the error by evening it up (in our favour) when Gibbons gave away a foul which should have been a Pen. Stadium 7 - First visit & its facilities are appalling for a new-ish stadium. lack of bars, food outlets inside in the dry. Access to the stadium & parking difficult! View inside absolutely perfect. Gasheads 6 - Good following but noise & away "atmosphere" was nullified by the home drum. A good example of how to use a drum & the effect it can have!

Saw the firework thrown into the home end & I must say that was one of the most stupid & irresponsible things I have seen at football.
Unfortunately there was a second incident with fireworks. When the tennis balls came onto the pitch lots of people took the opportunity to have a comfort break. On the stairs just above the disabled section a Supporter knob end let off a banger. This was as everyone was walking down the stairs people ended up standing on it as it went off & someone got hurt (only minor). Being only about 2m from it my ears are still ringing now!
