Which one? Think they should have had 3, yet the one they got wasn’t one! Positives though today, we looked good again, Bodin should have scored, disallowed blatant goal, their Keeper pulled off some good saves! Play like that with a couple of additions and we’ll be fine, just got to get behind the team and DC now! Big month coming up! So you don't count the two occasions when Blackburn players were pulling the shirts of our strikers in the penalty area? Maybe so, but I’d say you’re likely to get a penalty for handball and Smith taking out their striker than pulling shirts that goes on all game unpunished. By the by, it’s happened now!

Are we just ignoring the fact Blackburn were denied a blatant pen (and probable red card) before we scored? Which one? Think they should have had 3, yet the one they got wasn’t one! Positives though today, we looked good again, Bodin should have scored, disallowed blatant goal, their Keeper pulled off some good saves! Strange that the providers come from Brighton just as our new Commercial director did. Is this a deal that was done at the outset, or was it genuine? Where are our Clarks Pies? I’d blame the White Knight, I hear they were bringing the Clarks Pies, along with UWE and our chances of winning the World Cup...

It's all smoke and mirrors. If all the items indicated in the article were outside our remit, why were the landing lights ever on? This is spurious crap put out either by the author or requested by some other interested party for their own reasons. How has the Mem gone from being a non starter to a possible profitable stadium in no time at all? The answer is it hasn't. We all know it and most of all, our owners know it. If there were to be redevelopment, you can bet your life it would be cheap skate and a patchwork quilt of a job. It would be the lowest capacity possible, with a few bits of gym equipment etc. Sadly I believe this all to be a sop, to placate the fans who in truth have been let down badly. As Topper has said, the feasibility study would have shown what was required, and if it couldn't be enacted, that was the end of the project. So what then took so long to bring it to a head? Remember our two former partners in the project (Cunnar and the other guy- sorry about any spelling errors). Why did they disappear like they did? The truth is that by the time we all realise that the Mem regeneration won't happen, or at the least it will be tacky, the UWE opportunity will have disappeared. Then we will have no choice but to accept whatever we get fed. It's long since time that UWE who have been painted as the bad guys in all this, gave their full version of what happened in the talks , not to mention that Rovers should as well. Remember, they were discussing heads of terms over the issue. If the article was anywhere near true, the talks would have been called off much earlier. After 40+ years of economy with the truth, it's all happening again. How people keep falling for it defies belief. I hope I'm wrong, but after years of bull, and a well established trail of it, I am staggered about how easily the fans have accepted yet another kick in the goolies without a murmur. Perhaps this is all we deserve if we are so easily conned. If ever we needed a white knight, it's now. Give your doom and gloom a rest FFS!
What we don't need is a white knight! We have owners, we have owners that want to push Rovers forward, just because you missed out on some commission from I take it your mates failed attempt, doesn't mean you have to bring us all down.
There is no consortium, there is no white knight, there is however the Al Qadi family who are improving Rovers slowly both on and off the pitch!

The sooner he's let go the better, then the FA board can follow! I'd say we're as bad now with the football as we were in the 90's with the cricket! What happened there? All the out of touch board got given the boot and started again!
Southgate is a complete hypocrite who's massively out of his depth!
Saying that, I bet we snore ourselves to the final and win 1-0...

At the end of the day, some Rovers fans don't want to see us succeed, they prefer us to be a rag bag club, happy to see us fail just so they can say 'I told you so'. They would hate to see us climb the leagues and only care about that lot south of the river!
Yes we have NIMBY's etc, but we also have our own fans who just don't like change.
That's life I'm afraid!

Has to be said at least they're trying. Genuinely why can't they improve the clubhouse? Is it listed?(stop giggling) Is it riddled with asbestos? The Bristol Room still has a skittle alley ffs.
I emailed Tom when he was announced, and fair play to him he replied straight back.
I asked why we don't have a shop at The Mall (being South Glos an' all), with the footfall they have there, the M5 etc, all the south west plus it's due to be expanded by a third we'd be silly not to take advantage. Tom replied and said it's usually price of the unit, they charge a premium (negotiations to be had I feel, especially with the amount of empty units they have there).
I then mentioned Tesco's at Yate, since the rebuild in 2011 it's had 3 units on the side that have never been used, 6 nearly 7yrs of zero rental income, Tom said that when he was at Brighton this one was area he was going to look at, so could be an option for something similar (obvs there's other town centres).
He did say that Rovers will have to sort their own shops out first before looking into other options.
Also - Why don't we just make our own Skittles team, then they can get money midweek too behind the bar!

With our problems down the left could we play Browner at fullback and Bola slightly further forward in a 442? Fullbacks and wingers seem to have similar traits in today's game so might work? DC could have done the same with Leads in the past on the right but has never tried it. Been mentioning this for ages, with Partington so relaxed, he would compliment Leads I feel.
Also for me (my opinion) Bola was my MoM, he read the game unbelievably well for someone so young, even when I thought he had been done he was very quick to get into position and win the ball back, DC has to play him at LB now!

I guess from this Bodin can do no wrong and Harrison no right? I wouldn't have been shocked if Bodin was taken off, he was poor Saturday and again tonight, may need a kick up the arse! I wouldn't even be shocked to see him benched Saturday, but we all know he'll play! Harrison was everywhere tonight, looked strong, winning headers, pressing high, basically everything Gaffney gets praise for, he's only fault was finding the net, but he should have actually stayed on the pitch tonight! When Gaffney came on there was a massive improvement in the midfield being able to find a striker because he came off his marker. Maybe there was more movement into the right places instead of Harrison being everywhere? Really? Thought our whole midfield outfit was poor tonight! The amount of times Nichols had to drop deep into midfield to find the ball was beyond belief! Sercombe was off, nobody wanted the ball. Browner throw in...everyone walked away, hid behind a player, it was embarrassing! These are pros ffs!

Yatetown - Harrison had 2 very good chances - one in first and another in the second - he didn't even hit the target with them !! So NO - as a striker he had a disappointing game tonight. Bodin, didn't have a blinder but he wasn't poor - he improved as the game went on - one exciting run and roll back set up Nichols whose shot was well saved, he then set up Gaffney brilliantly for his goal. I guess from this Bodin can do no wrong and Harrison no right? I wouldn't have been shocked if Bodin was taken off, he was poor Saturday and again tonight, may need a kick up the arse! I wouldn't even be shocked to see him benched Saturday, but we all know he'll play! Just sent this to my mate, might be some fine tuning needed, but general picture.
Match report -
Blowing an absolute gale with wind (towards the North stand), Oldham win toss and swap ends, meaning we're kicking with wind behind, not bad, I checked the weather, conditions improving ever so slightly in the second half (less rain basically).
With this weather advantage, we had zero long shots! I must have watched their keepers kicks a handful of times not reach the halfway line! Our first shot on goal was our keeper, that's how windy it was!
We pressured well and had a couple of opportunities in the box but couldn't finish.
Harrison playing well!
Second half -
Within 5mins our keeper has a goalkick, it doesn't reach the halfway line (shock), what's more of a shock, nobody is within 20yards of their player, who runs forward and smashes a shot from 30yards back over the keeper! 0-1 Oldham!
Lines comes on for O.Clarke (little surprised as Bodin may as well had not been on the pitch again)
Gaffers on for Harrison (again surprised as Harrison was actually playing well) Within 3mins of Lines being on the pitch, he chips a ball forward, which (surprise surprise) the wind catches and goes nowhere near the intended player...what has he actually been watching for 60+ mins?! (He manages to do this a further 3 times, all of which fails).
Then their big number 9 gets the ball, Bodin (who can't tackle) fails, loses his man and when number 9 receives the ball back, he shoots (scuffs) a shot from the edge of the area and it goes in the near post! 0-2 Oldham!
Rovers start to press, passing left to right to work an opening, actually looked good, ball falls to Moore with an open goal, the ground know its goal apart from Moore, he decides to slice it wide!! He's then instantly subbed for Dom Telford!
Rovers again press, Gaffney appears to create something of nothing and shoots from just inside the corner of the box and goes between the keepers legs! Game on 1-2!
Rovers then press hard, with the fans behind Leads wins a freekick on the right side, about 15 yards from the corner of the area, Lines hits a hard freekick, and Sweeney knocks it in! Delirium! 2-2 only one team going to win...
Oldham hump the ball forward to their lump number 9, he's in the corner, Bodin, Leads and one other around him, all 3 just shield him, not one tackle made, he passes the ball, ball is crossed and they score with a header off the underside of the bar! 2-3 Oldham!
The best bit was when fat Gerrard (not sure if he's related) swan dives on the ball on the pen spot (obstruction), players everywhere, Telford takes a swing and kicks Fat Stevie G, booked! Ref then gives drop ball on the pen spot which they win and clear! (Everyone was confused with the decision, drop ball seemed a weird decision, I thought it may be an indirect free kick, but obvs not)
Keeper (Smith) at fault for first two goals
Lockyer - played well Sweeney - played well Browner was browner Leads - poor, frightened to take players on, weak
Sercombe - worst game so far Bodin - Not sure he was on the pitch Moore - Ok good first half, sh**e second O.Clarke - below average Lines - below average (did get an assist)
Nichols - Ran a lot, has an unbelievable touch from the air, almost scored (looked frustrated)
Harrison - played well Gaffney - played well (scored)
Telford - looked a handful when he came on.

Alex Bruce who joined Bury at the begging of August, has now left Bury and is a free agent.
He was only there to train and gain fitness, he had a non-contract agreement, he stepped in when they were short due to an injury, that was all.

Oh my f**king god, what a bunch of absolute belters the first lot of posters are on here! I hope you'll be back on here starting a new thread with your tail between your legs! Utter disbelief! Still gobsmacked.... Wow! Are you attacking the posters not the posts? Oh yes so you are, so you can have some back. The only belters on this thread are the condescending happy clappers like you who seem to think the way this whole sorry episode came to an end with no direct communication from the hero worshiped AQs to the fans is all fine and dandy. Likewise Hamers totally disrespectful "we can be the new crazy gang" sh**e, that's all ok too! This is 8 years of planning and costs down the pan which if it's genuinely for the best then fine but to me and many others this feels like a lowering of our ambition and a lowering of our expectations because there has been no meaningful communication. If me and others getting upset about that makes us belters then it makes you and the other happy clappys not getting upset Sh1!heads, because you seem to be as happy as they are! Haha, cheer up sunshine Jesus! I'm no happy clapper, but unlike the belters on here, and clearly you're in that mix too, I'd rather have no stadium than have one that turns us into Coventry! You're clearly part of the rag arsed Rovers that prefers utter sh**e, but I'd prefer to move with the times like we clearly have done in the last few seasons! A wait for the right result is better than administration!

www.gazetteseries.co.uk/news/15451191._Door_still_open__for_Bristol_Rovers_to_move_to_new_stadium_on_UWE_campus__says_vice_chancellor/?ref=rss'Door still open' for Bristol Rovers to move to new stadium on UWE campus, says vice-chancellor PLANS for Bristol Rovers to move to a new stadium at UWE’s Frenchay Campus could still be salvaged, says the university’s vice-chancellor. Dwane Sports, who own the club, announced last night that they would no longer be planning to move to a new 21,700-seater stadium, abandoning more than six years-worth of planning after they were “unable to agree acceptable terms” with the university. They added that they would begin looking elsewhere for a new permanent home. Plans had been in the works for more than six years, with the club looking to relocate to the "UWE Stadium" on the Frenchay Campus from the Memorial Stadium, with the construction of the stadium, and a 1,270-space car park for the university. A statement issued by the company on the football club’s website last night said: "Dwane Sports is disappointed to announce that its discussions with UWE regarding a potential stadium development for the Club have been brought to a close as the parties were unable to agree acceptable terms. "We will now immediately turn our attention to exploring all other opportunities for a new stadium or for a substantive redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium, whilst at the same time continuing to develop the new Colony training ground. "We would like to thank the Club's supporters for your continuing patience as we continue to work on this very important project." But in a statement released this morning by vice-chancellor Steve West, he said that the university “has not given up on this hugely important project” and that “the door remains open for a deal to be struck”. The statement said: “UWE Bristol has not given up on this hugely important project. We have been and remain committed to delivering a new stadium and were disappointed to hear from Dwane Sports that they wish to bring negotiations over the proposed stadium at UWE Bristol to a close. “We have always wanted the stadium project as part of our vision for the University and wider Bristol community masterplan for the Frenchay Campus. We still believe it would bring great benefits to the university, local community and the regional economy. “We have worked diligently and patiently with the new owners of the club and although we have been disappointed by the slow pace of negotiations, we are still willing and open to continue negotiations. “This has been an initiative the university has been working on for over eight years and we still believe is deliverable. Planning consent does not expire until January 2018 and the door remains open for a deal to be struck and the University will continue to work on this project." So, the question is...Are Dwayne Sports playing hardball? They know UWE want it, DS want it, but no agreement, so by walking away it may force UWE's hand to come back with a more realistic agreement?

New training ground, backroom staff bigger and better than ever, DC highest paid manager in our history, fees paid for JP, TN, LS, Improvements to the mem/pitch. Some people spout some crap, remember the mess we were in under NH? unless a plan b stadium is magiced out of nowhere then I'm afraid that is all well and good but won't progress any further from our current position. DC will have his head turned. New academy players if any good will be approached by other clubs and have another reason to not stay. staff can be let go as quickly as they are hired to cut losses. Live I hope that there is a plan B..will have to wait and find out. Belter alert 😒😒🤦🏼♂️
