Can't help thinking that your comparisons are a little over the top. George Martin, The Beatles and Einstein, yes. They compare with Mildy, but Churchill not in the same league.

Josher Watling. (Oooh, so close!) Whoops! Sorry pardon. But the fact that I'm old enough to remember him (very well, actually) explains the reason I got his name wrong.

Loads of posts on here earlier in the week to say how poor Hartlepool were, apart from the right-winger who was their best player. Browner coped with him well, and still got forward to make some telling passes/crosses. I don't think there are many better left-backs in this division. (I see 'pools won 3-1 away at Barnet).

Apparently there was a meeting between the new owner/chairman and UWE yesterday that was quite positive and it has moved a bit closer to fruition by the signing of another piece of paper between the sides Didn't Neville Chamberlain get one of those pieces of paper a while ago? Must be good news, then.

Unfortunately guys this is not the deal you believe it to be - the current Board stay on - and a scaled down UWE with little money for DC (or his replacement) At least the Wonga loan will get repaid on time. That's not unfortunate - I do so hope that you are right. Let's do things the proper way, not buy our way to the top. The financial help is welcome, though!

So its not the Prince who you first said, and not his brother either who you also said? It's actually Prince who is taking over the club. Philip or Charles?

Don't know who you are referring to when you mention the "original consortium". If you were referring to the American connection, I think it has fallen apart. One of the Interested Parties that NH was referring to when he said that he was unable to obtain proof of funds.

Will never forget Paul Bannon. He scored a goal in 4-2 home win against Warsaw. On Feb 18 1984. It was the day our first son was born. I got called out of the match to attend the birth and missed all the goals bar the first one.Bannons goal was his first for Rovers and the only goal witnessed by myself that memorable day. So not a real fan then A real fan would NEVER leave a game for something so unimportant as having a baby! Sure you're not a 'ted? But are you sure that tbone is not female (despite the name)? Some excuse, surely, if she is the mum?

Lots of people seem to be waiting in hope, but am I the only one who is waiting in hope for confirmation that the talk of foreign investment is pure imagination? Do I want a successful Bristol Rovers owned by a Middle-Eastern consortium - NO. Do I want Rovers to be the hobby of some super-rich tax avoider named after one of the high points of Bath - NO (though that would be not so bad as the first option). Let's gradually work our way (with a good manager and team) onward and upward. I've watched Rovers since 1953, and they have never been as good as those first few years, but I have enjoyed being a Rovers supporter. The few good times vastly outweigh the bad times, and we are PROPER supporters of a proper football club - so keep your shekels would-be foreign investors says I.
Rant over.

Nothing is Gona happen!! If something did then they wouldn't announce it this late in day Well, I for one am glad that the announcement hasn't been made before sunset. It will be nice to see the fireworks, as well as hearing the whistles and bells, when the announcement is made - just before midnight I reckon.

I looked up into the sky just now, and thought I was looking at the moon. Then I realised that it was just a big pie. Of course, the pie might just possibly hit me in the face on Monday, but somehow I think my features are safe. The one good thing about this thread compared to "A new beginning" is that, whilst A.N.B. has dragged on for weeks, this one will be sorted by Monday midnight at the latest.

If we are about to be taken over by a billionaire then I'm sure we will not be so worried about Taylor. It MT has signed a pre contract with Hearts it means he does not want to play for us next season.
Why would anyone want to keep a player who does not want to play for us.
My problem was, if this info gets out and Matty has a bad game(s) and misses easy chances he will get some fearful stick from certain sections of our supporters.
Yeah. Well, my brother's mother-in-law's hairdresser definitely saw him walking by the Mem wearing a kilt and carrying a set of bagpipes. And he was eating what looked like a haggis sandwich. Proof positive, I think.

I travel the A350 route regularly on business trips, it can be the quicker option but often slow traffic and farmer Giles can make for a long and tedious journey. I have also followed the motorway route and more times than not is the better bet. Safe journey people. Sorry to hear about your Farmer Giles. Put some cream on before you leave.
