Fligh out on the 17th and fly back on the 4th December Would love to stay out for whole competition but couldn’t get the time off work. My company was very generous in offering to pay me in full for the time I am going for. Just over two weeks is still decent though. I'm currently going to 16 games. Will be 19 if England go all the way. Sold a couple of other games. I have to work as well so it's going to be pretty much non stop for me for four weeks! Very much looking forward to it now, hectic schedule too as I do need to squeeze some work in between. Is it true only residents can buy booze from supermarkets?

To be fair I only checked the airport run, I’m expecting all journeys to follow suit soon to be fair. It’s free public travel services with a Haya card so not overly bothered. One of the lads in our England planning group lives out in Qatar and fair play to him he’s messaged most bars/hotels and restaurants asking about happy hours and deals etc.. and passing us on the details. I think its expensive from the airport now because they have banned curbside pick ups and massively increased the car parking fees so the Uber's probably have to pay to use the car parks now. The metered taxis are still the same price and Uber prices around the city are looking the same. Of course they will increase in price because of the higher demand but not by x4. As you say, just use the metro and buses which will be free! How long are you coming for? Lots of talk of bars removing there happy hour deals leading up to the big event trying to cash in on the fans Uber or Qatari equivalent have done this too hiking prices as much as x4 the amount. Shock horror as football fans get ripped off……again ! 🤬 I always expect it to some degree but x4 the price does take the p***

Some bars have removed their happy hours (mainly ones in higher end hotels) whilst others have kept them or are doing some World Cup related drink deals. Ubers are a lot more coming from the airport but standard metered taxis are the same. Uber prices around town looking the same (just looked on the app) To be fair I only checked the airport run, I’m expecting all journeys to follow suit soon to be fair. I see covid restrictions have been dropped, was starting to worry I’d have to isolate a week before I went didn’t want to risk not going.

Sounds like you’ve spent a small fortune on tickets then! Some in my group have spent close to 5k on tickets alone!! Some eye watering prices. Noticed they’ve announced a few concerts/events for club goers if that’s your thing. Think I’m going to give drinking a miss this year as don’t fancy re-mortgaging for a night out Finally managed to bag myself a ticket for the opening game! They were only selling them to Qatari nationals so had to go through a few back doors to get one! There are three separate music festivals with some of the worlds top DJ’s playing. I’ll probably go once or twice. Hopefully some bands or other artists play too. Spent a lot on tickets (at least I’ll get some back when England flop in the second round!) I see it as a once in a lifetime event though and I don’t have to pay for transport and accommodation! Even if one day I’m luckily enough to be living in another country that hosts the WC, it’ll never be this easy again to go to so many games! A lot of England fans I know who are travelling are going to more than 20 games! I was lucky I won a competition for my opening game tickets/ flights & hotel! Part of the opening ceremony too which should be interesting.

Some embarrassing defending from Cheltenham gifted us the win today.
Next few league games won’t be handed to us so easily on a plate!.

Providing he comes in for the right money (wages) then let’s bring him in.
Begs the question why no one else has snapped him up yet?

Managed to bag few extra myself Opening game for Qatar themselves A few Brazil games Brazil vs Switzerland Brazil vs Cameroon Croatia vs Canada Ghana vs Uruguay Desperate to try and grab a Argentina ticket but with messi announcing it will his last tournament it makes it highly unlikely I’ll get one!! Have been desperately trying to get a ticket for the opening game! Annoying that they moved it so late on as I couldn’t go for it before as it was clashing with Englands first game! Anyway, I’m on 16 games minimum now (19 if England go all the way). Had a couple more games which I sold during the first resale. Sounds like you’ve spent a small fortune on tickets then! Some in my group have spent close to 5k on tickets alone!! Some eye watering prices. Noticed they’ve announced a few concerts/events for club goers if that’s your thing. Further escalations today with Russia annoucing 300k reservist being called into action.
Lambs to the slaughter, with the proffessional army struggling against the push back and lacking of basic equipment this really wont end well.
Biggest concern has to be what's Putins next move will be when this fails.

I believe he got fed up being treated badly by so called mates who would goad him into getting himself into trouble/ doing stupid things just for their amusement. Andy? from the clubhouse kitchen regularly took time out, as did members of the SC committee to make sure he was ok and supported. Last I heard he was in a place of residence that could help him with his issues.
It's upsetting when I read things like this, far to often i've seen gasheads around me goading and in some respects bully fellow fans.
No need for it, we're one team and should all be in it together. I'm not usually one to step out and say much but I did have to remind some of our younger fans of this last season.
Good on the SC commitee for the support too, it's easy to look away and not get involved.

Had no intentions to make the trip but my dear old mother wanted to go so I agreed to take her up. As mentioned i'm no royalist but it is a once in a life time event that would be a shame to miss out on.
Saying that though she's not in the best of health lately and the crowds may change her mind.
If you don’t mind me asking, will she be in a wheelchair or anything? I plan on going to see the coffin but seeing where the queue starts depresses me. Also not sure when I’ll have to time to do it as well. Maybe Friday night if trains will be running. For me I just feel like I’ll always regret it if I don’t go
Not in a wheel chair thankfully but she is approaching 60 and suffers from fibromyalgia so being on her feet for a full day isnt something I can see happening. I also have a grade 3 ACL tear so i'm not able to carry around chairs and brollies etc..
My Father and Mrs arnt interested in making the trip either so it just leaves us two to soldier on fighting the elements.
I echo your last sentence it is a once in a life time event and will never be repeated in our life time so im determined to make it work for her.
I found a travellouge hotel fairly close by for £60 a night so i'm thinking I might book that for Sunday night and get up nice and early Monday for the funeral, see if i can been beat the herd for a good view.
