On a side note, is anyone planning to pay their respects/travel to London?
Had no intentions to make the trip but my dear old mother wanted to go so I agreed to take her up. As mentioned i'm no royalist but it is a once in a life time event that would be a shame to miss out on.
Saying that though she's not in the best of health lately and the crowds may change her mind.

If first bus or any other company for that matter struggle to recruit, then perhaps they should sit down and look at what they offer an employee and why it does not encourage the work force to come and work for them. It may not be just a question of salary but the overall package, work life balance, variety of routines, job satisfaction and so on, it is so easy to just say ' not enough drivers, cut services' , good luck with petition. ̶W̶e̶’̶r̶e̶ ̶g̶o̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶p̶a̶y̶ ̶d̶r̶i̶v̶e̶r̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶o̶r̶ ̶r̶e̶d̶u̶c̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶f̶i̶t̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶w̶e̶’̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶l̶r̶e̶a̶d̶y̶ ̶r̶i̶p̶p̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶u̶b̶l̶i̶c̶.̶ ̶ ̶ These are just jobs that British workers don’t want to do. Time to stop the benefits then!
Im sure working on the buses is fairly decent money too.

Meanwhile, why the kill the bill protests were important. "Scotland Yard says people "absolutely have a right to protest" about the monarchy after a man carrying a blank piece of paper was told he might "offend someone". Suppression, in the name of a "Monarchy" And so it came to pass The Metropolitan Police issued a statement after a barrister, Paul Powlesland, filmed an altercation he had with an officer in Parliament Square. The 36-year-old can be heard saying: "Why would you ask for my details?" The officer replies: "So I can check and make sure you can be here. You've already said you've been arrested once." Mr Powlesland responds: "No, I said other people had been arrested. I was holding up a blank sign. Why are you asking for me details?" The officer says: "Because you said you were going to write stuff on it that may offend people." Mr Powlesland says: "I said I was going to write 'not my king' on a sign." The officer replies: "You may offend someone." Mr Powlesland said the officer told him he risked being arrested if he had gone ahead and written "not my king" on the paper."
Do these people have nothing better to do other than stand outside for hours on end just to hold a sign up that the majority of people wont take a second look at.

Why has my post been removed?
Whilst like many i'm no royalist but I dont see the need for constant p**s taking for someone who's dedicated her whole life for our country.
I've not been reading much on here lately but on the breif bits i have seen I have clocked two of your comments on this section and general chat and your just coming accross as a prat to be honest.
It's a case of if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it at all.
RIP Ma'am

Linked topic, with the price increases in fuel, winter approaching and the likelyhood of significant maneuvers in Ukraine not happening until the spring, will the international community, especially the EU, put pressure on Ukraine to sue for peace early? Hungary, France and Germany have been fairly lukewarm in their support anyway and Italy could well be with them, if not already, with Salvini (should he be elected). Could they cost of fuel actually hurt Europe to such a degree they dangle the carrot of EU membership as a bribe to Ukraine losing certain chunks of territory? I can't imagine they would, but if the EU does offer Ukraine some kind of fast-track or easier route to membership then I suspect Ukraine would reject as that would be the next step to the EU becoming irrelevant... ...NATO is a much more important alliance when (as you point out) politically many EU member states are quite happy for Russia to invade other countries and kill people... I genuinely worry that the 'cost of living/cost of fuel' "crisis" is actually designed to mask the start of the third world war... Your last sentence is harrowing yet I find myself agreeing with it. Dark times ahead!

Not an option we can risk IMO Stu
If we allow Putin to come this far and settle for a peace deal then theres no telling how far he will go next time.

Agreed the youth level at Manchester city is extremely good, if you know parents with kids at youth level football they'll all tell you Man City are one of the best teams in the country who recruit and produce some of the best.
The next Phil Phoden has to be amongst the ranks worth loaning out.

£20 + for league 2/1 football IMO has always been over priced and maybe one good thing to come out of this is we see a reduction in ticket cost.
The German league have the right idea, dirt cheap tickets.

I think tongight will highlight if we're serious contenders this season, as chuffed as i was with the Oxford result we have always been a bit of a bogey team for them so tonights the real acid test.

That's what Labour will want from this, as long as it's vaguely plausible to the public. Stuart….Probably so…..but that then points to the fact that neither party has the idea or ability to have any plausible realistic answer to the problem. (If indeed there is one) Nothing new there then……😥
Poor form by labour if there plan cant be carried out and it is as said a very vague plan to grab headlines/votes with out much weight to back it up.
Alot of people across the UK right now are clinging onto false hope that the government have a magic wand that can solve all of our problems when the stark reality is we havent (neither party)
This winter has potential to be on the same sized scale as the covid pandemic in terms of misery and hardship so I would hope that like the pandemic that both parties can stop petty point scoring and cheap headline grabbers in the press and agree on a sensible plan to nagivate us through this.
But that would be far to sensible!...ah well now for lizzes lala land plan to save the country
Not a fan of dishy rishi but atleast he's honest about the situation we find ourselves in!.

JB's revealed we missed out on Kyle Joseph on loan for the season.....
No loss, didnt see much from him on Saturday for Oxfam to get upset about losing out on him.
Mind you it was only a sub appearance so i guess we'll only know if its a miss as the season progresses.

What safety incidents or risks were there before? Genuinely curious as I can’t recall anything occurring that would require swiping a hefty 2k off the gate. Standard of stewarding for a start that done NOTHING to help, that was grossly under verified, outsourced, using what appeared to be children; some of whom non responsive to English language. These were highlighted on forums last season. It didn't help in pitch invasions not just last game, but v Oxford in the cup. I get over exuberance, but it falls in line with refs and authorities asking the club to explain itself, and I wonder what staff allowed this to fall below due diligence standards? Maybe it hasn't happened before because previous staff have been bombed out for nepotism of new CEO? I don't know, I'm not itk.....but something has happened for SAG to react in such a way.
I've often wondered if some of the can speak english, had a few occasions where i've been pushed out into the yellow walk ways just be greeted by one them poking me in the back and pointing to say get back into the crowd.
Tried explaining many times I cant stop 100's of fans pushing in my direction forcing me ontop the walk way but its like talking to a brick wall.
