Just checked you’re right! Sorry Dickie 89 not out 👍. Perhaps he will be there today then? 😁. Isn’t Parky a Barnsley fan as well? Maybe they’ll both be there.

Good work Dude. Keep the run going. Tough game today but I think we could get something. We often play better against better teams so I’ll take a scrappy 1-0 with a mix of great and lucky defending and Collins to score.

I also think this hinders some of our loan options. Many players like to be loaned without having to relocate for a relatively short period of time. If you live around Manchester/Liverpool or Birmingham or London there are so many options without having to move home. I realise this doesn’t stop loans happening but I believe it has an impact.

Beadle’s not getting a lot of love. I think he was an incredible player, some of the goals he scored were breathtaking. Perhaps his going to the shyt sours it. I think he was every bit as god as cureton and only marginally behind Hayles and Stewart Same with John Taylor. For a while he was great for us.

Not a chance I’ll be backing Newcastle. Another bunch of entitled fans who think they deserve success. Before Keegan took over they had mediocre numbers at games for years and yet have fallen for their own propaganda about being a big club.

Embarrassing, probably. Correct, probably. Think JB created a problem that didn't exist. Nevertheless, today shows that having Belshaw in goal gives the players confidence, and no doubt boosts team spirit. First clean sheet for a while, and yes maybe we would have kept one even if he wasn't in goal, but I don't think it's a coincidence. Next week v Barnsley will give a bigger test and measure for all of the players. The defence was changed. Connolly dropped after being in woeful form. 3 out of 4 defenders and 2 out of 3 midfielders were changed. Added to this Oxford were abysmal. Changing the keeper didn’t make us any better or worse today, and again is the answer to a question that didn’t need answering. Barton’s decisions today were the outfield players who were changed. It could be the midfield and back 4 gave the keeper confidence rather than the other way round.

Belshaw. Chance to be a hero or villain? Feels like there’s no in between in this debate any more. If we win it’ll be because of something he did and if we lose it’ll be his fault for one reason or another.

Typically in this forum people have to take polarised views. Pro-Barton or anti-Barton; pro- Belshaw or anti-Belshaw. For the record, I do like Belshaw and would support him 100% when he is playing for us, as I would with any player. What I genuinely don't get is why people think his performances this season mean he should automatically remain as our number 1; and why Balcombe should be blamed for the last few defeats. We all know that even top keepers make mistakes (eg 2 howlers in Liverpool vs RM last night) so one or two from either Belshaw or Balcombe I can live with. But the love-in for Belshaw seems to be based on last seasons 'player of the year award' which has made him untouchable in the eyes of many. From what I have seen Balcombe is a better all round keeper- deals with crosses better; better shot stopper; better distribution. For those reasons I hope he continues to be selected, and I hope our wonderful fans get behind him on the pitch, whatever they think privately. Belshaws performances this season saw us 4 points off playoffs, Balcombes performances has seen us lose 4 out of the last 5 games. That's it. But that’s not it. You can’t blame Balcombe for all the points dropped in the same way that Belshaw can’t be credited for all the points gained. Since Christmas we’ve been poor in most areas for most games and it’s costing us. Also teams are playing their games in hand which is revealing our true position. Belshaw cost us points on a number of occasions. If he hadn’t then Barton wouldn’t have been looking to strengthen the position. I’m not sure Belshaw would have made things better, or worse in terms of results. Balcombe may not be the answer, but for me the question isn’t about goalkeepers, but about the majority of the rest of the team - especially the defence and midfield who have essentially gone missing.

Surprised at Anderson being on the bench. Thought he was excellent on Tuesday with his hard work. Unless he’s not fully fit of course.

Think i would prefer starting solid like on Tuesday. Opening up a bit later in the game if we need to. In a way we might be better allowing Burton to take the front foot first then counter attack them. Agree with this. A solid, no sloppy errors start which allows us to settle and then second half up the tempo and get a win. 1-0 incoming. Scott Sinclair to score.

Belly back between the sticks on Tuesday? Not sure GK is the issue here - Not sure any keeper could manage behind our defence at the moment. Belshaw had some brilliant and some dreadful moments, Balcombe has done much the same. Until the defence and midfield tighten up and we get back to scoring changing the keeper feels like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic to me.

Glad someone’s taken this one on. I started the home game and that went downhill rapidly. I’m going for a draw. Which would be a good result given the manner of our last 3 defeats. It will be a tough one will all the players missing who could be.

It has to be observed that a change of party probably won’t make any difference. We’ve been back in Bristol for nearly 30 years and haven’t made any genuine progress regardless of which party is in power. Which party in the last 30 years has actually refused us permission? They’ve not exactly fallen over themselves to help us though? I’m not aiming it any party at all. Unless I’m mistaken the council didn’t exactly fall over themselves to help us get back to Bristol either. I’m not saying they actively block us but the level of help appears to be very limited.

Good win for the gas coming up. I can guarantee it. This is because I only have about 2% chance of making the game so a win is nailed on.
