If I were a betting man I'd have bet on Lee to lose tonight. His preparation was awful. The Sanigars had him spar with Ash Lane and his own son ffs, instead of bringing in top class sparring partners. His interviews on last weeks TV showed a man who had seemingly wanted to quit and train his boy. I don't think I've ever seen Lee so not up to the task BUT Burnett was trained to perfection, by Adam Boothe. He has every angle covered and rough housed Lee from minute one. Using his head and tying Lee up. He basically did what Lee does to others. It was a well deserved victory for Burnett. Whoever the judge was that made it 109-117 in Haskins favour, an American, should be banned from judging. IMO Lee didn't take one round and was on his ar5e twice too. I don't see a rematch and Lee won't now get the big fight against McDonnell. It's a shame as he's a lovely bloke but his management team really are at fault for this. They failed to prepare and Lee says he never watches videos of his opponents. Burnett is a tough fighter and I see him doing very well. Good luck Lee. Hopefully would have saved a few quid and can retire from the game now. I felt sad but kind of relieved for him. I think it was fairly obvious he was not up for this fight.

The judge clearly made a mistake. The match was set to give the boy a belt as he is the next thing in that weight. Haskins is done and done well to retain last time which I thought he'd lost. Top guy though and great to hear Bristol on Sky. He's been great for years.

Hello KP Sorry mate but I can't agree with this. Lee's training was the same as other camps, they also brought in some Welsh sparring partners as well and he looked very good. Some of the greats box amateurs etc for their title fights. His son was as much for TV as serious prep. Videos of Burnett wouldn't have necessarily revealed much as previous performances haven't been great and last time he was awful and looked a hype job. It it was a calculated gamble for purse plus a kid who hadn't been above British level so seemed reasonable. sometimes fighters age, get beat, lose the hunger or just meet someone better than them. lee has overachieved in reality, is likely to retire now and should be proud of everything he has done. English, Commonwealth, British, European and World champion. That is some record and I am extraordinarily proud of him Finally Sanigars produce champion after champion, that isn't luck and no-one else down here can do it.

Top guy though and great to hear Bristol on Sky. He's been great for years. I like Lee a great deal and we have a good friendship. I think maybe some may think I wanted him to lose when nothing could be further from the truth. Fact is Lee did exceedingly well to get the IBF belt and defend it 3 times with 2 wins. If you saw his interviews last week, he looked beaten before the fight and I was very tempted to break my betting ban. Luckily I never and won't get into that hell. Burnett had his number and did a Lee on Lee. Lee had now tweeted his is done and fair play to him. . Luckily the selby's are under Al Haymons guidance and are heavily tipped to go onto great things. Personally I think it's the best decision for Lee. He did himself and Bristol proud

I don't know why the Japanese don't get the coverage but if you go to YouTube and watch his fights then you'll see what I mean. My only regret for Lee is that he didn't get to have one of those super fights and that his dream of fighting in Vegas was scuppered. I would imagine it would be any boxers dream to fight in Vegas and I was gutted for him. I hope he was at least reimbursed expenses and a cherry on the top

It's been waiting to happen for a while, although he is bristolian I just couldn't get into watching him, lacks a good punch and fight it boring and been very lucky a a few occasions Surely that's the paradox of luck. Luck is once or twice but not a few times. If you're "lucky" a few times then I'd suggest it's not luck. Lee, on his best form, is a slippery fighter and can make other fighters look very bad indeed. He just didn't fight that way this time. I don't know why, maybe Burnett sticking his nut in regularly put him off of his game but he didn't look anything like he did when he won the interim title at Whitchurch. That was Lee at his best and with a partisan Bristolian crowd roaring him on. It was a great night

This thread was shown to the Sanigars and Jamie sent me a message, threatening court for defamation lmfao. Bring it on, you can't get blood out of a stone and they should be careful starting on someone who has NOTHING to lose. I will say no more on that other than be careful what you wish for Jamie. It could make the nationals cause you said what? Maybe they're a bit raw at the moment after what happened

It could make the nationals cause you said what? Maybe they're a bit raw at the moment after what happened Because my opinion was that Lee was not prepared well and mismanaged & that he wasn't the 1st. I've grown to hate pro boxing due to the promoters, managers and the dirty deals done. I will only do local white collar and MMA now and any big fights that interest me. Just talking with Glenn Catley is an eye opener. A true gentleman and someone I respect greatly. Basically want to threaten me with court because i have an opinion and one based in seeing and hearing how it all works. I'll not miss the Bristol boxing at all. It's held at Grashton hate anyway. Not paying to watch it there I will be watching Andy O'Kane's promotions though. Danny Butler fighting next month at UWE. Andy is the only prompter/manager I know who really cares about his boxers. The rest can swivel
