Sheffield United release Paul Coutts, Conor Washington, Daniel Lafferty, Caolan Lavery and Martin Cranie. Contracted players Leon Clarke, Jake Wright, Ched Evans, Samir Carruthers, Nathan Thomas, Ben Heneghan and Ricky Holmes have been placed on the transfer list. Coutts is a player I've always liked, but suffered a leg break a little while back. If fully recovered from that he would be class for this level. 6ft 4in centre back Ben Heneghan is a player I rate and he was recognised at Blackpool's end-of-season awards being voted the club's Player of the Year by both Radio Wave and Blackpool Supporters' Association. On his day Carruthers is decent, Clarke and Washington could score goals at this level and if Holmes could get to the form of recent seasons could be worth a deal. Big fan of Carruthers. Think Washington might be too far out of our league, should tear up this division. Should have signed Washington when he was taking the water in the United Counties League.

I expect there would be a bit of interest for him but would be worth making an offer.

What a superb signing he would be. Just seen that he’s linked with Stoke. So that probably puts us out of the running!

He was voted Millwall’s Player of the Year at their awards night and will most likely join Stoke. Edit: Your stoke post above beat me to it!

Pirate would you take any of the Coventry players released as it’s quite likely one could end up here through Tommy Widrington. Coventry City have released the following players; Lee Burge, Jack Grimmer, Tom Davies, Liam O’Brien, Tony Andreu, Chris Camwell, Reece Ford, Billy Stedman & Stuart Beavon

As for the rest, none really stand out.

A player that has caught my eye this season is the 21-year-old former Watford centre back Connor Stevens at Wealdstone. I saw him put in a typically assured display on Tuesday night and also added his 5th goal of the season. Managers comments earlier this season Called up to the England C squad for the first time today.

Lee Gregory would be a fantastic signing, but in reality probably a bit unrealistic. I wonder why he's leaving, named Millwall POTY. I recall him celebrating in front of our fans a couple seasons ago so him signing would of course be interesting.
In terms of lower league players I don't have the best knowledge unfortunately, so Pirate, do you like either of Kyle Taylor or Plymouth's Ryan Edwards?
Looks like Coughlan wants Jakubiak back, me personally I'd want to pass. Coughlan confirms negotiations with Bonham.
Coughlan seemed to contradict himself a bit though. Said he wanted full-backs, a centre-back, two goalkeepers, a winger or two, Jakubiak but then said he only wanted 4/5 players.
Also think we should be looking at Matt Sadler, Tom James, Danny Rowe, Paul McCallum, Ricky Modeste, Sammie Szmodics, Callum Lang, Leo Da Silva Lopes, Ricky Holmes, Kory Roberts, Jack Payne, Jamie Shackleton, Mark O’Hara, Pierce Sweeney, Robbie Willmott, Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Joining Stoke it seems, so step up in club size and presumably his pay packet.

Haven't seen much of Taylor and Edwards is decent enough on his day, but he probably wouldn't be one I'd go for.

Weird if Nelson let his contract expire and then chose to re-sign. We should get in quick with a really good salary package.

I don't think GC will be taking a punt on any non-league players. ISTM he's looking to bring in 4/5 experienced players of at least EFL level 1 that he expects to go straight into the first team - no bench warmers for him. Can't see Partington, Payne, Bennett or Mensah being here next season - or Tom Nichols come to that.

Most of the non-league players I've mentioned would be great for the development squad and looking to push for a place in the first team squad - the likes of Connor Stevens (Wealdstone), Brad Lynch (Colne), Zak Goodson (Basford United), Owen Windsor (Cirencester Town), Luke Trotman (Darlington) and Matty Bowman (Scarborough Athletic) etc

Yes, if they are desperate for a chance at a professional football club and realise there is a pathway to the first team and be rewarded with a good/better wage further down the line. I know I would!
