I'd be trying to get Callum Roberts in the building asap. Roberts scored an impressive 34 goals and also provided 24 assists from 87 appearances in a wide or attacking midfield role for the Newcastle U23s and has 14 goals from 20 appearances this season at National League North side Blyth Spartans. Only 22-years-old and will get even better. Another impressive goal in the playoffs to add to his collection this season. 21 goals in total now I think for a combination of Byth and Notts County.

Been watching the play off game on BT sport, thought it was a Billy Bob vs Dagenham moment at the time, dribbling until enough defenders were sat on their arses!

He didn’t have genuine control of the ball for the first two, it falls for him lush off the defenders but credit where it’s due he still had to finish em.

Just seen Jordon Obita (Reading left back) has been released. Played 26 times for reading last season and would be a massive improvement on Leahy and Kelly.

I'm sure defenders often think he doesn't have genuine control of the ball. Sometimes It's the way he dribbles. Two seconds later the ball is usually in the back of the net.

Kyle Dempsey and Conor McAleny released from Fleetwood, among others. I'd happily take both.

This lad would be one of my top targets. Re-signed for Swindon on a permanent deal following his release from Norwich. Good signing for them.

Wouldn't shock me if they're favoured by clubs in the Championship though due to the massive difference in wages between the Championship and League One. If you're unable to shift those players due to whatever reason then your budget can be handcuffed by players who haven't pulled their weight the year before, not saying that's the case with Locks.

The benefit for the club is takes high wage off after relegation or benefits the player to not drop down a league, but obviously you got to hope someone in that league wants you.

Another couple of Worthing youngsters worth keeping an eye on are: Fin Stevens, a versatile full back (right or left) and midfielder. Only 16-years-old and a first team regular. Was on the books at Arsenal up to U16 level. m.facebook.com/WorthingFC/videos/812167755932981/Tom Chalaye - 17-year-old Sussex County FA U18 striker who helped them reach a cup final. Broke goalscoring records for his College side. Made his first team debut for Worthing during season and scored three goals. Promising player. Scores 3rd goal here with good finish: Another good finish here for their goal: Fin Stevens signs for Brentford B. www.brentfordfc.com/news/2020/july/fin-stevens-signs-for-brentford-b/

Yeah although sensible from a business head, it doesnt sit well with me when a player joins a club and has a relegation get-out clause written into the contract before he has even kicked a ball. As far as I can tell it only benefits the player who can walk away for free , or stay. If a player requested that in the contract then they wouldnt stick around anyway after relegation, even if they hadnt.

Good to see you posting on this thread again pirate. Anyone caught your eye from those that have been released so far? Jordon Rossiter from Rangers and Danny Rowe from Ipswich are two interesting ones for me. Rossiter is an outstanding player, but he just can't stay fit for any length of time. If he did manage to stay fit then he would possibly be playing at the top level. Rossiter set to re-join Fleetwood on a permanent deal. the72.co.uk/?p=182782

Interested to see what ball-playing central-midfielders we are looking at. One I'd love is Callum Camps (24), let go by Rochdale due to their financial situation. Been crying out for someone who can pick a pass and transition the ball effectively from defence to attacking areas. Would be an upgrade on OC, and four years younger. Another midfielder reportedly joining Fleetwood is Callum Camps. They look to be building an impressive squad. www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-fleetwood-agree-deal-to-sign-13-goal-assist-midfielder-on-free-transfer/

Pirate - Alex Babos released by Derby County. Young midfielder and can also play wide - do you know anything about him.? Decent player. Welsh U21 international. Spent a spell on loan at FC United this season where he seemed to impress. 16 assists for the Derby U23s this season.
