Offer Jay Spearing a deal - defensive minded CM and a leader. His wage demands were supposedly quite high, but I'm sure something could be creatively arranged. Let's get left sided player Reise Allassani in for a trial/closer look. He's versatile enough to play in our current system and various formations. Once very highly rated and eager for a chance. Wesley Jobello, Carlos De Pena, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Leroy George, Chris Malonga and Maximilian Beister are all free agent players who can play on the left and would surely offer more of a threat than Moore. Daniel Adlung is experienced at a good level, can play anywhere in midfield and available on a free. Lewis McGugan on a free. Plenty of players out there available that would surely strengthen our team... Spearing is a quality footballer, and would like to see him in the quarters but sadly probably out of our reach with wage demand. There is no transfer fee so offer him a decent deal until the end of the season. We get a qualty player and a leader on the pitch, he earns a fair wage, he's putting himself in the shop window and not tied down long term. Edit: even a deal until January would be better than nothing. We can then reassess the situation and sign someone else if needs be. As DC himself admits: "As always in recruiting players - money talks. If you want the best players to play you've got to pay."

You can't offer one player a lot more then everyone else, unless it's on a computer game. Everyone else would be wanting more money straight away and if they didn't get it, they would be watered off. Not to mention that's not DC'S style. He will know that's not fair and if the player is not willing to play for a similar wage as the rest of the squad, he's not worth having. If he was that keen to play and get fit he would have signed for someone already, same as Lambert.

I understand where you are coming from, but if it was me, I'd be wanting to play with the best players possible, regardless of what they earn. But maybe that is just me. You could structure the deal in a way that he earns a similar amount to the others, possibly offer a decent signing on fee or something. Anyway, I've just read that Bolton are still looking to re-sign him if they can negotiate with the league for extra space and wage budget due to the transfer embargo they are under, so it's probably a no go anyway. Plenty of other realistic free transfers that would strengthen us though.

20-year-old left winger Connor Hunte will be worth monitoring this season. He made 4 starts (2 sub apps) scoring 1 goal in a loan spell at Stevenage during 16/17. The former Chelsea and England U16/U17 player left Wolves in January and this summer signed for Isthmian League South side Greenwich Borough. So far during the 17/18 season he has scored 2 goals from 3 starts (1 sub app) and has impressed. Stevenage goal His team mate Travis Gregory would be worth scouting too. The former Chelsea and Rangers youngster has scored 5 goals from 7 appearances from the wing so far this season and has 9 goals in 15 appearances in total since joining them last season.

If this 23-year-old former France U18 left winger could be persuaded to move to England/League One and was affordable, he could be a decent option. Available on a free. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_JobelloI thought this lad could've proven to be a decent option for us on the left wing, but he's now signed for second tier French side GFC Ajaccio, average attendance 2,919.

The 24-year-old former Germany U16 international (2 goals in 7 apps) Nick Brisevac is well worth a closer look. He can play as a defensive or attacking midfielder and has scored 49 goals and created 31 assists from 86 appearances for his current club Altona 93, who he also captains. So far during 17/18 he has scored 3 goals and created 1 assist from 4 appearances for the 4th tier side. Nice freekick against West Ham in a friendly this summer Goal this season I've watched virtually all of Brisevac's highlights over the past couple of seasons and a few full 90 minutes and this lad looks a real player. Great vision, good with both feet, creative, can pick a pass, not afraid of a tackle, good technique, set piece specialist, a leader and possesses a rocket shot. Didn't look out of place against West Ham and looks like he would suit the English game. If he was interested in a move he could be a quality addition and would probably end up making us money in the long term from a sell-on. Including cup games he has actually scored at least 8 goals from 8 games this season, possibly more as I can't find details for one of those matches. Watching Brisevac live now on a stream against Huddersfield in a friendly. Playing in an attacking midfield role, this versatile lad would undoubtedly strengthen our midfield in January. Quality player. Edit: Just hit the post with a left foot shot. 2nd Edit: Denied just before half time inside the box with a right foot shot by a good saved from the keeper. Subbed at half time. Looked one of the better players on the pitch in the 1st half, no mean feat considering Huddersfield had a strong side out, including £3.5m Depoitre.

Another two goals here from yesterday, this time in Saarbrücken's first league game of the season. The second (3.15mins) in particular is a good finish. Looks a good player to me, one who's value in this country will only increase. 6ft 1in, strong, good pace, can score off both feet, decent in the air, good finisher. Another decent finish yesterday to make it 3 goals in 3 games this season. I hope he's one on Brian Dutton's scouting list of "players abroad who could fit into Rovers' side" ©Bristol Post. Maybe Will Dubey could do some analysis? Having watched all his goals/assists for Homburg and Saarbrücken I think he is definitely worth a closer look. Harry Forrester has been told he can leave Rangers again. I reckon he would be ideal for that winger signing we are looking for. As DC said: "There comes a time doesn't there?" about the clubs need to invest on the pitch."That time is now," he added. "You can't stand still when it comes to recruitment and as always in recruiting players - money talks. If you want the best players to play you've got to pay, the budgets now are big." Another player I'd be targeting for January or in the summer. Would suit the English game and be an upgrade on what we have IMHO. He scored another yesterday, 5 goals and 1 assist from 7 league games so far during 17/18.

James Hardy could be worth a look at. Watching AFC Fylde vs Barrow tonight and he looks more than impressive, left footed winger too. Hardy isn't the only player impressing at Fylde, 23-year-old former Wales U21 captain Henry Jones has 3 goals and 1 assist from 7 appearances so far this season from a central midfield role. The former Swansea City youth was named Young Player of the Year in the Welsh Premier League last season after netting 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 32 appearances for Bangor City and was named in the Welsh League’s Team of the Year.

Israel Puerto is a good centre back currently playing in the 3rd tier in Spain for CD Mirandés. A product of the Sevilla academy, he's a 24-year-old 6ft 2in former Spain U17/U18/U19/U20/U21 player. Hopefully one on Brian Dutton's radar of players abroad who could fit into Rovers. Watched Puerto in a couple of full 90mins on youtube over the weekend and he did well. Good in the air, decent pace, good positioning, makes blocks, tackles. One of the games was against Santander and he kept the excellent Dani Aquino fairly quiet. His side have kept 3 clean sheets and only conceded 2 goals from 5 games with him in the side. Would be an excellent signing for January or the summer when his contract runs out IMHO.

This lad looks a good player. Another one in the German 4th tier. Maximilian Zimmer, 25-year-old, 5ft 9in, RM/LM/CM, Energie Cottbus. A former Germany U16/U17/U18 international. A right footed versatile midfielder who can play on the right, left or in the centre. Good technique, pacey, good passing range, a set piece specialist and an eye for goal. He scored 12 goals and created 11 assists from 51 appearances for his previous club Berliner AK 07. So far during the 17/18 season he has scored 4 goals and created 5 assists from 8 appearances in all competitions for 4th tier side Energie Cottbus. Contract ends on 30.06.18. Quality assist

Would take the water at this level. A former Charlton loanee. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/frederic-bulot/profil/spieler/111005

I'm sure most have kept themselves in decent shape in order to find a club. Oldham have just signed 4 free agents, one has slotted in straight away and played at the weekend and tonight.

The first goal last night was crying out for a DM to close down their guy. He had acres of space to set himself up for his wind-assisted shot. Criminal !

Decent finish for his 2nd goal. Hat-trick so far for the youngster Josh March today. 8 goals in 6 games. I'd try and get him into the development squad asap. Scores all sorts of goals does this attacking midfielder. Leapt like a salmon on Saturday.
