The first goal last night was crying out for a DM to close down their guy. He had acres of space to set himself up for his wind-assisted shot. Criminal ! Definitely need to add one soon, if the right man isn't available on a free now, then we have to get one in January. And someone to challenge Moore!

Israel Puerto is a good centre back currently playing in the 3rd tier in Spain for CD Mirandés. A product of the Sevilla academy, he's a 24-year-old 6ft 2in former Spain U17/U18/U19/U20/U21 player. Hopefully one on Brian Dutton's radar of players abroad who could fit into Rovers. Watched Puerto in a couple of full 90mins on youtube over the weekend and he did well. Good in the air, decent pace, good positioning, makes blocks, tackles. One of the games was against Santander and he kept the excellent Dani Aquino fairly quiet. His side have kept 3 clean sheets and only conceded 2 goals from 5 games with him in the side. Would be an excellent signing for January or the summer when his contract runs out IMHO.

Your posts and player knowledge is outstanding ... absolutely a credit to you.
It makes it though even more criminal and depressing that our club do absolutely sod all with any of them ... Not sure if its an arrogance or ignorance from the Manager and his now huge back room team, then again we are not allowed to criticise so they must be really busy on the training ground.

That's their prerogative, perhaps they just don't rate any of the tip offs. With all these backroom appointments I'm surprised we haven't brought in an experienced scout though, surely one of the most crucial roles in any football club.

Luke Hall anyone??? Looked useful in pre season Lewis Hall, the Aussie defensive midfielder? I only saw him once and he didn't particularly stand out, so hard to say if he would improve us in all honesty. I'm now hoping we are holding back some money for January and strengthen then, if we can't find any adequate frees in the meantime. Surely there will be plenty of money left in the kitty???

He knew the position and was more defensively minded than anyone we had? We have no other option who can play as defensive midfield in front of the back four. Lines is better further on up the field IMO

Lines is better further on up the field IMO I'd rather have Toumani Diagouraga, currently training with Scunthorpe. Youssouf Mulumbu is available on a free following his release by Norwich. If he was affordable and willing to join, he would be ideal. Highly unlikely, but you never know.

This is a lad I'll be keeping an eye on this season. 20-year-old, two footed, 6ft, versatile forward Marc Brasnic recently moved to 4th tier German side Viktoria Köln from Bayer Leverkusen. He can play a wide role or through the centre. During his time at Leverkusen he created 10 assists and scored 42 goals from 53 appearances for their U19 side, but also scoring a further 8 goals in 10 appearances in the UEFA Youth League, scoring goals against the likes of Manchester United, Benfica and Monaco. At this time he was linked in the press with a move to Arsenal and Manchester City. He also created 5 assists and scored 8 goals from 13 appearances on loan in the 5th tier as an 18-year-old. He has represented Germany at U15 level (1 goal in 2 apps) and Croatia at U19 level (1 cap). On contract until 30.06.2018.

Hat-trick so far for the youngster Josh March today. 8 goals in 6 games. I'd try and get him into the development squad asap. Scores all sorts of goals does this attacking midfielder. Leapt like a salmon on Saturday. Another 2 goals today against higher league Grantham. 10 goals in 8 games. Corey Whitely also scored another. 8 goals in 10 games.

If this lad was interested in a move to League One he could be worth considering with a view to a move in January or the summer.
Sigurdur Egill Lárusson, 25-year-old, 5ft 11in, left/right midfield, Valur. He scored 14 goals in 29 appearances last season (2017) for Valur in the Icelandic top flight and currently has 2 goals in 4 appearances this season, all in the Europa League qualifiers. His total career record in all competitions in Icelandic football is 54 goals in 211 appearances. He has represented Iceland at U17 level (6 caps), U19 level (11 caps), U21 level (1 cap) and recently made his full international debut on Jan 15th 2017 and has a total of 2 caps. He can play on the right or left side of midfield and could even do a job in the centre or at fullback if needed.

I haven't, but I have seen the majority of his goals and assists and seen enough of his general play to say he is worth considering and worth scouting further with a view to a move in January or the summer.

Wow, so without ever seeing a player live, you want us to go and sign him. Of all of the countless players you have 'scouted' how many of them have you actually seen live?

Read what I wrote again, "worth scouting further with a view to a move", a bit different to "go and sign him." I don't know why that is so difficult to understand. For your info i've seen the majority of players in this thread live or in full 90 minute games. You don't need to have seen a player "live" to know they are worth a closer look. I can remember back in the day Eddie Howe getting Charlie Austin in to Bournemouth for a trial having only read about him in his local paper!

I'm not on about watching a player on YouTube, where you only see him every now and then. How many times have you seen the players live in the stadium, so you can get a full 90 mins view on him.
