westfieldgas Tyrese Campbell, Jamie Vardy And Divin Mubama certainly won't be joining us and the other striker options mentioned aren't any better than what we have. I've been looking at the summer out-of-contract CF options in this country and slightly concerning is the options of the required quality appear to be very limited indeed! From the list from Westfield, I like: Christian Walton - very good GK. Prefer us to sign an experienced backup to nurture and mentor Jed. Connor Ogilvie - solid L1 defender. Maybe Pompey don't keep him if they go up? Sam Field - solid CH mid. Marcus McGuane - solid L1 mid. Alex Mowatt - solid CH mid. Louie Sibley - creative attacking mid. Joe Powell - my first choice midfield target this summer. Keshi Anderson - good winger. Micah Hamilton - lively Man City attacker, they'll keep him but maybe a loan target? Kayden Jackson - would be a good striker to target IMO. Separately: Herbie Kane - I'd love him but he's a proper Ted so no chance haha.

Lovely list but realistically (and yes, before you say it, I agree that if we had a proper recruitment structure in place then we could and should be) I can't see us scouring the rest of the continent to find gems from Italy etc. I would like us to be more alert and aware with what's available within our shores and close-by - i.e. the Irish league in particular. Preston have a wonderful model of signing from ROI and we were close to getting Liam Scales, who has played CL football for Celtic (boo, up the Gers) this season, way back when. Similarly, we smartly acquired Michael Smith from the Northern Irish league and Will Evans, Newport's man of the hour, was plucked from the Welsh PL. And ofc, the talents available in Scotland are much more obvious - if we can avoid the Garry Kenneth's and Derek Riordan's of the world... All about contacts at the end of the day I suppose.

David Oduro, 17-year-old, Left Back/Wing Back, Accra Lions. Highly-rated player who has represented Ghana at U17 and U20 level and impressed at club level playing in his homeland.

The young Keynsham Town winger Theo Jeremy is raw, but with potential and worth keeping an eye on.

I thought 6'3" GK Zach Jeacock showed a bit of potential at Gloucester City and worth inviting into training for a closer evaluation if he hasn't already got something lined up after being released by Birmingham City. Attachment Deleted

It would be worth keeping an eye on the 19-year-old LB/LWB Max Hudson at Concord Rangers. Previously been on the books of Tottenham and Ipswich, he has a lovely left foot and shown potential worth monitoring.

6 years on... 1000s of suggestions. Sure there are some names that faded into obscurity but...
It would be intriguing to me if anyone wanted to make a "wishlist all-star XI"
Please include: player, position, year of submission.
I remember Pirate being keen on Shankland- that's gotta be near the best suggestion. That most have been feasible at the time and i suggest would've been great.

Few options that will be available in the summer on frees : GKs: Christian Walton Joe Lumley Joe Wildsmith Cameron Dawson Alex McCarthy Jed Steer Ryan Schofield John Ruddy Callum Burton RB/RWB's: Jamie Shackleton Jordan Williams Fankaty Dabo Connor Randall Liam Bennett Brad Halliday Marcel Oakley James Bolton Josh Emmanuel Callum Johnson Robbie McKenzie CB's: Nathan Wood Axel Tuanzebe Matty Pearson Ben Gibson Josh Knight Dynel Simeu Sean Morrison Dominic Irofa Sam Sherring LB/LWB's: Harrison Burrows Tyler Blackettt Scott Tanser James Husband Ben Jackson George Harmon Connor Ogilvie Jack Currie Clinton Mola Rio Adebisi Tom Pearce DM's: Sam Field Callum Connolly George Dobson Dominic Ball Marcus McGuane Jordan Tilson Jake Livermore Calum Butcher Shaun McWilliams Ben Fox CM's: Alex Mowatt Louie Sibley Dru Yearwood Joe Ralls Oliver Rathbone Herbie Kane Sonny Carey Lewis Warrington Marlon Pack Luke Berry Harry Kite Tom Bayliss Wide Midfielders: Jordan Gibson James Henry Adam Reach Demetri Mitchell AM's: Joe Powell Josh Windass Noah Chilvers Jamie Paterson Keshi Anderson Luke Molyneux Wingers: Micah Hamilton Chris Willock Josh Murphy Josh Martin Mickel Miller Femi Azeez Josh Sims Elliot List CF's: Tyrese Campbell Jamie Vardy Divin Mubama Joel Nouble Omar Bogle Kayden Jackson Chris Long Billy Sharp Some cracking names on this list, a fair you think you should be snapping up quickly GK - Cameron Dawson - worked with MT before so that may seem likely. Not on the list but I've always liked Luke Southwood and he is also out of contract in the summer CB - Nathan Wood - Sam Sherring - Sean Morrison all would be good options and can add well to what we have LB - Connor Ogville - always admired him, steady player know what your getting and won't let you down DM - George Dobson - Marcus McGuane - On their day can be rolls royces in that position and have a lot to offer, still think they both have a lot to give. CM/CAM - Bite your hand off for Herbie Kane and can still see that bit of quality from Tom Bayliss that he had when he first broke through with Cov. Also wanted to sign Harry Kite in the january, best football was under Mt at Exeter plus as well a good squad player for legs in midfield. Attackers - Joe Powell another one I would love to see down at the Gas, we were after him a few years back and always impressed when I've watched him. Noah Chilvers I think as well would be worth the punt. If we are going for a striker I would be going out for Will Evans. All pipe dreams I know but what's the point if we can't aye?

Nearly 30 years since we last reached the playoffs at this level and its clear we struggle to attract the required quality to challenge in the 3rd tier. Maybe we could try a different approach and be a bit more creative with our recruitment and look to relatively untapped markets for a bargain or two? I spent the last international window watching games and identifying potential players (about 50 or so) in CAF region that could be realistic, affordable and eligible through the Elite Significant Contribution rule. You don't ask, you don't get. I will highlight just a few in the thread. 20-year-old 6ft 4in Uganda international CB Rogers Torach 🇺🇬 22-year-old 6ft 5in former Gambia youth international CB Edrissa Ceesay 🇬🇲
19-year-old Gambia youth international CDM/CM Muhammed Jobe 🇬🇲
18-year-old Equatorial Guinea international forward José Nabil 🇬🇶
18-year-old Ugandan international midfielder/forward Allan Oyirwoth (now based in UK at Brooke House College) 🇺🇬
23-year-old Angolan forward Gilberto 🇦🇴
