I don't care who a potential signing has played for in the past and I don't think Dc would either. However, he doesn't seem the type of character DC would want in the dressing room. The min barrier would be wages, I'd guess our top earner is on something like £5k per week whereas someone like JET would be on more like £20k per week(?). Seen that he is being linked with Southend so surely he would be in our budget? If D.C. could get him motivated he could be mustard. Not necessarily. Southend signed Kightly don't forget. I think I remember reading somewhere that they are paying him £8k a week.

Another 2 goals for Lee Shaw, 26 goals in 31 games.

Charlton have agreed a loan deal for an attacking player, says Karl Robinson, but played down reports linking them with highly-rated Crystal Palace winger Jason Lokilo.

Another player over there worth a closer look is Crusaders' 21-year-old Northern Ireland U21 international winger Gavin Whyte. He has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances this season. Previously trialled at Everton and Celtic. Perhaps DC could have a word with Mark McChrystal about the lad... 2 goals Quality hat-trick 2 goals Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter has warned any clubs thinking about making a move for his wing wizard Gavin Whyte to put up or shut up. Whyte, whose deflected winner dealt another significant blow to Linfield's title defence at Windsor Park on Saturday, is arguably the best player in the Danske Bank Premiership on current form and if he keeps producing the magic his career could move to a higher level. Cross channel scouts are monitoring the 21-year-old's progress but Baxter isn't interested in speculation or any clubs threatening to waste his time. "Gavin deserves to play at a higher level but I can't as a manager walk into another club, hand pick a player and say I'll have him," said the Crues boss. "We are not having any clubs make derisory offers and unsettling the player, perhaps offering a third of what I'm offering an Irish League player to sign. "If you go to the shops and like the diamond ring you buy it, if you don't, don't buy it. "We are trying to be professional and win things without having unsettled players. "Clubs interested in any of my players should be serious about it and not waste my time." The Crues have nurtured Whyte since he was a raw, fresh-faced teenager and he now has a talent and value that any interested club must respect. Another magnificent performance in the 2-1 win over Linfield underlined his growing confidence and maturity. “We undersell ourselves in this country when we talk about not standing in a player’s way of moving on,” said Baxter. “We have developed Gavin since he was 15 and grown him to the stature he is today. He’s the most wonderful kid, he eats out of your hand and he’s focused on doing well with Crusaders. We will look after him and always will. He won’t be devalued, only helped in his career and if I was the manager of a club a few levels up I’m surprised my phone hasn’t rung 50 times in the last month because that’s how good he has been. “He looks sensational but these things aren’t in my control. Football people can see the talent and they should talk to us without wasting our time. A year ago my time was wasted for six weeks answering questions about Gavin and dealing with idiot scouts on my telephone.” m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/irish-league/crusaders/crues-boss-we-wont-sell-star-whyte-on-the-cheap-36448055.html

Ollie says he wants to get rid of players at QPR - I wonder if he would consider moving David Wheeler on already? He's only started 5 times, came off the bench 4 times and been in the squad 9 times without featuring. Worth enquiring about a loan deal to get him some League One experience and playing time?

Baxter doesn't want derisory offers but hasnt put a value on the lad. So his analogy of the diamond ring is nonsense. 2. If we offer £20,000 in the absence of other offers that's his value. Like the snakes value was £300k because no one offered anything more. 3. He doesn't want the lad unsettled but then described his extensive qualities and he can't believe his phone hasn't been ringing off the hook. 4. Baxter work out what you think he's worth, stick a price tag on him then sit back shut up and see if anyone comes in for him. 5 This us a good example of the amateurs being involved in multi million pound sport.

28-year-old winger Jakob Jantscher is a free agent after leaving Turkish second tier club Çaykur Rizespor in December and his signing would be a coup for our level. Probably unrealistic, but you never know.

Reise Allassani has been the subject of formal bids – and the Dulwich Hamlet attacker has held talks with some of the clubs tracking him. The former Crystal Palace prospect is set to move in the January window but the Bostik League Premier Division leaders will receive compensation after he recently signed a contract until the end of the campaign. Allassani has 11 goals in 12 appearances for the Champion Hill outfit. “There has been a few clubs showing a little bit more interest and they have made offers,” said Dulwich boss Gavin Rose. “The player has had some dialogue with a few interested parties. From what I understand that is still ongoing. If the player is unhappy then he may stay on, if he is happy then he may not. “At the moment what he is doing on the pitch is gaining more admirers. It is hotting up a bit but it has to suit all three parties – the buying club, the selling club and the player.” Rose has not revealed what sort of price is acceptable to Hamlet. If Allassani, 21, had not penned terms then as a free agent he would have been able to move on a free transfer. “We don’t want to stop Reise pushing on. We have got a bottom line price but if he keeps enhancing his reputation since those offers have come in then the natural thing is that the valuation will go higher. “Until the player is happy with a proposal from a prospective club then nothing is really moving. Nothing has been signed off.” www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/football-league-clubs-make-offers-for-reise-allassani-and-ex-crystal-palace-man-holds-talks/Should have had a closer look in the summer when he was without a club and I first mentioned him or when he started banging goals in and impressing at Dulwich on a non-contract basis. He has always been a class act and one of the most highly-rated youngsters during his time at Palace and with the England youth teams. I can remember Jack Wilshere raving about the kid after he ripped a team to pieces playing for the England U17's.

Another player available on a free is left winger Sören Rieks after his contract expired in Sweden on the 1st January. Another player that is probably a bit unrealistic, but like I said with Jantscher, you never know...

Whoever signs Liverpool's released central midfielder Adam Phillips will get a very promising player. The two footed, 19-year-old, former England U16/U17 player, could be worth millions in a couple of years if he manages to stay fit. I wonder if he would drop to League One? Cracking signing for Shaun Derry at Cambridge if he can get him on loan for the rest of the season from Norwich. Phillips has captained their U23's this season, playing 9 times as a defensive midfielder and 4 times as a centre back. Could do a job for us IMHO. www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/norwich-city-transfer-rumours-phillips-to-join-cambridge-on-loan-1-5340437

Free agent former Blackpool, Marseille and France U21 Elliot Grandin worth a trial? Looked decent for Ollie in the Championship and the Prem, still only 30-years-old. Spent part of last season playing in the Cypriot top flight scoring 3 goals and creating 2 assists from 7 starts and 6 sub apps.

A couple of Scottish players I wouldn't mind seeing here are Hamilton's left sided 26-year-old player Ali Crawford and Inverness' 23-year-old CM/RM Liam Polworth.
