Surely with will dubeys contacts in Germany was expecting the next Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller! Probably end up with Mitzi Muller! Some good lower league players in Germany that would improve on what we have. Hopefully Dubey is on the case. Patrick Schmidt (Saarbrücken), Maximilian Zimmer (Energie Cottbus), Fabio Viteritti (Energie Cottbus), Nils Winter (Alemannia Aachen), Nick Brisevac (Altona 93), Marcel Platzek (Rot-Weiss Essen), Dennis Chessa (KFC Uerdingen), Nico Empen (SC Weiche 08), Marc-Philipp Zimmermann (VfB Auerbach), Tobias Steffen (SV Rödinghausen), Jannik Löhden (Oberhausen), Marc Brasnic (Viktoria Köln), Felix Weber (1860 Munich),

Pirate I know you agree with me about the desperate need for a left -midfielder - anyone you suggest that you think will fit the bill.
im guessing we'll go for a young loan probably from the Prem or Champ club ?

I see you put Johnson from the Saints - could be worth a shot.

Ideally I would like someone like Crewe's George Cooper, but I think he's probably destined for bigger and better things. Ben Pringle at Preston can play on the left and has done well at this level before and would be a good signing IMHO. Johnson on loan from Southampton could be a decent option if available. There are options in non-league who I believe could step up and perform straight away like Reise Allassani and Corey Whitely. We could even go down the foreign route with players like Luigi Falcone, Emmanuel Ledesma, Fran Pastor, Fabio Viteritti, Tobias Steffen, Davide Di Molfetta, Sigurdur Egill Lárusson etc, although I'm not sure how realistic that would be in this window.

right so it's Pringle to Rovers and Bodin to PNE plus we get some cash (100/150K).? Don't want it to happen but that wouldn't surprise me.
Then we'd need a right-midfielder - Lol ! Although Sercs would feel more comfortable out there than on the right !

Ideally someone like Harry Forrester, although he is currently on a season long loan at Wimbledon, so not sure how possible. The lad Gavin Whyte scored again today for Crusaders and is destined for bigger things, if he could be tempted it could prove to be an inspired signing. The lad Allassani can play on the right and numerous positions. Most of the left wingers I mentioned previously can actually play either side.

Stevenage's 20-year-old winger Ben Kennedy would be another good signing, but he has signed a contract extension this month and would probably be beyond our reach financially unfortunately. The Northern Ireland U21 international can play either side and has scored 4 goals and created 3 assists from 8 starts and 7 sub apps this season.

Says it all when a Stevenage player would be out of our reach financially! Are any of our players out of anyone's reach financially I wonder? (just asking for a friend)

(just asking for a friend) I thought the same thing when I wrote that actually. Doesn't seem right saying a Stevenage player is out of reach financially, especially when we have recently been taken over by supposedly rich owners, but that is the reality of the situation sadly. Seems a lifetime ago now when we were poaching Barry Hayles from them!

Never mind though we were playing Macclesfield and Torquay 2 years ago so for some I guess we should be happy eh.

A few hundred grand if we're lucky for a player who should be moving for a few million. Some of that money could've then been reinvested in the team, but now we'll probably have to make do with a couple of loans or whatever and the peanuts reinvested in cleaning carpets or upgraded hand dryers for the bogs.

It does make my water boil to see the average likes of Conor Washington (yup another Posh success) going for circa 3million yet we get peanuts for ours. We just dont have any business nouse, has this new guy done anything other than arrange a pie tasting event?? . Just to show how far we are behind City, my daughters school constantly offer after-school activities run by Bristol Sport, with the pupil and parent offered a ticket to either footy or rugby at a forthcoming game. Not that my daughter will ever be allowed to enter that shitpit but many will and many will keep going... If I werent a gashead I would have no idea Bristol Rovers even existed.

Not sure the Commercial Director has anything to do with players contracts and transfers so might be a bit unfair to level any blame on him for potentially losing Bodin on the cheap. i think Selling Hayles may have been pre Bosman(?) when even with less lengthy contracts decent fees could still be achieved. The only way to avoid losing players cheap is to dish out long contracts. That's got us in trouble before and many fans were against this.

Unfortunately the problems are deeper with how the club seems to be running without any sense of direction at the moment. A sense of direction and purpose and a forward looking set of owners and players would recognise we may be going places, without that.... UTG!

See JET is to be released by QPR, the kid has undoubted talent, but would DC fancy a character like him around? Don’t care that he used to play for the future champions of England😂

Don’t care that he used to play for the future champions of England😂 I don't care who a potential signing has played for in the past and I don't think Dc would either. However, he doesn't seem the type of character DC would want in the dressing room. The min barrier would be wages, I'd guess our top earner is on something like £5k per week whereas someone like JET would be on more like £20k per week(?).

Seen that he is being linked with Southend so surely he would be in our budget? If D.C. could get him motivated he could be mustard.

Jordan Graham has only made 4 sub apps on loan at Fulham from Wolves this season, although he did score 2 goals in an EFL Trophy start against Crawley. Perhaps Wolves could recall him and send on loan to us? Can play on either wing and has 7 assists in 19 appearances in the Championship previously.
