Leeds centre back or defensive midfielder Conor Shaughnessy could be a good loan option if available.

I don't know if we would be in with a shout, but 18-year-old 5ft 11in Moldova U21 international striker Vitalie Damascan would be worth a closer look. He has scored 18 goals in 32 games for his club side Sheriff Tiraspol in his home country and has also scored 5 goals from 11 appearances for Moldova at youth level.

In fairness, this kid looks too good for us and if I was a Championship club, or even a lower Prem club, I would be seriously considering him. But, as I've said before, you just never know! He could use us as a stepping stone and put himself in the shop window for a move higher...

The clip i saw of allasani made me smile. The defenders he was up against were woeful, don't think div 1 defences would be that generous. Big gamble i think.

What about the clip where he leaves half of the Man Utd youth team on their arse, or the one where he pings one in the net for the England youths?

Players worth scouting Luka Menalo, 21-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina U21 international winger. 33 goals in 85 appearances for his club NK Siroki Brijeg in his home country. Another couple of goals here: I watched Menalo and Amer Gojak rip Wales U21's apart on S4C in a Euro Qualifier back in November and Menalo looked well suited to the English game. He's only playing in front of 1,300 supporters for his club side and if we could tempt him here and he was affordable, I reckon he could be worth big money in next to no time.

18-year-old Norwegian youth international winger Jens Petter Hauge looks promising and worth scouting. He has represented Norway from U15-U19 level and created 13 assists to help his side Bodø/Glimt (average attendance 2,600) win promotion from the 2nd tier. He's out of contract on 31.12.2018 and could be worth an enquiry.

I wonder if anyone attached to the club is aware of or has watched Glenavon's 20-year-old Northern Ireland U21 midfielder Mark Sykes? He has excellent technical ability/quality from what I've seen and impressed this season scoring 9 goals and creating 6 assists from 16 appearances in all competitions. "There only two players I have played in the Irish League with over the last 15 years who I would compare him with are Stuart Dallas and Liam Boyce" said Glenavon's manager and former Northern Ireland international striker Gary Hamilton. "For me, at this age, he is potentially better than the two of them and he should be playing in England or Scotland." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/42221467Another player over there worth a closer look is Crusaders' 21-year-old Northern Ireland U21 international winger Gavin Whyte. He has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances this season. Previously trialled at Everton and Celtic. Perhaps DC could have a word with Mark McChrystal about the lad... 2 goals Quality hat-trick 2 goals Nice strike here recently from Whyte and a sensational freekick from Sykes a couple of years ago...

I wouldn't mind Lewis Macleod on loan from Brentford. Probably unlikely though.

Worth making a cheeky bid for Bryn Morris at Shrewsbury? The former England youth captain has only started 4 games from 14 since returning from injury. He is EXACTLY the sort of defensive midfielder our side is crying out for.
I'd also look to make a bid for Liverpool's 22-year-old 6ft 3in former England U20 centre back Lloyd Jones who is reportedly available for a permanent move. Oldham have been linked.

A player catching the eye in non-league this season is 23-year-old winger Joe Leesley at National League North side Harrogate Town. Last season he scored 9 goals and created 23 assists and this season he already has 15 goals and 18 assists from 30 appearances in all competitions. He won an England C cap back in 2016 and is worth a closer look to see if he could do a job at a higher level IMHO. Could be a late developer.
We could take a look at 21-year-old former England U16/U17/U18 left back Ben O'Hanlon at Harrogate Town while we're at it.

19-year-old left back Eddie Clarke is probably the best player to come through the Tranmere youth ranks for years and is attracting scouts from a higher level. He has 3 assists from 9 appearances.

Interesting thread and all the research you’ve done on here. Shows I think that there are lots of players who do very well in non league but they are non league for a reason I suppose, some of which are they are not good enough for league 1. The few that make the transition are worth a chance as Peterborough have done but I’m sure there are many who don’t make the jump to a higher league. I watched half an hour of the D/R and Chester match yesterday and it looked woeful, poor touch, hoof ball and little good passing that was good to watch. Watching the highlights of our match at Blackburn with some excellent play by us made me realise what a huge gap there is between where we were and where we are now. But the point I was going to make was with Chris Hargreaves doing the pundits job on BT Sport for the National League he must be building up a good knowledge of players at that level at least if not even lower down. He must know lots of players lower down. So I am presuming that whilst watching these lower leagues Chris H is scouting for us as well and reporting back to DC. UTG! there are always gems out there.... other players that have caught the eye like Joe Ward. Peterborough United have signed winger Joe Ward from National League side Woking for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year deal. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42635149
