www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40311889Tbh not sure what to make of the proposed rule changes can't see how changing from 90 mins play to 60 mins will make a difference if anything the ref will be to busy looking at his watch than concentrating on the game I did read somewhere they were thinking of changing the subs from 3 to 5 (junior football it's rolling subs so not a complete bad idea to increase the amount of subs)

Utter nonsense. If we are only getting 60 minutes worth of play, then so what. During the 90 minutes I'm sure players like to have a short break to get their breath back. If they are worried about time wasting, then the referees already have the ability to add on time, so that is already covered. If the game is 60 minutes long, then the winning team will still look to waste time. It's the nature of the beast.

I agree with the extra subs but think the rolling subs wouldn't work due to time wasting ok in kids football but not in the pro game

I agree with the extra subs but think the rolling subs wouldn't work due to time wasting ok in kids football but not in the pro game Well, they claim that these possible new rules are all about reducing time-wasting, but they want to increase the numbers of subs...yet making a substitution is one of the biggest time-wasting routines going ! My suspicion........if the ref stops his watch for every little thing....and that is reflected on the stadium clock.......it's just a small step to showing short adverts on the televised game during these stoppages, with the ref being instructed when to re-start the game.......Broadcasters are the Kings.......and it will be just like US sports, which are ran for the benefit of the advertisers/broadcasters.
