Did you know the NHS costs 120 billion a year? Government needed a majority to make and push decisions.
Had Labour won by the same small margin, they would have needed to do similar.

There isn't a magic money tree - It's true. There really isn't one.We must tighten our belts - Common senseWe must have austerity - Government are overspendingStrong and stable - Nothing wrong with that is there? No money for the NHS - Currently spending on the NHS is the highest it has ever been.No money for the security services - Police budget increased by over 1 billion. Emphasis on Intelligence rather than bods on the beat.Cut the money for the sick and disabled - Welfare spending is the highest it has ever been.We don't have any money, we must work hard and save first before we can spend - Common senseSave £5k on cladding which has cost many lives in horrific circumstances - Local government issue and nothing to do with the National government.WELL WELL WELL I'VE JUST FOUND A MAGIC MONEY TREE WITH £1BN DANGLING FROM IT SO I CAN HOLD ONTO POWER www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jun/26/shoddy-dup-deal-cost-theresa-may-more-1bnWhatever political party behaves like this are selfish, greedy, liars, this is an utter disgrace. I keep saying this, but does anyone here think that Angela Merkel is 'clinging to power'? She also has a minority government. Her party, the CDU, is currently in coalition with the Green Party. Before that it was the SPD Party. The German political system is designed to stop one party having a majority...........clinging to power eh? It's just nonsense talk.

Labour's spending commitments would have cost hundreds of billions........slightly different. Plus, the money going to Northern Ireland is to increase Public Services. Why are the Left complaining about increased spending on Public Services?

Why are the Left complaining about increased spending on Public Services? I agree it's a lot less, but in essence what the left have been championing for investment
and for everyone saying they have bought the DUP, my understanding is that the extra billion can only be spent by the NI executive, so it is in the interest of SinnFein and the DUP to come to a power sharing agreement.
So whilst Gerry Adams and co bitch about the Tories while still never turning up to Parliament, and suggesting The Conservatives are harming the process in NI, they have actually given then an incentive to sort sh** out together

That's right. The money is not for the DUP, but for the people of Northern Ireland. It is a bit rich of the SNP to complain when Scotland already receives more money per head of population than anywhere else in the UK.
I do have one bug-bear with your post........when you talk about Labour and 'investment'. They call it investment, but in reality it's just spending. Investment implies you get a return. I cannot see how spending a couple of hundred billion re-nationalizing those four industries will provide a return on the investment, plus the government will then take on the work pension liabilities for the thousands upon thousands of workers in those industries, which in the long-term will cost even more billions!

Oh dear Bags, you didn't fall for that did you? First, we are not out of the EU yet. Secondly, read it again. Nowhere does it say we will give 350 million a week to the NHS. Thirdly - The NHS funding is at the highest it has ever been. Questions should be aimed at the CEO's of the various NHS Trusts, whom all earn more than the PM. Where are they spending the money they have been allocated?

Even that berk Boris Johnson pointed to it and mentioned it in several statements.

Where are they spending the money they have been allocated? Don't get me started on how much these NHS Trust Managers are earning. The government basically just provide the overall amount, with every party trying to claim the moral high ground by promising, "five, six, seven or eight billion' in extra funding for the NHS, and the politicians do take a lot of sh** over this. However, I'd prefer to see the Trust CEO's on tele, explaining where they spend the money. The NHS does need reform, and it's about time an adult debate took place over how it is funded, otherwise we will continue to get this clusterfuck.

It doesn't say spend 350 million a week on the NHS. That's how the Brexit voters read it. Some advertising bod earnt a lot of money coming up with that slogan.
