Has anyone else noticed how Rovers seem to be "hoovering up" a lot of prospective talent?
I confess I don't know much about the U21s, but as most seem to be on professional contracts this must be costing a pretty penny. Are transfer fees involved with U21s at all?

Can't imagine that these players are on that much money but added together must come to the cost of 3 or 4 first teamers wages. The few I've read about aren't local either so had to move here. Guess they will be living in shared houses together. Hopefully in the coming yrs this policy will of proven to of been a shrewd investment.

To be fair we've already got the likes of Olly Clarke Lockyer and Harrison so it's already happening so we're just making sure it continues to happen.

Its just what we needed to do to create a Development squad, this time next year it will already have X amount of players so signings will be less frequent but when you create an entire new squad there is a lot of new signings to enjoy. 14 man squad Atm. Looking good
If every year or 2 we get a broom/lockyer/harrison/clarke/lines then its worth it

A couple of them should be pushing first team this season or next so could be a tidy bit of business.
Good signs we're developing the club as a whole and not just the first team.

Ive been really impressed with interviews from chris hargreaves and its very exiting that were recruiting and building a decent development squad.

All very nice until they get hoovered up by Championship clubs That is a worry of course but DC , Olly Clarke , harrison , Lockyer etc have all done well and helped us progress without being snapped up by championship clubs or bigger league 1 clubs. That's largely down to us having a rich owner who understands football and having a manager that the players love playing for. We're in better shape in that sense than at any time I've known supporting us. Gerry Francis built a fantastic team but we didn't have the set up or money to hold on to him or the players and as soon as we had success it was all taken away from us. If Higgs was still chairman DC would have gone to Leeds and taken Taylor Lockyer and maybe others with him in true Rovers fashion just like Francis did after his success. Things are different now. In my opinion anyway.
