No idea if Lockyer was poor, but this whole captaincy thing is bollox as i keep saying and a sel fufilling prophecy. If the other 10 players need to look to 1 to drag them up, then they are looking at the wrong player and should be looking at themselves, whether its Bristol Rovers or Manchester United Trouble is a lot of fans beleive it do, simply because the British press have built this image of what a captain should be Yeah, there are captains off the pitch, there are shouters on the pitch, there are some players who need to be shouted at, there are some players who it is best to leave alone, everyone's different. The idea that you need one player to shout at everyone or everything just falls apart and it's all their fault is ludicrous.

He was poor today, but I didn't think Sweeney was much better - looked sluggish. Far too many aimless long balls from both of them too. Very poor. I'd give Burn a start now in place of Locks.

Yeah, and Sweeney's pass for their second goal was really sh**. I guess Tom should have shouted something like 'Sweendog, don't do a sh** pass. Do a good one!' and everything would have been fine.

I'm not talking about him shouting more effort to anyone in the team, I am talking about him organising and advising our defence.
I've played centre half at quite a good level, every department on the pitch needs organisation. Players work in twos and units.
He's played 200 games and that back four was a shambles today and I expect Tom to lead it and organise it.

I didn't used to give a f**k about anyone else on the team.

So basically it doesn't matter if Locks is a good footballer or not just as long as shouts at his team mates? If DC did take the arm band off Locks who would he give it to? Probably the only real candidate is Lines and he's even struggling to hold down his first team place. Possibly Sweeney but is it wise to give it to the youngest 1st team member whose only on loan anyway.

Well Peter Parker says it's a myth about captains, I question if he has ever played the game? Macca used to organise our back four, Elliott did it, Tilson did it, but Tom can't even organise himself as seen again today. It's time he was dropped, nothing do with the captaincy, he simply isn't good enough at this level. This has been a problem for us now for 9 months. Sweeney came in last season and stablised us and Tom but as last week and again today, Tom doesn't lead or defend well in our defence. Why sign Burn? Tom is one of the 4 undroppables with Brown, Sincs and Ellis. Sadly I have to agree. The 4 undroppables were probably the worst 4 on the pitch today. Changes needed.

Lockyer did all his shouting at Smith after their 4th. Not entirely sure why seeing as we got sliced apart at the back
Wasn't exactly encouraging to see our captain and new keeper shouting at each other
Bollocks to "it shows they care".....hopefully there isn't friction and they get on

Wait till you see the goals, Leads skinned but Locks no where near no7 crossing the ball.
Goal 2, Sweeney bad ball, Locks no where near bloke who shoots and scores.
Goal 3, Locks loses Steven Taylor and he scores, free header like Charlton again.
Goal 4, Lockyer never even goes to the floor to block cross, looks shocked when their bloke taps it in and I can see why him and Smith had a big row.

Lol, I thought Brown and Ellis were OK today.
Lines was awful.
Locks, Leads, Sinclair, Sweeney, Nichols and Sercombe (in the first half) were poor.

Second goal down the centre and to the right, Third Locks loses his man. Fourth, bloke run in from Brown side, he's no where in sight

Brown has not had a decent player in front of him since Monkhouse left.

Brown has not had a decent player in front of him since Monkhouse left. That was in the Conference, this is two leagues up, I think that standard helped Brown and Monkhouse. Brown granted put in a good cross today, all too little too late and he was due one after how much of the ball he has had to cross. From Charlton to know and inlcluding corners he's had over 30 attempts

We had the ball on the right a couple of seconds before the vid clip starts, and Brown is obviously thinking about chasing the game. We gave the ball away on the right and a few seconds later they cross it have it in the back of the net. The idea that Brown should have been covering that is ridiculous. Sweeney is back there, though, and he runs across towards the man that Locks is already marking, leaving the scorer free.

When Leadbitter was beaten for the first goal Lockyer for some reason moved to his left away from the attacker, glanced to his left to see who was behind him and then decided to move to his right to cover the attacker who by now had entered the area and crossed with Lockyer nowhere near him. Very poor defending, no doubt about it. If the likes of Lockyer,Brown, Sinclair and Harrison are not dropped next week, Roadman will surely be proved correct as it's quite obvions to me they are simply not good enough.
