Dundee have completed the signing of former Motherwell and Scotland striker David Clarkson.
The 28-year-old had been training with the Scottish Premiership side and did enough to win a deal.
"He hasn't really played as a main striker for a few years but we see him as a centre forward," Dundee manager Paul Hartley said.
"David will give us good competition and we are delighted to get him signed up."
Clarkson has two Scotland caps to his name and scored on his international debut in a friendly against Czech Republic in 2008.
He started his career with Motherwell and broke into their first team at the age of 17, spending six years at Fir Park before switching to Bristol City for a reported £800,000.
After two years with the English side, during which time he played alongside Hartley, he went on loan to Brentford before moving across the city to join Bristol Rovers in 2012.
Interested to see how he gets on as a main striker.

Was clearly one of the best footballers in the side last season so Ward decided to leave him on the bench.

Was clearly one of the best footballers in the side last season so Ward decided to leave him on the bench. Or play him as a defensive winger !!!

Goes to show just how crap Scottish football is if a useless waste of space like him can get a place at a club like that.

When played as a striker, he looked like he could score. Shame he wasn't used enough in that role. Good luck Clarkie

I thought he was slow and unfit.
Not very good whenever I saw him play.

A good player who could have done so much more, not sure whose fault that was but on a long list of ex-players who didn't get a good run in the team and when they did played too often out of position.

Another good player not suited to kick n run. Too good for us. Joins the list of players who came from and/or went onto better. Scottish premier? Better than f**kin vanarama!!!!

Some absolute nonsense always was written about Clarkson - one of the only bits of quality we've had in years. If he'd played every game he was available for up front last season we wouldn't have gone down.

Great bloke who genuinely tried hard to keep us up and was f*cking gutted as much as all of us about what happened.
Good luck to him!
