I didn't catch any of the interview, so wondered what he said the next identified step for the club was? He said he's got all the names and addresses of all the people on the forums and he's gonna come round their houses and tell them everything they want to know. I'll offer him a cup of tea but then not serve it at the last minute. I will not be explaining myself.

It went down the pan way before then; at least as early as the £100k+ expenditure on the pitch. You can read into that as you wish. However it was stated at the time. The UWE was going to take 2 years to be ready and Darrell wanted the best possible playing surface at the Mem. 100k is peanuts to achieve what the Manager wants. Now it looks like a very good investment. Not so good if we're now moving the pitch northwards.

what were the plan b's for the severnside ,mangotsfield, stoke Gifford and Higgs era UWE stadiums ? The plan B talk is rubbish, Other options only exist BEFORE you make your choice. Once you have decided what you are going for its based on that being the best option at the time. If you need as much money as possible for plan A and club running you don't waste hundreds of thousands on plan B. Plan A is always the new plan you work towards.
Rovers are now focused on Plan A

Wael told Geoff that Clubs need to own their own grounds as history shows that problems arise. This is a clear indication that The UWE collapsed with the freehold being one of the main sticking points. We have to have faith in Wael to deliver as there is no-one else known to us who can. We have no control over events at BRFC so all the moaning can do no good at all. I have faith that Wael and his family will try their very best for BRFC.

Same as earlier in the week we need to reconvene, but no timescales even given for when that is to take place, nor when they hope to submit plans or start work. I sense we're now stuck at the dilapidated for the long term.
The indications now are that we simply couldn't come to an agreement with the UWE, not that they were dragging their heels with negotiations the implications nowwere that we parted on good terms.

Well reassuring......not! No answers and no idea. The fans put their faith in wael and he is letting us down badly. Come up with a plan or GET OUT! Grow up. He has a better idea than most, we have more chance of a success with WAQ than now and has not let us down. Give him for than 7 days to formulate the next plan to move us forward. Or go and earn yourself a couple of hundred million and have a go yourself, which I doubt you will ever achieve. In fairness I think it was Wael's Dad who made most of the money.

Give them a chance! The UWE deal only went down the pan the other day. You can't just magic plans out of nowhere. He already said they will have to regroup and develop a plan for the new project. This will take several weeks, they will need to commission a professional team (architects, engineers, lawyers, commercial advisors etc.). I think they deserve a little breathing space to be fair. UTG! 18 months to establish that the deal isn't going to work after all? Something isn't right; there are loads of missing facts and I doubt are all "confidential". The statements from the two parties are contradictory.

Be careful what you wish for ... it was a bold decision to back away from a bad deal brokered by the last lot from Box 1. We need Wael far more than he needs us and posts like yours add no value to anything. We are all frustrated but either run with it as a true fan needs to or go elsewhere.

The deal was probably dead as soon as the UWE refused to sell the land for a sensible price. Given what's happened in the past with Eastville perhaps the ALQ's made the correct decision, even if we don't like the fact it means no new stadium for a few more years.

Wael is a Gashead. I'm proud that he is. stick with him as he cares about our club. Our club is 134 years old. Wael has been at the helm for only 1.5 of those years. The UWE news was disappointing, but we now have to be patient and wait for the next chapter. It's only football my friends, not the end of the world.

If the negotiations were as difficult as it is being made to sound right now, then it is a matter of negligence that a plan b isn't ready to be wheeled out now as a matter of urgency. Its only the impatient ones that are making it a necessity to be urgent. In what way has WAQ been negligent? Negligence would have been signing a deal that wouldn't have given us a stable income stream and being tenants again on someone elses land... Even drawing plans to the correct spec with architects understanding the whole scape of the land will take 3 months. 3 months ago we were still hoping to build at the UWE under favourable terms. It doesn't cost anything to have a contingency plan. It sounds like were only just deciding what we need to do. A new stadium is critical, not a nice to have but a fundamental factor for our future.
