We start by getting rid of the Premiership and Championship. The New Football League would then have 4 divisions as follows:
Div 1 (currently the Premiership)
Div 2 (currently the Championship)
Div 3 (currently League 1)
Div 4 (currently League 2!)
I am sure the above will be very familiar to many of you! However fans under 30 would find it strange.
The winners of the FA cup and League Cup would qualify for the Champions League joined by the Div 1 Champions and runners up.
All suggestions of B teams and under 23 teams etc would be binned.
Div 1 sides would have to play a minimum of 50% British players to aid our international ambitions
Agents would be discouraged with a unit set up by the FA and FL to oversee transfer requests. No more £300k clauses!
Match of the Day would show matches from all 4 divisions (remember Rovers beating Bournemouth 3-0 and losing 2-1 at home to Oldham Athletic in our 73/74 promotion season).
This could catch on and run to many pages. Perhaps we could encourage the fans of all clubs to protest and demand changes that are for the benefit of fans.
Anyway who ever listens to the fans.
