My own opinions from the game, results to follow soon.
Found it hard to rate, given we were second-best for about 55 minutes, but then forced to dig deep with ten men.
Slocombe 5.5 Not at fault for the sending off, dropped a corner in the first half though.
Partington 8 Played well in three different positions Lockyer 8 Really solid game with some important blocks which highlighted his improved positioning Sweeney 6Still not back to the player he was last season Brown 6 Isolated at times especially from throw-ins
Lines 6.5 Good pass for goal, but the midfield were forced deeper as the game went on Sercombe 6.5 Put in a good shift, though he goes about it quietly O. Clarke 6.5 Missing at times in the first half, put in a shift when down to ten and scored Bodin 6 A couple of long-range shots but couldn't work that space from the defenders for the rest of the game
Nichols 5.5 One nice flick to Bodin, but out of the game for long periods Gaffney 7 Well-taken goal, isolated thereafter
Subs: Harrison 6.5 Worked hard after it became obvious we needed everyone to defend Leadbitter 4 Woeful backpass and then got beaten again for his booking Andre 8 Did everything asked of him in testing circumstances. One top-class saved that deflected of Sweeney's shin. Picked out Harrison with a couple of kicks as well.
Crowd 7 Like against Fleetwood, got going once a decision went against us Ref 5 Thought all of our bookings and the red were fair decisions. Gave a lot of questionable decisions Walsall's way though. The linesmen were worse. Walsall 7 Looked like the home team and should have gone onto win. Didn't quite know what to do with the man advantage though.

Results in and Joe Partington was Man of the Match for the first time with a score of 7.35.
The starting XI average was 6.48, very similar as in the corresponding fixture last season, 6.53.
I missed it, but the Bradford game was stevek192's 150th game rated in these threads. His average rating across those games has been a 6.4. Steve's highest ever rating was for Bolton away last season, an 8.5. His lowest rating was a 1.8 at Shrewsbury last season.
Slocombe 5.7
Partington 7.4 Lockyer 7.3 Sweeney 6.3 Brown 6.5
Lines 6.3 Sercombe 6.5 O. Clarke 6.5 Bodin 6.1
Nichols 5.7 Gaffney 7.0
Subs: Harrison 6.8 Leadbitter 4.8 Andre 7.0
Crowd 7.1 Ref 4.1 Walsall 6.9
