Think we underestimated the impact he had with in the squad . Definitely missing his defensive experience

We let in 12 goals in our last 4 league games last season?

We let in 70, had a negative goal difference and conceded more than relegated Coventry and Swindon last season. We certainly don't miss Steve Yates. We just set up far too attack minded trying to outscore teams when some games just require us to see them out by putting men behind the ball.

DC says that we don't have the players to sit back but one of better performances away from home in recent years came at AFC Wimbledon last season when we got a goal and sat back and defended well to get a 1-0 win.

We let in 12 goals in our last 4 league games last season? we also I'd nothing to play for by then. Don't think we would have approached some games in same vain. Something is not right with how we up 2nd the players are not strong enough. midfield lightweight and so is the defending.

We still conceded goals like we are now when Yates was here , not down to his absence in my opinion.

We let in 12 goals in our last 4 league games last season? Yes but Yates' mind was in the sunshine of Crete by then....

I miss Steve Elliot more than anyone right now. A Rock in defence and could score with his feet. Binned him off to soon also.

We want you and we need you. One out of three ain't bad.

I've questioned who has replaced him and I do think he had a positive impact whilst here but let's face it. This thread is putting 2 and 2 together.

We have increased the backroom staff considerably and our goalkeeping dept. budget must have gone through the roof, but I see nothing to help the rest of our defensive game. Our first team lack a defensive organiser whether they be in defence or midfield, it could be a seasoned pro who is not afraid to put the foot in and direct operations.
IMHO DC has created a "nice" team one that doesn't do the sneaky push or shove and then just accepts decisons all to easily. Refs make mistakes but when I watch Tom he just stands there he doesn't seem to voice an opinion that makes the Ref think actually I might not be 100% correct and nexxt time.........
It looks like we have to wait now until January but I think we need more bite in midfield and I would try moving Rory back a bit because I think he would give us that edge we need in midfield.

Taking the first 8 games of each of the last 3 seasons we have taken a total of 31 points from an available 72 (Season 14/15 11points, 15/16 11 points, 16/17 10 points). This season 9 points.
