Well deserved win by rovers in an energetic and dominant performance which should have brought a more comfortable win. 20 year old german striker keenan dunwall scored the goal and was unlucky not to get another but was thwarted by a good save. Hes 6ft with quick feet and a real eye for goal,on the downside his hold up play could be better. The team played 4-3-3 with luke russe and cameron hargreaves very dominant in midfield. Alexis andre played in goal but didnt have to make a save of note. Both full backs jordan williams and michael kelly performed well. dc,mike stowell and steve hamer were at the game played at yate town though i think dc left at half time. I had a conversation with dc at half time,he told me many of the lads were on short term deals and were paid £150pw. He said he looks for desire and determination in a player more than pretty skills,he also said luke russe reminds him a of stuart sinclair with his in your face all action style.

Dunwald seems to have settled in nicely so far. Not to be too pedantic, but 'm pretty sure he is 6ft 2in.
One quick point, what was Mike Stowell doing at the game?

How can you live in Bristol on £150 pw would only just cover your rent. How can they afford to eat and have an occasional night out? If true then I'm a little disgusted by this set up. They will all be down the food bank Monday mornings. Is it even legal to pay below minimum wage? Can only assume it's a part-time 20 hours a week contract or zero hours contract or something. Common Wael have some respect for people. Apologies in advance if BB is talking rubbish. I had assumed they would be on at least £15 k a year if full-time.

Well that's a bit better but still sounds like it's all being done on the cheap...not impressed, no summer holiday for these lads and I'd water off quick to another club if there was any interest.

I know he played for the sh**, I saw him in a couple of games, once against the sh** actually, for Wolves in the infamous 'mascot fight' thrashing. As far as I'm aware though he is GK coach at Leicester City?

They're no doubt better off on £150PW with accommodation and meals paid for than they are on £300PW and having to do it all themselves. They're young lads, they have no responsibilities and I don't think it's bad tbh.

Calm down westwindy. I'd be amazed if DC started discussing players salaries with a stranger at a game. Even if it is true they're not being forced to be at the club, they're grown up and can make their own decisions. No need for a meltdown.

DC confirmed in an interview last week in the Post that they earn £150pw plus they get accomodation and "other incentives" whatever they may be.
I wonder if all the talk of houses at the Colony training ground may be accommodation for the players rather than pay rent for digs (assuming they do).

Why do people actually think we'll be building houses at the Colony. No way. You've got more chance of getting through U.S. customs with your friend Umbawaloo without being stopped

They are on National Minimum Wage as salary, plus accommodation which includes most of their meals.

I thought the same and came to the same conclusion as you about part time contracts. I suppose if your on a 3 or 6 month contract in cheap digs[rovers advertise for hosts for young players] chasing the dream its something you have to go for.

Your right im sure about his height, the centre back marking him was very tall both today and v cheltenham. Stowell was just a spectator stood with dc,he left before dc and i when i approached dc to ask some players names he had gone. Dc said dunwall needs to work on his general game but always looks a threat near goal.

A combination of the two would be nice. Bodin aside, I can't help thinking the 1st team squad lacks a player or two who can conjure some magic and create something out of nothing.
