I just can't understand why we signed Nichols?? If he was too much of a pussy and scared of the Peterborough fans it was never going to work for him here.

We were all over them for 40 minutes. We failed to capitalise. At a place like Pompey, that's vital as if they get their noses in front it's always going to be tough with the atmosphere the home fans create. Having said that. Should their first goal have stood? Anyone watching the live feed? Was it a Rovers player that touched it or a Pompey player? We're not really getting the rub of the green at the moment but that will change. Important that we bounce back on Saturday. UTG! I was watching but it happened so quickly it was hard to tell. I didn't even notice anything was wrong until the ref went over to the linesman. Here's the stats: Rovers dominate first half. Half time score? 1-0 Pompey. Annoying but I can take that. Pompey dominate 2nd half. 2nd half score? 2-0 Pompey. Should have been more. Shots on target for Pompey = 3. Goals for Pompey = 3. Rovers in the 1st half had 61% possession. But still lost the first half. By FT we had 52% in our possession and lose 3-0. What does that tell us? That we don't have a goal threat

What does that tell us? Pompey defended well, and although our build up play was excellent, they made it difficult to get a through ball. A couple of the crosses were blind and out of desperation to get the ball into the box. All in all it was an excellent first half though. I thought Nicholls was too slow to pick up on his one-on-one chance, and when we had a couple of shots blocked in quick succession I don't think you could have fit any more people in that box.

DC did not bring in the players he promised at the end of last season. Lockyer is playing poorly and not a captain. Nicols has been a awful signing. , another Mr no goals. Can't defend, can't score means we will struggle.

However as we let in 2 more fairly immaterial.

I think it's clear now, sadly that we have not improved from last year and if fact we have gone backwards as a side as we are minus the snakes goals. Can't blame DC, nor even weal as such - but we have not got the players on board... on the showings this far to take us beyond a mid table finish. Why can we blame DC when he rebuilt the squad this summer? He must have at least a mid table budget so a top 10 team isn't out of the question, or at least one which doesn't get stuffed in every away game.

No doubt a win on Saturday agaist the club bottom of the league will make us world beaters to some on here. I would like to consider myself a decent Gashead but my patience has finally given way and our abysmal away form of last season has now continued into this, I am not only doubting our players but seriously questioning the performance of our Manager. As has already been said on here tonight, the honeymoon is now over and we need to ask questions much closer to home rather than blame the referees every game.

We keep losing and DC bring back in to the 11 the same players.
Lockyer should not be on the pitch, please can we start our next game with Bola, Broadbent, Sweeney and Brown. The Blackpool strikers didn't want to go near Broads and Sweeney.
Midfield is still lightweight, Lines and O Clarke have been so poor this season. Lines marginally better. Bodin not really looked great lately, Sercombe only one who has been consistently good, not great but good.
Strikers, who can honestly say they have faith in any of them to consistently score.
DC in my opinion needs to revise his philosophy, we are now at a point where changing the team every week is not helping, it is another 11 that goes out and look lucky to get anything.
Second half Saturday best I've seen this season. Please just pick a team and stick with it.

All gasheads listen you can't take it out on individual players it's a team game with a manager who chops and changes the team win, lose or draw.

14-18th finish this year, our defence is pathetic.

It changed the entire game. Why did it, are you suggesting Pompey wouldn't have scored anyway, it's not like we were 1 up then lost 2-1. Although it was a fair goal from a fair corner.

The commentators sound like the biggest bunch of tards. How can they say every week that rovers didn't deserve to get hammered when all we did was have a few shots blocked?? Whilst Portsmouth are hitting the post and banging in goal after goal! Nichols is the biggest waste of money, I would rather have Luke James. Then we bring on some kid for a debut. We clearly have no money and I feel abbot sorry for Clarke, he was obviously made certain promises but ends up with a worse squad than last year. How I wonder where we would be right now if the sh** hadn't stolen Taylor.... I will always hate them. There must have been some money in the budget as why else were we trying for deadline signings? The £200k to £300k on Nichols could perhaps better spent. DC was slow in the market and focused too much on the dozen plus pre-season friendly rather than building the squad. He needs to move quicker in transfer window next time. I don't feel sorry for DC as some of this problem is of his making (e.g not replacing Yates) and now he needs to dig deep and scrap as many points as we can and then see if there is the budget in January to strengthen.

Nichols is the biggest waste of money Peterborough must be laughing at us. We spend 300k or whatever it was for him and they go out and spend 400k on Marriott who creates 2 assists and scores 8 goals in 10 games. I said when Luton were looking at James Collins we should have gone in for Marriott. The lad is a class act and has scored goals ever since his Ipswich youth days, where he got 26 in the season before his first loan move.

I mentioned this before but a lot of our singings have come from Danny Coles' agency - so I guess that who we sign is dependent on who Volenti have on the books, and of those who is willing to come to Bristol.

At Wolves - more mature managerial performance. Team solid in the spine with a job to do. Very fortunate to win Saturday. Then tonight we make ourselves so vulnerable in front of the back four. Should have adopted a similar strategy as at Wolves - hold what you've got. But this project mentality is going to be our downfall.

Time to question DC he keeps swapping and changing players, positions, formations these players are league 1 / league 2 standard DC thinks he wenger. Grow up. Do we have to bottom of the table before you realise that we are not very good. I agree with Harley, we are playing against decent footballers now at this level, we arent playing the milkman, the barber and a baker.. the rotation system could get away with then. Our own team is not in a brilliant state, just keep things the same for 5 minutes. this whole project thing is bollocks, if the players are any good they adapt themselves to play against the opposition. The swapping of players is not helping us.
