My side would be .... Slocombe bola. Broadbent. Sweeney . Brown Clarke. Lines. Sercombe. Bodin. Harrison. Telford. I agree apart from Nichols for Clarke playing outside Lines.

thats all he will be doing the rest of his life cause he will never get a shag the filthy slag He has 2 children I believe. He split up with his wife because of his love for the Skates (Portsmouth). He is laughing stock in Southampton just as much as Portsmouth football club and their Stadium. Southampton always has been the best in Hampshire, better fans and stadium. dont like either much,Southampton like city on the financial side f**k everyone over then start again

Southampton always has been the best in Hampshire, better fans and stadium. No they haven't. Portsmouth have won 2 league titles and 2 Fa Cups. Fratton Park was always bigger than The Dell. Portsmouth's record attendance is 51,385 Southampton's is 32,363 which is 6,000 less than ours. Portsmouth are the bigger club. How can a team playing in the lower leagues be still considered a bigger club than one playing in the Premiership? Southampton have just been taken over in a deal valuing them at £200m, Pompey owner paid less then £6m to take them over earlier this season.

By your logic. When Rangers were demoted to the 4th Division in Scotland, they weren't a bigger club than Inverness Caledonian Thistle? The current league a club is in has no baring on the historical size of a football club.

I'd go with: Slocombe Partington Lockyer Sweeney Bola Sercombe O.Clarke Lines Bodin Harrison Telford 1-1 Have you watched Saturday's goals again? Not only did Parts fail to cut out the cross but showed no real desire to make any attempt to try and block the shot at goal, either he's injured or not that interested. you write some insane stuff sometimes.

That's the weakest looking bench we've seen for some time. I presume Gaffney is now injured as well?

I must of missed that. Who is Dunwald? He's the German U23 winger that's impressed in the developement squad recently.

I could have sworn that Southampton were 2 leagues higher and selling out a 32,000 capacity stadium, whereas Pompey can't quite fill their 20,000 ground. Also, Saints have been in the top flight all bar 11 of the last 50 seasons, whilst Pompey have only been in the top flight for 8 of those seasons. Pompey and the Saints have each won the FA Cup once during that period. Those other honours you mention of Pompey's were an FA Cup in 1939 and two league titles in the late 40s. OK, they might have been the bigger club at that time, just either side of the Second World War, but let's face it, they have no claim to be the bigger club in the modern day. It's a ridiculous statement. What they do have, though, is massive potential and a huge fan base for the division. That cannot be denied.

No Byron on the bench? Presuming he must have picked up a knock given the two rookie wingers on the team sheet. Thought he did some good things on Saturday, too.

Even in their recent history, they won the FA Cup in 2008. Their highest attendance is 20,000 more than Southampton's. That is what size of clubs is based on.
