By all means reply to that message where i said that to prove your case. Ive made the case that in my view the owners didnt give the manager the budget he wanted. Ive also argued that this season could to difficult after the team has come so far in a short space of time. Maybe dc will over achieve again? hope so Whilst I feel we've been let down by our CURRENT owners, DC was happy with his budget this season. He knew it wouldn't rival the top 5 or 6, so was happy with what he was given. So much so, that just before the window shut, he was looking to sign a certain gentleman from Pompey, and was told he could buy him if he wished. He finally decided for whatever reason not to do so. I think the big problem with DC is that he doesnt have extensive knowledge of players at our current level and upwards. It's ok finding jewels at National League level, as he has operated in that sphere for a long time. As we move up the leagues, he needs a proper scouting set up that can help him. And of course the nerve to spend. He has done ok in that regard so far, it now remains to see if he can do so as we hopefully go higher and higher. Taking the point of D.C. having been good at getting lower level players and improving them to achieve promotions at conference and then league two. This being the extent of his previous knowledge and experience. We can probably all agree that he did that task very well.
As you point out moving up a league puts him at a level he is less experienced at and has less knowledge of. This could well be the case.
It could also be the case that D.C. can get lower level players currently making up the squad (last season for example) to play above themselves. This leads to survival in that league in a comfortable position.
If he then uses the newly attained knowledge and experience ,he then gets an idea of what players are needed to do better at league one. He also has seen players at various clubs playing at that level so gets an idea of who he would like to sign ( Sercombe , Nicholls for example)
This however only means he has a limited knowledge and experience of league one. Season two at that level should see greater learning of all aspects of league one football. Also on where he needs to strengthen his already improved squad.
If this then leads to season three in League One being a playoff season or better I think we would all be happy (?)
Given this would demonstrate D.C.'s ability to adapt and learn given reasonable backing and patience . This same process could then follow on in a championship season. Season one...just staying there ,doing as well as possible. learn and improve. Over a period of seasons the team could potentially challenge at the top end of the championship. Given patience and reasonable backing.
Evolution not revolution.

Will be a quiet night from certain forum members. Expect a new rumour next week ...

When we do what will you say then, by 6 or more? Last season if we had beaten the bottom 6 as we should have done we could well be a championship team now. We need to maintain our home record and get about 8 away wins. I don't care if it's top or bottom clubs. Just get the bloody wins. In fairness to DC who I also thought was over the top yesterday in his comments, he dedicated that one to the away fans. I can assure you that resonated with me. Over the last two years, we have seen plenty of crap, but yesterday's result was one to particularly enjoy. I completely forgot about the capitulations at Pompey and Wigan etc. calm down tiger 🐯

Since we went up with Northampton (who were champions) in 2016, we have played them three times, taking 9 points and amassing a goal difference of +12
