I think nichols in the 1st half and telford in the 2nd half made a terrible hash of a great opportunity to score. Both were clear of the defence but were let down by a poor touch on the ball. For me they were the defining costly moments in the match. Wasn't the defining moment Oxford's goal down to TB's poor pass? Looking at those highlights you have to question why Sweeney was dropped today as most of Oxford's chances came from TB's three mistakes. Really 3 mistakes and how many has Sweeney made in the games he's played ? how many passes were misplaced by other players out there today that put us under pressure ? even after the pass we still had chances to clear. Broadbent's been one of only a few consistent players this season !!

Ref sweeney, hes been making bad mistakes all season so not sure about your reasoning on that?

I can't recall Sweeney making 3 mistakes in one game all leading to goal scoring chances, not recently anyway, can you? Plus Sweeney won us the game V Blackpool when he came on, playing to inexperienced players on our left side, which has been the stronger of the two does seem to be asking for trouble.

What having an opinion after watching a match? TB will come good but Sweeney could be the better of the two at present.

On a positive note, I thought that that was one of the best games of competitive football that I have seen in a long time. with two evenly matched sides playing quality football at a very high tempo. Personally, I thought that a draw would have been a fair result and am obviously disappointed with the final score. However, that performance gave me massive pride in the progress that we have made as a team over the last 2/3 years. If we can continue to produce performances like this, I am confident that we will challenge at the top end of the table this year.
Every one of team showed quality and passion and you could see what it meant to them at the end of the game.

My first visit this season!!!! Definite home win Jonah Maybe I should go to the West Ham and Swindon games to ensure we get knocked out of the Tiinpot Cup

What having an opinion after watching a match? TB will come good but Sweeney could be the better of the two at present. So the defining moment wasn't - for instance - Sercombe blasting two chances wide or high? Or other good chances wasted? (& BTW I thought Sercombe otherwise excellent.)

Describes it as "a high- quality game..both teams completed strongly & demonstrated skills... not out of place at a higher level." Unfortunately didn't go our way but no reason for unwarranted criticism.

Those 2 chances missed by Sercombe were terrible, and I didn't think much of the rest of his day.

One of them was 30 yards out!! more speculative shot than chance for me.

Completely agree with you except we will probably have to wait till next season before we are top 6 material.

Bitter pill to swallow after last week's outstanding demolition of Northampton. Rovers consistency of being inconsistent continues. Oh well, sack everyone and have a pie. UTG!

We hardly lost 6-0 did we? Our win last week was more of a reflection of how poor Northampton were and a perfect storm of sorts. We weren’t bad against Oxford it was a tight game not helped by the controversy of the penalty call at the other end moments before. In reality it could have gone either way.
