Slocombe 6 not a great deal to do Partington 5 caught for pace a couple of times, not as effective going forward as he can be Lockyer 6 defended well, could have done better with a free header at goal first half Broadbent 6 sloppy pass for the goal but thought he defended well and looked as good as the Sweeney Bola 5 not at his best seemed slow today Lines 6 tried to keep us moving but very little movement ahead of him, great effort on goal second half. Wish we would vary our corner taker though O. Clarke 5 ok until stupid booking meant he had to come off Sercombe 5 Was well involved but not a lot of quality Nichols 4 great first touch but no pace and a bit weak Gaffney 6 was a handful for their defence surprised he went off Harrison 5.5 He too caused them problems but not much decent service Subs: Sinclair 6 slotted in ok and gave us a bit of movement in midfield to make himself available for a pass Moore 3 no real impact Telford 5 looked a threat and seems the closet to a Taylor replacement at this time Crowd 7 Ref 4 Oxford 7 looked a good side, had good spells of possession and always likely to score

Beaten by a better team who played the ball comfortably to feet. Not a terrible performance just no real quality. Another shocking referee! Without Bodin we have little quality, still reckon we will beat Shrewsbury on Tuesday UTG

Sloc 6 Bola 7 Broad 6.5 Lock 6.5 Parts 6 OC 5.5 Lin 6.5 Serc 6 Gaff 7 Harr 7.5 MOTM James 3
Sinc 6 Moore 2 Tel 6
Not a bad display but lacked the guile to break down Oxford despite dominating the play in the first half.
Draw probably a fairer result but if one team deserved to win it was probably them.
Ref 4 woeful but even handed.
Crowd 4 not much atmosphere
Oxford looked solid and seemed to want it a little more. Closed out the game very well.

Slocombe 6.5 Did what he had to do. Could work on his kicking
Partington 6 Lockyer 6 Broadbent 7 Bola 6 Both Bola and Partington did really good things, but also made mistakes
Lines 7.5 O. Clarke 6.5 Daft to lose his head Sercombe 7 Nichols 5 Too 'tippy-tappy'
Gaffney 6.5 Harrison 7.5
Subs: Sinclair 6 Moore 6 Telford 6 Looked dangerous but poor touch when through on goal
Crowd 7 Ref 6 Oxford 7.5 A really solid, organised outfit

DC got his tactics wrong. After a very good first half from us, Lines was too deep (hitting hopeful balls here there and everywhere). and no width in our play made us too predictable.

Slocombe 6 little to do Partington 6 average performance Lockyer 6.5 had his hands full bit did ok Broadbent 6.5 as lockyer Bola 6 looked out of sorts Lines 7 our only creative player Sercombe 6.5 the beard but slightly more disciplined Clarke 5 has to control his frustration with officials Nicholls 4 has skill but a striker he isn't Gaffney 7 ran the channels well and competed but he must learn the offside rule Harrison 7.5 kept Oxford defence on their toes and some important defensive clearances
Sinclair 6 did a typical performance Telford 6 clever quick but too light weight Moore 5 a few good touches but a peripheral character
DC 5 tactics poor why play your big men wide and a midget in the middle then pump long balls up to him in the air. Lack of a winger in the summer is coming back to bite him
Referee 6 card happy but got most decisions right

Slocombe 6 one good save but otherwise just routine suff Partington 5.5 tended to give his bloke too much room Lockyer 6 decent game Broadbent 6 one suicidal passback, left exposed for the goal Bola 5.5 decent first half, a bit sloppy in 2nd. Lines 7 mom the pick of the midfield O. Clarke 5 off his game. Sercombe 6 worked hard Nichols 5 ran about but didnt look like scoring Gaffney 6 grafted well but the Oxford defence did a good job keeping him fairly quiet Harrison 6.5 useful game especially his defensive work Subs: Sinclair 5.5 unsurprisingly looks a bit ring-rusty Moore 4 made no impression Telford 5 the one on one chance came too early for him and the heavy touch gave the keeper the chance to save None of the three subs improved things at all. Crowd 6 good numbers Ref 4 petty Oxford 7.5 looked a good side.

I thought I saw a better performance than most posters seem to have seen - yes the result is a bummer but credit to Oxford they gave as good as they got and took one of their many chances whilst we spurned all of ours.
Slocombe 6.5 competent even when given the ball under pressure Partington 7 might lose out to Leadbitter on pace but is a much calmer and effective defender also got forward well on occasion and could have scored if he'd had a left peg Lockyer 7 made some typical undroppable Tom interventions, tackles and speedy danger prevention Broadbent 6.5 up until the slip for the goal he'd been no nonsense and solid effectively seeing off the threat of Thomas Bola 7.5 strong first half and got forward well - ghosted past a couple of their defenders well in second half. Ran out of steam in the last quarter of an hour unfortunately Sercombe 6 never gave up and did a lot of closing down and laying off but didn't have his shooting boots on Lines 8 apparently I'm overly kind to Linesy but today not only did he pull the strings from deep he also made a last ditch tackle that earned him a burst of applause from DC and let fly an absolute screamer that would have been worthy of winning any game at any level. He never gave up and still stormed forward in the last few minutes expending the last drop of energy he had Clarke 5 not at his best and I think he forgot he'd given the armband back to Locks so thought he could vociferously dispute decisions with the officials Nichols 7 some of his game was very good and did well bringing the other forwards into the game, had an excellent opportunity to break his duck when clean through one on one but proved he still lacks confidence at the sharp end - pity. Harrison 8 worked like a Trojan and ensured Oxfords defenders knew they'd been in a game Gaffney 7 again another who did not deserve to be on the losing side but certainly rubbed the officials up the wrong way and was withdrawn, like Clarke, for his own good
Sinclair 5 rusty Moore 5 struggled to make a real impact Telford 6.5 several very nearly and if only moments
Crowd 7 Ref 2 tripe for both sides Oxford 7 had several good moments with powder puff finishing and then a couple of better efforts that were very close calls indeed. After having no corners and sporadic attacks in the first period they upped their game in the second half and just shaded it overall

Slocombe 7.5 didn't do much wrong.
Partington 7 ok. Lockyer 7 more like it. Broadbent 7 naive. Bola 7.5 decent.
Lines 8 m o m. O. Clarke 6 not there yet. Sercombe 7.5 tried too hard. Nichols 7 ok, just wondering if he knows what a net is?
Gaffney 7.5 good. Harrison 7.5 gooder.
Subs: Sinclair 7 got forward nicely. Moore 5 anonymous. Telford 7 trying.
Crowd 7.5 no troubles. Ref 7 sometimes baffling. Oxford 7.5 gave us a game.

Slocombe 6 Steady with one good stop
Partington 5.5 Not a bad game overall, his crossing was not his best Lockyer 6 Reasonable game Broadbent 5.5 One lapse otherwise steady Bola 5.5 Some good defending and forward play, made a few errors, never MoM
Lines 7 Good game might have scored with one shot, ran our midfield from deep, O. Clarke 5 Stupid booking, still not effective as he can be Sercombe 5 Tried hard, perhaps to hard Nichols 4.5 Still hoping he comes good, good skill but without any authority
Gaffney 7 Put himself about, perhaps to much out wide Harrison 7.5 MoM Another good game upfront and in defence
Subs: Sinclair 4 Poor by his standards Moore 3 Waste of a substitute Telford 4 Had one good chance
Crowd 6 Not so good this game Ref 4 Some good decisions others quite baffling, Oxford 7 Overall deserved the win A good game to watch especially the F/H Oxford just shaded it in S/H
