I am very surprised we have not seen more of the 3-5-2 formation because that would give us more defensive cover behind Chris Lines.
However our whole midfield is weak in the defensive sense and frustrating that was not addressed in the summer, a key mistake I think.

I know to make matters worse I backed Rovers to win and both teams to score at Northampton as part of a £400 accum but the fact we won softened the blow of betting slip 🙈, this is hard to take Never bet on your own team, its emotional betting, as a fan you always give your team more of a chance than realistic Very true and usually I follow those rules as well as not putting the sh1t in any of my accumulators for obvious reasons but just felt that with our tactical approach to every game this season we would score and concede so thought we were decent value ,

having just watched that pile of sh*t on ifollow i can safely say LINES was by far the worst player i have watched all season. cant run, defo cant tackle, stopped a few times to check his hair and makup Time to drop him and stick with The Beard, OC and LS in the middle Whilst I didn't watch tonight if you take Lines out of the team you take all creativity out. Especially when Bodin is injured. For me OC has been average at best this season and no where near his all action self of last season. Add that to the massively inexperienced back line and we're going to struggle. Totally agree Bishopston - well said!!!

Set my alarm at 1:40 am for a 1:45 kick where I am. What a bag of sh**e can't believe I stayed awake for the second half to be honest.

Funnily enough I think you lot kept the ball pretty well in patches last night and looked decent enough, arguably had more possession then us first half, difference was every time we got the ball we looked like were we’re going to score, defence was all over the place, I haven’t seen Whalley, Rodman and more importantly Nolan get that kind of space against any other side all season. On one hand I’d say our link up play was brilliant, on the other I have to say you let us do it far too easily.
Obviously I was happy Bodin wasn’t fit but in a strange kind of way it could have made the game a hell of a lot better as I just couldn’t see you breaking us down without him, is he as good as his goal scoring record suggests?
One thing I have to say is I’ve seen a few comments presuming we don’t have the strength in depth, of course I wouldn’t expect anyone to know our squad inside out so that’s a fair assumption, but it’s not true. We have very capable players in back up for virtually every position, Riley for full back, Beckles for CB, several central midfielders, and our leading scorer didn’t even start yesterday, so there’s depth there, arguably not a huge amount on the wings, but the rest of the squad are capable.
If you had an organised defence and a man to sit infront of them, you’d have a much better chance because as I say, I think you knocked the ball around fine, better then some teams we’ve come up against, but every time we attacked the defence wasn’t protected whatsoever by your midfield, and we cut through far too easy, obvious where the problems ly! All the best.

It is easy to knock the ball around fine if you do something with it in the end other than giving it away at times we were singing let us play and can we join in such was your possession and passing, last night we tried to play long ball in first half and then short ball in second half neither worked for us and it was a good job you took it easy in the second half or you could have had a record score Well done you played well we were an embarresment

Ok plays Lines in a more forward roll.... Not as a DEFENSIVE midfielder ! .He can't tackle has very little pace and just about capable to head the ball That I agree with.

Just got back. Certainly won't be up there with the one of the great trips!
To be losing 4-0 and having 'you're just embarrassing' sung to you by about 100 spotty teenagers with a drum, in a stadium that looks like it was contsructed out of corrugated plastic on a wet Sunday morning, was, quite frankly, humiliating.

goal 1] sercombe simply stopped tracking his marker who ran through and scored. goal 2] bola didnt jump at the far post.
goal 3] lines pulled out of a tackle he was favourite to win.
goal 4] player headed home in the box totally unmarked.
play any formation you want but if those things occur your going to get beat.

goal 2] bola didnt jump at the far post. goal 3] lines pulled out of a tackle he was favourite to win. 2] To be fair, he got flattened. It's the sort of challenge that often gets a free kick in midfield, but is almost never penalised (for attacker or defender) in the box. 3] He was never favourite to win that. He got beaten to a ball fair and square on the halfway line. I know it's tempting to want to blame someone, but you can't just blame the last person who got near the ball.

Bola should have sideways on with his left arm out feeling for his marker, that goal does happen in football so hes not as culpable as people were on the other 3. lines should have at least made a tackle, there player couldnt believe his luck after massively overrunning the ball in my opinion. Your opinion is different which is fine of course.

For those of you who couldn't be there on Tuesday night you can now relive the view that those who travelled had during the first half.
