Junior Agogo is featured on a programme about recovering from his stroke. A touching and moving video of a player who once graced our club and one of my favourite players ever to wear the quarters. Mainly because he was a bright spark whilst being stuck in a awful league. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09cfky7/speechless

The programme was a stark reminder of how life can change overnight - well worth watching.

Haven't had chance to watch the programme yet, but just to let people know we're trying to get in touch with Junior and see if we can help him get back in touch with team mates and help him out in whatever way he needs. Excellent stuff.
Watching the program I get the impression he may not be ready for a visit to the Mem, but when he is he should know there will be thousands of Rovers fans for who he is a legend and that he will get a very warm welcome.

Hi chaps occasional viewer/blogger and City fan here Was going to come on here last night to bring this program to all of your attention, but with 12 week old twins I became a little busy and it was to late, anyway I’m very close and volunteer to a Sussex based charity call “Say Asphasia” which is too help and support, language disability caused by a brain injury, I’ve meet Junior Agogo several times ,and instantly recognised him from his days with you guys, we have speak football most times and he always mentions his love for Bristol as a city and his best and most enjoyable time spent playing for the Gas, but the chance and money to go and play for forest was a massive pull, but was always hopeful for a return to you guys, just thought I would pass on the brief chats I’ve had with him about his time you.

A much misunderstood character who is very sensitive and loves to be loved.
I got to know him well when he was with us but lost touch with him since he moved away. I shall be tracking him down soon xx

It was a superb programme and made you realise how much the NHS is needed, the therapists were just so patient (no pun intended). You had to feel for all the guys that were featured in the programme and how much their lives changed following a stroke. I hope Junior reads some of the messages on Twitter and the forum all of which are supportive of a genuinely good guy. UTG

Full details at www.brfpa.org.ukHe'd get a tremendous reception if he came to a game and I would hope we could wheel out the DVD of the Yeovil game when he single-handedly grabbed a point for us with minutes to spare and nine men on the pitch! (and then admitted that he took the ball in to the corner in the 95th minute as he thought we were 3-2 up!). If there is a video of him taking a phone call on the pitch-side from Ian Atkins (who was in the stand) during a game then show that as well!!!
Top player. Sad story, but a bloke fighting back. Would be good if we could play a part to match his efforts.

Next step should be appointing club ambassadors and using them for promotional work and hospitality. I loved hospitality at Everton hosted by ex players and including interviews with guest ex players over the meals.

One of my favourite memories supporting the Gas that night. Down to 10 and 1 down. Then if I remember rightly Steve Elliot blatantly elbowed their striker in the face and deservedly got sent off. We were routinely beaten by them at the time by 3 goal and more. I think that was our first ever point against them in the FL after a fair few attempts.

For some of the match day sponsored by the FFSC Jon the Stripe has managed to have Andy Reece, Christian McLean, and Devon White as guests, all were well up for it and it was brilliant. I can totally see your logic for having designated ambassadors...

We were already one down before the two red cards.

Hunt scored so had a bit to do with it too, never felt so good after drawing a game, felt like a win. Remember his two goals at Mansfield, fun in the sun that day.

That night match is one of the most memorable for me too. He and Dave Savage were astonishing. A pretty amazing game, considering all other things. Agogo would be warmly received if he visit the Mem when he is well enough.
