I attended an AGM where Dennis was challenged on the costs at the Beeches for our loan players. He was opened and stated the charges made were cheaper than anywhere in the area with comparable facilities,I cant recall the figures but it certainly satisfied the questioner

Why? It's common knowledge that the rejection of MT's investment meant that there was a split in the boardroom. It's also common knowledge that some of those people were critical of the board to an extensive degree on all fronts with the clear implication being that the board were ruining the club either through incompetence, recklessness or otherwise. Someone ITK told you that

I'm struggling to understand what they can get out of this club without huge investment over a number of years. The initial attraction of buying a reasonably supported football club with further growth potential linked to planning permission for a new stadium has gone. I remain sceptical and will be until there is seen to be significant capital investment - a start on The Colony and plans for regeneratiing The Mem would be a good start but I'm not holding my breath that anything will happen anytime soon.

We are one promotion away from big revenue streams, i hope we can continue to make progress in that direction. For me i think wael aeems a nice bloke but unt we see something concrete like the development of the training ground it will remain a worry just how much interest the family has.
Im not a big fan of the chairman just as Swansea fans weren’t. He talks a lot of waffle to be honest.
Anyway, great to read a lot of well considered posts

It’s not a fact and it’s unlikely to be a fact because the ALQs would not have bought the club if they’d known this to be a fact and if it was a fact that would have made UWE unviable. So in summary the chances of it being a fact are about the same as the ALQs doing little due diligence before acquisition or doing full due diligence knowing it to be a fact and thinking it was still viable. Oh dear, it cannot be a fact then. Life goes on but what I will say is that there are a number of people on this forum that do know people with the right connections within to know what ‘fact’ really is. Or is not! Are people really this short sighted? And much of what those so called "in the knows" have said over recent years has more often than not never actually happened.

My faith is slowly leaking away as the months roll on and nothing happens.
To keep my faith I need evidence that a plan and investment exist, and evidence it is going to happen. I can't just keep on believing in nothing, or I might as well sit at the bottom of the garden and see if any fairies are playing down there.
I might be wrong, and something sensational will be announced, but how long do we have to wait? February 2018 for any news on the training ground? Sometime next year for the first proposals for the Mem? Even those are very optimistic timescales.
I just can't see why the owners will pump milllions into a new training facility and even more millions into a shiny new Mem (whether through internal or external investment) if any revenue streams from the investment are perhaps 5 years away.

This pretty much sums the whole situation up for me... And the fact we don't ever hear anything from the board or chairman any longer is just plane bizarre and somewhat annoying- or perhaps it is just "better the less you know". At least with NH we had a monthly update.

A monthly udate on the UWE of "nothing new to report" was at least an update, now we get sod all...I now feel as detached from the club as I ever have in 30 odd years.

But surely that is what they did say - maybe not as colourful - but that is how I understood it. taking the clubs statement at face value, my interpretation was that we put a final offer on the table after extensive negotiations and UWE never accepted it
that implies that the deal UWE were offering wasn't to our/Dwane's satisfaction
Isn't that stating the obvious but was DS' offer so low they knew the UWE would never accept it anyway? I'll never understand why we spent 18 months discussing figures before we found out we couldn't agree a deal. Now The Colony development seems to be following a similar path as the first anniversary of purchasing that is due this side of Christmas?

It's harder to lie once a month than to keep your mouth shut and lie by omission.

We're apparently developing a training ground and the mem, months after the biggest project in the clubs history mysteriously being scrapped!
