taking the clubs statement at face value, my interpretation was that we put a final offer on the table after extensive negotiations and UWE never accepted it
that implies that the deal UWE were offering wasn't to our/Dwane's satisfaction
Isn't that stating the obvious but was DS' offer so low they knew the UWE would never accept it anyway? I'll never understand why we spent 18 months discussing figures before we found out we couldn't agree a deal. Now The Colony development seems to be following a similar path as the first anniversary of purchasing that is due this side of Christmas? We dont know though do we. The official line (and I am not saying I beleive it necessarily) is that we had agreed stuff. The problem was UWE wanted to go back and revisit things. Obviously UWE will deny that.

Just wondered if the old board still attend games. Pretty sure i see Boycie about but with the passing of GD i didn’t see any comments or interviews from any of the old board which was a shame.
Are they still about? Is it true they are sh** stirring ?

Bumped into Barry Bradshaw at the services on the way home from Northampton so he certainly attends some games. Nick Higgs in his Range Rover overtook us on the m6 coming back from Wigan so can only assume he was at the game too. Don't they have boxes 2&3?

Well UWE said this on August 3rd:
A spokeswoman for UWE said the university “remained committed to delivering a new stadium”.
“We still believe it [the new stadium] would bring great benefits to the university, local community and the regional economy,” she said.
“Although we have been disappointed by the slow pace of negotiations, we are still willing and open to continue negotiations.
“This has been an initiative the university has been working on for over eight years and we still believe is deliverable.
“Planning consent does not expire until January 2018 and the door remains open for a deal to be struck, and the university will continue to work on this project.”

I saw BB chatting to SH before Saturday's game, NH's car always seems to be in the car park so I assume he's still keeping an on his investment(!).

what is the point of having a update if f all is going on,bringing in a bloke to sort new pies is a joke If we’re lucky we might have cherry coke by the start of next season and candy floss "F All going on"? We're apparently developing a training ground and the mem, months after the biggest project in the clubs history mysteriously being scrapped! apparently

I have been hearing nothing but negative stories about the board for the past few months. Are any of you still optimistic they are in it for the long haul and are going to deliver ? I hated the period of slow decline following the failed promotion season of 99-00 and all the ill feeling towards the board that followed and i really hoped for a period of all pulling together and some relative success. Lots of negativity from a vocal minority I might add. Seems like the lack of communication from the board has given rise to wild speculation. We definitely need more updates from the board on what's going on, but no updates doesn't mean the ALQs are looking to pull out!

And I remember posting at the time that there was nothing in UWE's statement that made any mention at all of any benefits to Bristol Rovers. Benefits to everyone else but not BRFC. Pretty much non inclusive IMO.

Build uwe, sell men ground to developers or build on it themselves if they want to make money here. Not many football clubs going to make money. Bristol Rovers will be hell of a lot more attractive to investors being the only club to have ground at a university and vice versa. benefits would work both ways.

I think that Rovers are being lied to and conned. I think there is an undisclosed underlying interest in being involved with BRFC without actually investing. I believe it is all a front and eventually it will come out in the wash. I believe another buyer will be being lined up. Why take over a football club and invest nothing? I don't but this evolution crap. I'm just being honest. If people don't agree then I understand, but it is my gut feeling. I don't buy all this Wael on the terraces stuff either. Sorry. This underlying interest, it's what? And there's pictures of Wael on the terraces, with the fans, and stories of him sitting with fans on the trains coming back from away trips, so I don't get what you don't "buy". Writing off sizeable amounts of cash? One minute people were booing about Wael when all the sh** was hitting the fan about the collapse of the UWE and then suddenly he is on the terraces every week. I can't believe a single word that comes out of Hamer either and whenever he is interviewed watch what he does with his hands. Flicks his fingers and grips his hand constantly, classic body language leakage from someone distorting the truth. I will believe in the regime when I see them spending some proper money.

Passed him in his BB2 car on the way to Shrewsbury, heading north on the M5. Assumed he was going there as well.

So your UWE source says it's all their fault , how did Michael Cunnah figure in all this uwe shambles , just a serious question No response to the fact your assertion about VAT was totally wrong then? If you're wrong about that what else have you got twisted? Are you responding to me or picking a question that someone else has posed to me on here, confused?

Pretty sure Wael has been on the terraces way before the UWE deal fell through. As for writing off sizeable amounts of cash, if it was illegal they'd be behind bars by now. Isn't it in the interest of the club that this is done anyway?
Proper money huh? You mean millions on players right? Something they said they would never do right from the word go. I really don't see why all the hatred towards Wael, but if that's your thing, carry on.
