Well UWE said this on August 3rd: A spokeswoman for UWE said the university “remained committed to delivering a new stadium”. “We still believe it [the new stadium] would bring great benefits to the university, local community and the regional economy,” she said. “Although we have been disappointed by the slow pace of negotiations, we are still willing and open to continue negotiations. “This has been an initiative the university has been working on for over eight years and we still believe is deliverable. “Planning consent does not expire until January 2018 and the door remains open for a deal to be struck, and the university will continue to work on this project.” University public seem keep to get a stadium built. if I was Wael and co, and was serious about building a stadium I would compromise a little. it is near impossible to get anything built in Bristol and we will be waiting years for anything to happen at the Mem. Build uwe, sell men ground to developers or build on it themselves if they want to make money here. Not many football clubs going to make money. Bristol Rovers will be hell of a lot more attractive to investors being the only club to have ground at a university and vice versa. benefits would work both ways. You talk about compromise a little, from what I can surmise from this whole sorry affair it would be more than a little we would be giving up. Selling the Mem to developers would not cover a third of the costs of building a new stadium, if you are then giving up a large portion of your revenue from said new ground how would you pay the investors back? If UWE want to build a stadium, let them crack on as without tenants it will never pay for itself.

Just wondered if the old board still attend games. Pretty sure i see Boycie about but with the passing of GD i didn’t see any comments or interviews from any of the old board which was a shame. Are they still about? Is it true they are sh** stirring ? You must be thinking of KS ?

No response to the fact your assertion about VAT was totally wrong then? If you're wrong about that what else have you got twisted? Are you responding to me or picking a question that someone else has posed to me on here, confused? You never responded to this: Here's a couple of new things you may not of realised , the PR announcement from the club that had said we had turned down £500k from a championship club on deadline day for Bill to lead us to think that the club at least/ at last has ambition, or the fact that Avon and Somerset have been waiting to be paid for last season, there's more but to be brutally honest most on here won't believe unless you can provide printed transcripts no doubt but it doesn't stop it all being true. As I've said in an earlier post I have always been an optimist not a doom monger when it comes to Rovers but all these murmurings emanating from the club are extremely concerning indeed, they want out because they haven't shown due diligence when acquiring the club and now realise the deal is not for them which is dumbfounding when you consider they are supposed to be successful business men. A couple of other things some of which you do know Dwayne sports is channel island based nothing new there but because for some unknown reason (sh1t advisors or have a go heroes) they don't know British tax law i.e. They thought that the building of the Colony and that of the UWE would be VAT free which it would be because new builds are VAT exempt but that only applies to British mainland based companies not those who are based in Guernsay. That would mean that our £40million pound plus pipe dream would've cost nearer to £50 million and the same rules apply to the state of the art training complex , none of it is going to happen. Sorry but the opposite of the bit in bold is true. New commercial land and buildings are standard rated for VAT: VAT Act 1994 Schedule 9 Group 1 para 1 (a). You're just repeating things that have been said on here before and adding your own emphasis.

In answer to the OP, while I don't believe all the unproven rumours that are being spread I am losing faith in the current board too. I definitely have no trust in our Chairman.

So 14 pages in and has anyone produced any concrete facts yet? Or is it all hearsay and guess work on both sides?

So 14 pages in and has anyone produced any concrete facts yet? The Ancient Romans were the first to develop concrete as a building material. They accomplished this by mixing lime, water, and volcanic ash. Three Gorges Dam is the largest concrete structure in the world, standing at 607 feet high and 7,575 feet long. About 6 billion cubic meters of concrete is made each year, which equals one cubic meter for every person on Earth.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if Colony Sport were a UK based company could they reclaim the VAT if they were VAT registered isn't that the whole point of being VAT registered? There's also a possibly we could be exempt from VAT if we could show the training ground was a community sports ground under the "village hall" rules, although I've no idea who much use the community has to use it to get the exemption. One things for sure unless SH is lying there's some tax issues to resolve before work can commence at Almondsbury.

I've not twisted anything fella by the way albeit other than maybe some confusion regarding VAT exemption which isn't very transparent in the script of the VAT act 1994 schedule 9 group 1 paragraph 1(a) But I'm sure there are tax exemptions regarding sporting facilities

In answer to the original question, yes I still have faith in Wael to deliver the long term vision for the club, he made it clear from the outset it was not going to happen overnight, sometimes in life you have to have patience, UTG

Writing off sizeable amounts of cash? One minute people were booing about Wael when all the sh** was hitting the fan about the collapse of the UWE and then suddenly he is on the terraces every week. I can't believe a single word that comes out of Hamer either and whenever he is interviewed watch what he does with his hands. Flicks his fingers and grips his hand constantly, classic body language leakage from someone distorting the truth. I will believe in the regime when I see them spending some proper money. Pretty sure Wael has been on the terraces way before the UWE deal fell through. As for writing off sizeable amounts of cash, if it was illegal they'd be behind bars by now. Isn't it in the interest of the club that this is done anyway?
Proper money huh? You mean millions on players right? Something they said they would never do right from the word go. I really don't see why all the hatred towards Wael, but if that's your thing, carry on.
How about spending some of their money on a new stadium or state of the art training facility or actually pay their bills.
