It would be a good argument if you could list a number of players but only Telford as probably warranted more game time but Nichols 2 in 2 before Friday suggests DC was right to stick by him. Parts,Bola & Broadbent have all been given their chance to impress as have the two goalies. Locks retains his place but he could well become our first international player for years this weekend I doubt he'd win a cap if he was dropped/not playing. Was just using him as an example of how DC will, very often, not play someone who was MOM or who played so well that posters have made a point of writing about their part. I know football has moved on and all players are athletes now but it hasn’t moved on so much that you drop someone who showed great endeavour and who did well. How many times have you read the teamsheet and though duck me, I can’t believe he dropped ( insert name) ?
Maybe that's it Jools, players are worried about putting in a decent performance in fear of being dropped for the next match.
Might explain a few strange sponsors MOTM's, wouldn't be so bad if we could fix it to announce Byron Moore MOTM every week
I don't get the need to bring in players on loan if they are not going to play, we might as well use our own youngsters in their place.

Not sure about the individuals mentioned but I think we obviously need to do something different in terms of defensive coaching, as I actually believe our defenders are not individually that bad. Certainly Lockyer, Sweeney and Broadbent all are classy on their day and we have plenty of good full back options on paper. With the correct organisation and shape I truly believe our defence can be a strong point, just as it was for most of the second half of last season. Yep of course, but was thinking about quality ex-Rovers players who played at the back and who might be interested ?? Both have been coaches/assistants too ! I can't put up any better names. When I said I'm not sure I wasn't questioning the two you put forward, I just genuinely don't know who would do a good job.

Don't agree personally
The keeper is the most important part. it shouldn't matter who is in the back line. because any set of defenders should know that the keeper either comes for everything, or nothing. It's easier to know what 1 man is going to do, what 1 man wants to do than the 3 or 4 in front
In the main, yes a keeper commands his box but constantly chopping and changing the 4 in front of him is massively unsettling. DC isn't though, Locks, Broadbent and Brown have played every game since Shrewsbury, at RB DC says he plays Leads. v a pacy winger or Parts otherwise. Whatever that still doesn't explain why we can't defend a free kick and corner, even if we played Bath City etc you'd expect them to defend those two!

Strange as it might sound I actually think we might defend better if we pushed up more and marked better rather than pile everyone back behind the ball. Same at corners, with every player back it means the opposition can push most forward and the box is overcrowded with half the players not knowing who they are marking and not actually built that well to defend. We have become very predictable.

Go check the players ratings thread for the line-ups since Shrewsbury. Shrews Slocombe Parts Lockyer Sweeney Bola Rochdale Smith Parts Lockyer Broadbent Leads MK Dons Smith Leads Lockyer Broadbent Brown County Smith Parts Lockyer Broadbent Brown That is not a settled back 4. The same combination have not played together at all.

Jesus, I just checked back. We have not played the same back 4 two games on the trot all season.
